Description
- Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf die Verwendung von Polymerpolyaminen und insbesondere auf Polymere mit primären Aminoendgruppen zur Herstellung von Polyurethan/Polyharnstoff- oder Polyharnstoff-Polymerprodukten.
- Die Herstellung von Polyurethan-Materialien mit zellulärer oder nichtzellulärer, flexibler oder starrer Beschaffenheit durch Umsetzung von organischen Polyisocyanaten mit polymeren Polyolen, wenn erforderlich in Gegenwart anderer Bestandteile wie Schäumungsmitteln, Quervernetzungsmitteln, Katalysatoren und oberflächenaktiven Mittel ist gut bekannt.
- Die Geschwindigkeit der Reaktion zwischen dem Polyisocyanat und dem Polyol kann durch die Verwendung der vorstehend erwähnten Katalysatoren gesteuert werden, die auch zur Steuerung der Geschwindigkeit dieser Reaktion relativ zu konkurrierenden Reaktionen, z B. einer Schäumungsreaktion dienen können. In einigen Fällen ist die Reaktivität von Polyolen gegenüber Polyisocyanaten jedoch geringer als erwünscht, insbesondere wenn das Polyol sekundäre Hydroxylgruppen enthält, was gewöhnlich der Fall ist bei von Propylenoxid abgeleiteten Polyetherpolyolen.
- Es ist bekannt, daß Isocyanate leichter mit primären Aminogruppen als mit Hydroxylgruppen reagieren und es wurden entsprechend Verfahren zur Herstellung von Polymeren mit Aminoende vorgeschlagen, die nach Umsetzung mit organischen Polyisocyanaten zu makromolekularen Materialien umgesetzt werden, die Polyharnstoffbindungen enthalten und verbesserte physikalische und chemische Eigenschaften, verglichen mit den entsprechenden Polyurethanen besitzen.
- Ein vorgeschlagenes Verfahren zur Herstellung von Polymeren mit Aminoende ist die Reaktion von Polyoxypropylenpolyolen mit Ammoniak unter solchen Bedingungen, daß die 2-Hydroxypropoxyendgruppen zu 2-Aminopropoxygruppen umgesetzt werden (z. B. US-A-3654370).
- Ein weiteres vorgeschlagenes Verfahren ist die Reaktion von Polyetherpolyolen mit Acrylnitril, wodurch terminale Cyanoethoxygruppen eingeführt werden, die durch Hydrierung zu 3-Aminopropoxygruppen umgesetzt werden (z. B. US-A-3799986). Es zeigte sich, daß diese Verfahren mit ansteigenden Kosten für Polyoxypropylenpolyole mit steigenden Molekulargewichten verbunden sind, wodurch sich eine Abneigung gegen ihre Verwendung in großem Maßstab ergibt.
- Es wurde nun gefunden, daß brauchbare Polymere mit primären Aminoendendgruppen durch Umsetzung von Polycarbonsäuren oder deren Derivaten mit aliphatischen Polyaminen, die terminale Aminopropoxygruppen besitzen, erhalten werden können.
- Dementsprechend bezieht sich die Erfindung auf die Verwendung eines Polymerpolyamins mit einem Molekulargewicht von 1000 bis 16000, vorzugsweise 1000 bis 8000, das 2 bis 4 primäre Aminogruppen pro Molekül enthält, wobei das Polyamin das Kondensationsprodukt ist einer Polycarbonsäure und eines stöchiometrischen Überschusses eines Polyamins mit terminalen Aminopropoxygruppen und mit einem Molekulargewicht unter 500, vorzugsweise mit einem Molekulargewicht von 132 bis 500, zur Herstellung von Polyurethan/Polyharnstoff- oder Polyharnstoff-Polymerprodukten.
- Die Polymerpolyamine können durch Kondensation einer oder mehrerer Polycarbonsäuren oder deren amidbildenden Derivate mit einem oder mehreren der vorstehend erwähnten Polyamine mit terminalen Aminopropoxygruppen bei Temperaturen bis zu 250ºC hergestellt werden. Die Molekulargewichte der Polycarbonsäure und des Polyamins und die Überschußmenge des Polyamins werden in bekannter Weise gewählt so daß sich ein Polymerpolyamin mit gewünschtem Molekulargewicht ergibt. Beispielsweise können Polymerdiamine mit Molekulargewichten von ungefähr 2000 erhalten werden durch Kondensation von 2 Mol eines Diamins mit Molekulargewicht 200 mit 1 Mol einer polymeren Dicarbonsäure mit Molekulargewicht 1800, durch Kondensation von 7 Mol eines Diamins mit Molekulargewicht 200 mit 6 Mol Adipinsäure oder durch verschiedene andere Kombinationen von Diamin mit Dicarbonsäure, die von einem Fachmann leicht erkannt werden. Auf ähnliche Weise können die gesamten Funktionalitäten der Ausgangsmaterialien in bekannter Weise gewählt werden, so daß sich Polymerpolyaminprodukte mit gewünschter Funktionalität ergeben.
