Orientierungsbussole.
Orientation bus. The invention relates to an orientation bus.
The orientation buses or freehand bearing compasses known so far had one
Aiming device (viewfinder; target line, target glass, etc.) that only has a small section
Ides observation area recognized, or to adjust precisely to the target
was. These known devices have proven themselves in the case of direction switching to be carried out quickly,
such as B. when - use on fast moving vehicles, not proven, because in
in these cases, for example when a sailing yacht is constantly rocking,
Accurate sighting and reading of the compass is very difficult, if not entirely impossible
is.
The invention relates to an orientation bus that is provided with a handle
or an arrowhead passport that allows reading of the lateral directions or bearings for one
Enables a larger field of view even when the vehicle is moving heavily. The best
Observation would be made possible by a compass with a very large rose at its center
the eye of the observer would be. At this everyone appeared all around
To sit objects on the edge of the rose; you could be so immediate
after
read them the lateral directions or bearings. But such a device would be unwieldy.
The invention comes close to yours in that the rose as the inner mantle
a cylindrical drum is formed in a manner known per se. The innovation
consists in that the reading device for the division consists of an optical system,
Lenses o. The like., The front node point just above the pivot of the
Compass rose, and its focal length is the same as the radius of the rose, so that's it
virtual image of the compass rose within an extended field of view, conformal
coincides with the observation area, coast or the like. Such training
the Orientierungsbussole or the bearing compass can be z. B. for a field of view
of about two lines. All rays of light that then come from one line
the rose drum go out, are after leaving the lens housing the after
Nodal point directed beam parallel and thus have the direction
which the output line indicates. The observer's eye therefore sees this compass line
Hovering in the correct bearing in the distance, wherever he is with the appropriate points
of the observation area, coast or the like, coincides. This compilation will
also not disturbed when the lens system with the whole Iz, -oznpaßgehäuse around the
Node is rotated, because then only shifts (read field of view both
in nature as well as in the rose image, and evenly.
The use of cylindrical or conical compass roses is
known per se, but not for the present purpose, the virtual image
to bring the compass rose into conformal coverage with the coast or the like. Even
the use of mirrors and prisms, including those with curved surfaces,
is known for orientation buses, but only for the target device or
for the purpose of enlarging the graduation of the rose so that it can be read off
to facilitate.

The Koni pass housing o_. is suspended in a known manner in the cardanic ring b, which is carried by a handle c with a handle (Fig. 2). The foot d mounted in the housing a carries, by means of the needle f forming the pivot pin, the rose R, which is designed as a drum and on the lower surface of which the magnets are in a known manner. are attached. The cylindrical inner wall of the drum R bears the well-known image of the compass rose, which is exposed through a window g in the cover of the housing. A tube 1a is also embedded in the cover, which is equipped with a totally reflecting prism i., A mirror n and, for example, three lenses L ', L2 and L 3. Instead of the lens system, a mirror arrangement could also be provided. The focal length of the lens system is equal to the radius of the rose drum so that the front nodal point of the lens system flies exactly over the center of the rose, ie over its pivot and the focal plane of the system touches the drum wall of the rose. In the schematic representation of Fig. 3, P denotes the pupil of the eye. L ', L2 and La are the three lenses chosen here. K is their front node. HI and HZ denote the main planes and F the focal plane of the system. R is the cylindrical rose, A the view of the terrain section, coast or the like, and B the virtual image of the rose.
When the observer holding the compass through the lens system
looks at the rose, he always sees the relevant line of the rose at the correct angle
coincide with the point in question on the coast, so that a reading of the directions
or bearings without further ado with ease and also independent of the fluctuations
of the vehicle, ship. Aircraft or the like. Is possible.
