Description
Production of alkali or alkaline earth sulfides from sulfuric acid Refining waste. It is known that the refining waste produced by the refining plants be removed from petroleum, vaseline oils, etc., contain sulfuric acid, intimately mixed with pitch-like and resinous. Substances in which carbon is predominant Component is. These waste materials could be technically usable up to now Utilization are not supplied. In general one has limited oneself to recover as much diluted, dark-colored, low-grade sulfuric acid as possible as well as impure acid resins and pitch-like substances, which are also sufficient paragraph couldn't find. Attempts have also been made to refine waste containing sulfuric acid to use instead of sulfuric acid in its large technical fields of application, so z. B. in the production of superphosphate, sulfuric acid iron and copper. However, the difficulties in putting such methods into practice have been so great that satisfactory results have not been obtained.
It has also already been proposed that waste materials containing sulfuric acid to use for the production of alkali sulfides, including those containing sulfuric acid Waste treated with appropriate neutralizing substances and then heated. In the known working methods, it was felt to be very annoying, among other things, that with the neutralization of the waste containing sulfuric acid always one. Dismantling the Sulfuric acid took place; because on the one hand this resulted in the neutralization The gases released were contaminated and thus worthless, on the other hand they were too then sulphides obtained by heating by the neutralizing raw materials used contaminated. In addition, there was always paste formation in the known processes occurred during the neutralization, which made the necessary mixing difficult and even made impossible.
The invention also aims at the production of sulfides Refining waste containing sulfuric acid and consists in that-one as a neutralizing Substance alkali carbonate or an alkaline earth compound, such as lime, calcium carbonate, calcium sulfide, Barium carbonate, used as well as the. Waste materials gradually neutralizing the powdery Mixed substances: Under these conditions, sulphurous gases develop does not take place and consequently there are no losses of sulfuric acid. Furthermore remains the processed mass in powder form, no foam is formed and. clenches the product does not combine to form an elastic mass. The crowd lets itself Stir gently if necessary. It is therefore possible to use the sulfuric acid Treat refinery waste in large quantities and in a technically feasible manner, at low cost and without operational disruptions.
The refining waste containing sulfuric acid in question originates from z. B. the treatment of processed products of petroleum, gasoline, petroleum, white spirit, Mineral oils with sulfuric acid or fuming sulfuric acid. In neutralization With the help of the above conditions, sulphates are formed, which contain all of the sulfuric acid, contained in the refining waste in bound form. Also contains the resulting sulphate excess neutralizing substance that does not react has, 'avenges.
The resulting sulphates, which contain resins and pitch-like substances, are then converted to sulphides by heating them to red heat, i. H. about on 700 to 100 ° C, heated.
To recover the volatile constituents in the neutralized Refining waste is contained, can be heated in such a way that initially one Distillation occurs, and only after this distillation has taken place drifts heating to the temperature necessary to produce the sulphides.
Depending on the circumstances, the heating can be done in two consecutive ways Carry out phases or in two different work steps.
First comes the recovery of the volatile constituents or the Destillaxion process ahead. The second section sets the heating to red heat to generate sulfide from the residue.
The previous recovery process consists essentially of heating of the neutralized refining waste in a retort. Vapors develop which are condensed in a cooling device. The non-chandensable gases are caught. The heating is carried out up to about 400 ° C, and it then remains in the retort - a black powdery mass, essentially made of sulfate and Consisting of carbon; the latter comes from the strength of the oils and pitch-like substances here.
The captured gases and the condensed. Distillates are in theirs Composition very different depending on the origin of the sulfuric acid to be processed Refining waste (gasoline, petroleum, mineral oils, etc., of various origins). The composition still depends on the original concentration the sulfuric acid used and the duration and temperature at which both, oils and acid, were in contact.
The condensed distillates are in all cases rich in unsaturated Carbon compounds, and pretty well related to the cracked distillates. The distillates can therefore be used directly as gas oil. By rectification they deliver more or less gasoline and light oils.
The residue in the retort is then heated to 700 bis iioo ° C converted into sulphide.
It is particularly noted that the practical industrial implementation this recovery of the volatile constituents is made possible by the powdery State of the neutralized raffinate waste produced by the above Working method arise during the neutralization.
One can also neutralize the refining waste containing sulfuric acid use the sulphides obtained by the method described.
In this case, hydrogen sulfide escapes during the neutralization, which can be processed on sulfur by known methods.
It is Z. B. possible, S02-containing gases act on hydrogen sulfide allow. This is particularly beneficial as the refining waste containing sulfuric acid are a source of sulphurous gases, it is enough to heat the waste; as a result Reaction between carbon and acid, sulphurous gases escape.
The procedure is as follows: First, the refining waste is heated, in order to develop sulphurous acid, then subjects it to a neutralization by means of alkaline or alkaline earth sulfides. In doing so, it becomes hydrogen sulfide free, which is allowed to act on the sulphurous acid. Eventually the neutralized Refining waste is heated, which causes its conversion to sulphides.
The conversion of refining waste containing sulfuric acid into sulphides can be made easier by the refining waste after neutralization Carbon (coal, retort coal, charcoal, sawdust, tar, organic waste etc.) clogs. This carbon increases the temperature as a result of its combustion inside the; mass during the process and accelerates the reaction.
You can also indifferent substances such. B. Silicates, add, which distribute the mass and make it powdery. These Adding additives can take place during neutralization, or the additives are added to the compounds used for neutralization.
The procedure is the same also on the refining waste applicable to which treatment with warm or cold water or with steam, likewise some of the sulfuric acid or the sulfuric acid by heating over a free flame S02 gases are removed. It is known that those containing sulfuric acid treated in the above manner have Refining waste has a low content of sulfuric acid, while the content of Resins and pitch-like substances is increased. Treatment with water and steam turns the refining waste into hard and brittle masses. By heating The waste becomes more or less hard when exposed to a free flame. In all of these cases can refining waste partially deacidified by some process are processed according to the present method for sulfides.
Embodiments: You can z. B. neutralize 100 kg of refinery waste containing sulfuric acid with an acidity of 65 percent by gradually removing the waste; o kg of sodium carbonate are added. The mass is then heated to between 700 and 100 ° C. with the exclusion of air, and about 55 kg of sodium sulfide are obtained.
Man verarbeitet z. The refining waste containing sulfuric acid can also be caused by lime be neutralized. One processes z. B. 34o kg of waste at Zoo kg of lime. As mentioned above, the intimate blending is effected gradually so that development of sulphurous gases does not take place and the mixing of the mass no difficulty rained. About 300 kg of neutralized waste are obtained; the difference in weight makes up the water evaporated by the heat of reaction. The product obtained is powdery. The powdery product is produced by heating to 700 to 100 ° C Product in sulfide over.
The described embodiments are of course only Examples are. The proportions of the substances used can. to be different.
The refining waste containing sulfuric acid, as it is in refining from hydrocarbons and usually remain fully utilized by the present invention a high value, since it is used as a starting material for the Production of sulphides of alkalis or alkaline earths, of sulfur and oily distillates can be exploited and the products can be obtained in a pure state.