- Polyamine mit terminalen Aminopropoxygruppen, die zur Herstellung der Polymerpolyamine verwendet werden können, beinhalten Polyamine, in denen die terminalen Gruppen 3-Aminopropoxygruppen sind. Derartige Polyamine können durch Cyanoethylierung von Polyolen gefolgt von Hydrierung gewonnen werden. Polyole, die cyanoethyliert werden können, beinhalten Polyole mit niedrigem Molekulargewicht, z. B. Ethylenglykol, Propylenglykol, Diethylenglykol, 1,4-Butandiol, 1,6-Hexandiol, 1,4-Cyclohexandimethanol, 2,5-Bis(hydroxymethyl)furan, Glycerin, Trimethylolpropan, 1,2,6-Hexantriol und Pentaerythritolgruppen ebenso wie Polyetherpolyole, die durch Umsetzung derartiger Polyole mit niedrigem Molekulargewicht mit Ethylenoxid und/oder Propylenoxid gewonnen wurden.
- Weitere Polyole, die cyanoethyliert werden können, beinhalten Polyolefinpolyole, wie Homo- oder Copolymere von Butadien mit Hydroxylende, Polyacetalpolyole, Polythioetherpolyole, polyhydroxylierte Mineralöle usw.
- Polyolmischungen können auch verwendet werden, z. B. Polyolmischungen verschiedener Funktionalität. In dieser Hinsicht ist es wünschenswert, daß die Zahl der in dem Polyamin nach Cyanoethylierung und Hydrierung vorhandenen 3-Aminopropoxygruppen der Zahl der im Ausgangspolyol vorhandenen Hydroxylgruppen entspricht. Die Cyanoethylierung und die Hydrierung können unter Verwendung von Bedingungen nach dem Stand der Technik durchgeführt werden. So können ein oder mehrere Polyole mit Acrylnitril bei Temperaturen von -20 bis 10ºC unter Verwendung von 1 bis 5 Mol, vorzugsweise 2 bis 3 Mol Acrylnitril pro Hydroxylgruppe umgesetzt werden. Nach Entfernung von unumgesetztem Acrylnitril kann die Hydrierung unter Standardbedingungen, z. B. unter Verwendung von herkömmlichen Hydrierkatalysatoren ausgeführt werden.
- Andere Polyamine mit terminalen Aminopropoxygruppen, die zur Herstellung der Polymerpolyamine verwendet werden können, beinhalten Polyamine, in denen die terminalen Gruppen 2-Aminopropoxygruppen sind. Derartige Polyamine können durch Aminierung von Polyolen mit zwei oder mehreren sekundären Hydroxylgruppen gewonnen werden. Polyole, die aminiert werden können, beinhalten Dipropylenglykol, Tripropylenglykol und andere Polyoxypropylenpolyole. Die Zahl der im Polyamin nach Fertigstellung vorhandenen 2-Aminopropoxygruppen entspricht der Zahl der in dem Polyol vorhandenen sekundären Hydroxylgruppen.
- Polycarbonsäuren und deren amidbildende Derivate, die zur Herstellung der Polymerpolyamine verwendet werden können, beinhalten aliphatische und aromatische Dicarbonsäuren, z. B. Bernstein-, Glutar-, Adipin-, Sebacin-, Phthal- und Terephthalsäure und deren niedere Dialkyl-, insbesondere Dimethylester. Insbesonders zweckmäßig ist die Verwendung einer kommerziell erhältlichen Mischung der Dimethylester von Bernstein-, Glutar- und Adipinsäure, z. B. eine Mischung in dem ungefähren Gewichtsverhältnis 1:3:1. Andere geeignete Polycarbonsäuren beinhalten Polyester mit Carbonsäure- oder Carbonsäureester-Endgruppen. Derartige Polyester sind in der Technik gut bekannt und können durch Umsetzung eines oder mehrerer Glykole, z. B. Ethylenglykol, Propylenglykol, Diethylenglykol, 1,4-Butandiol, 1,5-Pentandiol oder 1,6- Hexandiol, cycloaliphatischer Glykole wie 1,4-Cyclohexandimethanol und 2,5-Bis(hydroxymethyl)furan oder araliphatischer Glykole wie Bis(hydroxyethoxy)benzol mit einem Überschuß, entsprechend dem gewünschten Molekulargewicht, einer oder mehrerer Dicarbonsäuren oder deren Anhydride oder niederen Alkylester gewonnen werden. Geeignete Säuren beinhalten die vorstehend erwähnten aliphatischen und aromatischen Dicarbonsäuren. Die Reaktionsmischung kann auch geringe Mengen an Polyolen mit höherer Funktionalität, wie Glycerin, Trimethylolpropan oder Pentaerythritol beinhalten, um Polyole mit mehr als zwei Carbonsäure- oder Carbonsäureestergruppen pro Molekül herzustellen. Die Polyester haben geeigneterweise Molekulargewichte im Bereich von 250 bis 4000.
- Eine weitere Klasse geeigneter Polycarbonsäurederivate beinhaltet Polyether mit Carboxyalkyl-Endgruppen. Derartig modifizierte Polyether können durch Umsetzung eines Polyetherpolyols mit einem Überschuß eines niederen Alkylesters einer niederen aliphatischen Dicarbonsäure, z. B. einer Mischung der Dimethylester von Bernstein-, Glutar- und Adipinsäure gewonnen werden. Die modifizierten Polyether haben geeigneterweise Molekulargewichte im Bereich von 250 bis 6000.
- Die in dieser Erfindung verwendeten Polymerpolyamine haben höhere Molekulargewichte als sie allein auf dem Cyanoethylierungs- und Hydrierungsweg leicht erhältlich sind. Ferner ergibt die Gegenwart von Amidgruppen in den Polymerpolyaminen Eigenschaften, die sie für die Verwendung in Polyharnstoff- und Polyurethan/Polyharnstoff-Systemen insbesondere geeignet macht.
- Es ist Ziel der Erfindung die Polymerpolyamine gegebenenfalls in Zumischung mit Polymerpolyolen, z. B. Polyethern oder Polyesterpolyolen mit organischen Polyisocyanaten und Diamin- Kettenerweiterern zur Bildung von brauchbaren Polyharnstoff- oder Polyharnstoff/Polyurethan-Produkten umzusetzen, die eine zelluläre oder nichtzelluläre Struktur haben können. Geeignete Polyisocyanate beinhalten aromatische Diisocyanate, z. B. Toluoldiisocyanat und Diphenylmethandiisocyanat, die als reine Verbindungen, z. B. 4,4'-Diphenylmethandiisocyanat oder als Isomermischungen, z. B. Mischungen der 4,4'- und der 2,4'-Diphenylmethandiisocyanate oder als unraffinierte Produkte, z. B. Produkte, die Diphenylmethandiisocyanatisomere und -oligomere (rohes MDI) enthalten, verwendet werden können.
- Bevorzugte Kettenerweiterer sind insbesonders aromatische Diamin-Kettenerweiterer, wie 1-Methyl-3,5-diethyl-2,4- diaminobenzol, 1-Methyl-3,5-diethyl-2,6-diaminobenzol (beide Materialien werden auch Diethyltoluoldiamin oder DETDA genannt), 1,3,5-Triethyl-2,6-diaminobenzol, 3,5,3',5'-Tetraethyl-4,4'-diaminodiphenylmethan und dergleichen.
- Insbesonders bevorzugte aromatische Diamin-Kettenerweiterer sind 1-Methyl-3,5-diethyl-2,4-diaminobenzol oder eine Mischung dieser Verbindung mit 1-Methyl-3,5-diethyl-2,6- diaminobenzol.
- Die Reaktion zwischen dem Polyamin und dem Polyisocyanat, wenn geeignet unter Einschluß von Schäumungsmitteln, Katalysatoren, oberflächenaktiven Mitteln, Kettenerweiterern, Flammschutzmitteln, Füllmitteln, Pigmenten usw. kann durchgeführt werden, um feste Elastomere, mikrozelluläre Elastomere, flexible Schäume und andere nützliche Produkte herzustellen. Bekannte Polyurethanverfahren, z. B. Reaktionsspritzguß können verwendet werden.
- Die Erfindung wird durch die folgenden Beispiele erläutert, ist aber nicht auf sie beschränkt.
- Ein Glasreaktorgefäß, ausgestattet mit einer Stickstoffbelüftungsvorrichtung, einer Vigreux-Kolonne und einem Kühler wurde mit 2389 g eines aminierten Polyoxypropylenglykols, verkauft von Texaco Co. unter dem Namen Jeffamine D400 (Jeffamine ist eine Handelsbezeichnung von Texaco Co.) und 730 g einer 1:3:1-Mischung von Dimethyladipat, -glutarat und -succinat befüllt. Es wurde ein Katalysator in einer Konzentration von 6 ppm zugegeben. Die Reaktionsmischung wurde 8 Stunden lang auf 230ºC erhitzt, wobei während der Zeit Methanol im Kühler gesammelt wurde. Nach dieser Zeit wurde das Produkt abgekühlt und aus dem Reaktor entnommen.
- Produktcharakterisierung:
- Aminwert: 0,99 x 10&supmin;³ Mol/g
- Säurewert: 2,5 mg KOH/g
- Methoxylwert: 0
- Viskosität: 56 Pa s bei 25ºC
- In der in Beispiel 1 beschriebenen Weise wurde unter Verwendung von 2565 g eines aminierten Polyoxypropylenglykols, verkauft von Texaco Co. unter dem Namen Jeffamine D400 (Jeffamine ist eine Handelsbezeichnung von Texaco Co.) und 935 g Dimethylterephthalat ein Polymerpolyamin mit den folgenden Eigenschaften gewonnen.
- Aminwert: 1,15 x 10&supmin;³ Mol/g
- Säurewert: > 20 mg KOH/g
- Methoxylwert: 0
- Viskosität: 931 x 10&supmin;&sup6; m²/s bei 100ºC
- In der in Beispiel 1 beschriebenen Weise wurde unter Verwendung von 2647 g Jeffamine D400, 278 g Dimethylterephthalat und 575 g der gleichen in Beispiel 1 angegebenen Mischung von Dimethyladipat, -glutarat und -succinat das Produkt mit den folgenden Eigenschaften gewonnen.
- Aminwert: 1,00 x 10&supmin;³ Mol/g
- Säurewert: 7,2 mg KOH/g
- Methoxylwert: 0
- Viskosität: 358 x 10&supmin;&sup6; m²/s bei 100ºC
- In der in Beispiel 1 beschriebenen Weise wurde unter Verwendung von 2741 g Jeffamine D400 und 759 g Adipinsäure das Produkt mit den folgenden Eigenschaften gewonnen.
- Aminwert: 1,00 x 10&supmin;³ Mol/g Säurewert: 2,25 mg KOH/g Viskosität: 977 x 10&supmin;&sup6; m²/s bei 100ºC
- In der in Beispiel 1 beschriebenen Weise wurde unter Verwendung von 257,7 g eines durch Cyanoethylierung und Reduzierung eines Polypropylenglykols mit einem Molekulargewicht von 300 gewonnenen Diamins und 42,3 g der in Beispiel 1 angegebenen Mischung von Dimethyladipat, -glutarat und -succinat ein Produkt mit den folgenden Eigenschaften gewonnen.
- Aminwert: 1,05 x 10&supmin;³ Mol/g
- Viskosität: 13 Pa s bei 50ºC
- 80 kg einer Polyisocyanatmischung, bestehend aus 22,8 Gewichtsteilen einer MDI-Zusammensetzung mit einem NCO-Gehalt von 33,4 %, vertrieben von Imperial Chemical Industries Ltd. als Suprasec ML (Suprasec ist ein Warenzeichen) und 6,5 Gewichtsteilen einer flüssigen MDI-Zusammensetzung mit einem NCO-Gehalt von 29 %, vertrieben von Imperial Chemical Industries Ltd. als Suprasec VM 20 - LF 168 (Suprasec ist ein Warenzeichen) wurden in einen Sammeltank einer Admiral HTRRIM-Einheit gefüllt (Admiral HTRRIM ist ein eingetragenes Warenzeichen). 80 kg einer Mischung von 15,6 Gewichtsteilen DETDA und 55,1 Gewichtsteilen des in Beispiel 1 beschriebenen Polymeramins wurden in den anderen Sammeltank der Admiral HTRRIM-Einheit gefüllt. Die Materialien wurden leicht gerührt und durch die Zuführungsrohre, Rückführungsrohre und den Mischkopf unter einer N&sub2;-Druckdecke umgepumpt.
- Die Materialien wurden in eine vorgewärmte Form (100ºC) mit einem Durchsatz von 60 kg/min. eingespritzt. Die Aufpralldrücke wurden entsprechend den Viskositätsunterschieden so eingestellt, daß sich Drücke von ca. 17,2 MPa (2500 psi) sowohl für das Isocyanat als auch die isoreaktiven Ströme ergaben. Das Einspritzverhältnis wurde so eingestellt, daß die polymerisierende Zusammensetzung die folgende Formulierung hatte:
- ML-Komponente 22,8 %
- LF 168-Komponente 6,5 %
- DETDA-Komponente 15,6 %
- Polymeramin aus Beispiel 1 55,1 %
- Die Einschußzeit war ca. 0,33 Sekunden und das Material wurde aus der Form 30 Sekunden nach dem Einspritzen entfernt. Das gewonnene Plaque wurde bei 163ºC (325ºF) 30 Minuten lang nachgehärtet.
- Es wurde das gleiche allgemeine Verfahren, wie in Beispiel 6 beschrieben, angewendet, wobei die Suprasec VM 20 - LF 168- Komponente durch eine Suprasec VM 20 - XI 208-Komponente (Suprasec ist ein Warenzeichen), die eine flüssige MDI- Zusammensetzung mit einem NCO-Gehalt von 31 % ist, ersetzt wurde. Es wurde ein Polymerplaque aus dem folgenden Ansatz hergestellt:
- ML-Komponente 27,6 %
- XI 208-Komponente 4,8 %
- DETDA-Komponente 17,5 %
- Polymeramin aus Beispiel 1 50,0 %
Claims (9)
1. Verwendung eines Polymerpolyamins als ein
isocyanatreaktives Polymer zur Herstellung eines
Polyurethan/Polyharnstoff- oder
Polyharnstoff-Polymerproduktes dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das Polymerpolyamin ein
Molekulargewicht von 1000 bis 16000 hat und 2 bis 4 primäre
Aminogruppen pro Molekül enthält, wobei das Polymerpolyamin
das Kondensationsprodukt aus einer Polycarbonsäure und einem
stöchiometrischen Überschuß eines Polyamins mit terminalen
Aminopropoxygruppen und einem Molekulargewicht unter 500 ist.
2. Verwendung nach Anspruch 1 dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß
das Polymerpolyamin ein Molekulargewicht von 1000 bis 8000
hat.
3. Verwendung nach einem der Ansprüche 1 oder 2 dadurch
gekennzeichnet, daß das Polyamin mit terminalen
Aminopropoxygruppen ein Molekulargewicht von 132 bis unterhalb 500 hat.
4. Verwendung nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 3 dadurch
gekennzeichnet, daß das Polymerpolyamin das Ergebnis der
Kondensation mit einem Polyamin mit terminalen
Aminopropoxygruppen ist, das das Hydrierprodukt eines cyanoethylierten
Polyols ist.
5. Verwendung nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 3 dadurch
gekennzeichnet, daß das Polymerpolyamin das Ergebnis der
Kondensation mit einem Polyamin mit terminalen
Aminopropoxygruppen ist, das durch die Aminierung eines Polyols mit zwei
oder mehreren sekundären Hydroxylgruppen gewonnen wurde.
6. Verwendung nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 5 dadurch
gekennzeichnet, daß das Polymerpolyamin das Ergebnis der
Kondensation mit einer Polycarbonsäure ist, ausgewählt aus
Bernsteinsäure, Glutarsäure, Adipinsäure oder einer Mischung
von zwei oder mehreren dieser Säuren.
7. Verwendung nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 5 dadurch
gekennzeichnet, daß das Polymerpolyamin das Ergebnis der
Kondensation mit einer Mischung der Dimethylester von
Bernsteinsäure, Glutarsäure und Adipinsäure im ungefähren
Gewichtsverhältnis von 1:3:1 ist.
8. Verfahren zur Herstellung eines
Polyurethan/Polyharnstoff- oder eines Polyharnstoff-Polymerproduktes, das
entweder zellulär oder nichtzellulär ist, durch die Umsetzung
eines organischen Polyisocyanates, eines Diamin-
Kettenerweiterers und eines isocyanatreaktiven Polymers,
gegebenenfalls in Gegenwart geeigneter Katalysatoren,
Blähmittel, weiterer Kettenerweiterer, Zusätze und
Hilfsmittel dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß mindestens ein Teil
des isocyanatreaktiven Polymers ein Polymerpolyamin nach
einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 7 ist.
9. Verfahren nach Anspruch 8 dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß
der Diamin-Kettenerweiterer ein aromatisches Diamin ist.
