Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a method and a device for composting waste.
The composting of waste requires an intensive supply of oxygen to the aerobic microorganisms in the waste batch. The waste mixture consists partly of easily biodegradable organic substance, biologically difficult to decompose organic substance and biologically non-decomposable organic substance. Since waste composting is a technical process that, for economic reasons, is usually only equipped with simple technical means - e.g. a conversion device for ventilation on rents - this invention is intended to contribute to better compost quality in a shorter time with cheaper ones To achieve manufacturing costs.
The usual composition of the mixture of municipal settlements waste offers favorable living conditions for aerobic microorganisms so that an exponential increase in a change in climatic parameters in the shortest possible time required.
The following Fig. 1 shows in a general graphical representation the change in the logarithm of the cell number as a function of time for a bacterial culture on an appropriate culture medium. Fig. 2 shows the change in the degradable organic substance as a function of time, as well as the individual microbial development phases in household waste or household-like waste, also in a general graphical representation.
In the previous waste composting, in addition to the desired degradation of organic substances in the waste batch to Purposes of stabilization on the remaining base substrate new microbial development phases are always initiated, without a significant reduction in the base substrate would be enough. It was found that the biological Hardly degradable cell wall remains of dead microorganisms even increase the amount of base substrate.
In the start-up phase, the microorganisms adapt to the available nutrients in the waste to be broken down. This usually happens on the way to the composting plant. The exponential phase is characterized by cell division. The division rate is a milieu-dependent variable. The "milieu" or "climate" is determined by the parameters that can be influenced by the process technology: humidity - heat - air. If the available nutrient medium (biodegradable organic substance) of aerobic microorganisms is to be degraded in the shortest possible time (because it is economically necessary), the most favorable conditions must be created for the technically influenceable climate parameters.
Die Zellteilungsrate bestimmt die Zeit der Verfahrensdauer. The cell division rate determines the time of the procedure.
Once the easily biodegradable nutrient medium, especially cell juices (plasma), has been consumed by the largest possible amount of microorganisms and converted into thermal energy - carbon dioxide and water - the part of waste composting that can be influenced technically has come to an end.
Because the waste batch is biologically lighter and biologically contains more difficult to decompose organic components there is also a time difference for the duration of both Mining operations.
The question thus arose which of the two would be dismantled courses for waste disposal or recycling of the is more important process and what process to that for the soil leads to the cheapest compost.
According to the following definition, compost is "one in aerobic bio logical conversion of biomass ". It follows that the compost used to improve the soil is still in one aerobic biological conversion located and due to its Ingredients "poorly degradable organic residues, nutrients substances, humic substances, trace elements and spore formers "soil should bring improving effect and benefit. For the production of a compost of the above composition are a series of composting processes with appropriate devices has been developed.
So in the patents 19 29 767, 26 15 033, 27 05 720, 25 15 334, 23 31 622, 20 53 610, 33 30 542 as well Utility models 82 104 475, 81 400 373 and 82 103 538 reported each of the method and device that none Difference between composting biologically easier degradable organic substances and more biologically difficult make degradable organic substances. Biologically light The degradable organic substances are cell liquids (Plasma) of plants and animals and microorganisms, bio Logically more difficult to degrade organic substances are lignin and cellulose compounds from cell walls. The biological Ab construction of food that is easy to access for microorganisms The source of the cell fluids only lasts a few hours (1 to 72 hours) during the biodegradation of lignin and cellulosic organic matter weeks (30 to 300 days) lasts. The latter also plays a role in the latter substances Degree of disintegration and the surface susceptible to microorganisms area plays a crucial role, especially in plants. It is therefore desirable that the technically controlled Composting is only easier on biodegradation degradable organic substances concentrated and the Zer settlement of biodegradable organic substances of the compost in the ground. Through the biological Er Closing the cell juices also affects the function of the cell membranes destroyed. So that the water absorption capacity reduced by approx. 40% and the rotting mixture becomes foreign ventilation storable.
The invention is explained using the example of the drawing according to the following. Fig. 3 shows a schematic cross section through the device.
The present patent application takes into account the aforementioned knowledge, preferably by shredding the waste loose shape on air-permeable transportable Panels with holes are piled up. Thereby the The height (e.g. 1-3 m) of the fill should be such that the compression resulting from the weight of the batch if the moisture content in the batch changes, one more Ventilation with a low pressure fan of low electrical Performance over a wide area.
The portable plates are laid in rows 4 open on the floor 5 on cross member profiles so that each air inlet space 6 is ent, into which the air is blown. In this way, in the event of an air breakthrough at one point, it is prevented that all the air blown in under the base plates escapes without evenly supplying the aerobic organisms. Before preferably, the fresh air with the fans through the vertical side walls of the channels leads from top to bottom. It is possible to heat the air as a result of the heat transferred to the side walls. Since the condensation of the moisture contained in the air is prevented by falling below the dew point. This is also because to avoid that the channel bottom 5 is heat insulated 7 out. The air flowing in the feed pipe 8 at high speed occurs under the air-permeable base plate in the air box space and then flows over a wide area at a low speed (for example 80 m 3 / m 2 h) through the mixture 2 . The low flow rate ensures a favorable air distribution and supply to the microorganisms. The amount of air is adapted to the changing air requirements of the microorganisms by changing the speed of the fan or air flap control. When passing through the mixture, the air warms up and absorbs water up to the saturation limit. Since water is a metabolic product of the microorganisms, the relative and absolute moisture content decreases. The resulting compost thus has more advantageous storage and transport properties, since the air requirement drops as a result of depleted biological nutrient medium and dying microorganisms.
The air emerging from the mixture will continue to form unpleasant odors until the metabolic products that may be present in anaerobic microorganisms, eg "low fatty acids" - which may arise from long storage and transport times in the start-up phase before the process described here - are aerobically converted. The amount of air supplied, which is adapted to the microbial development, will also take into account the fact that not only does a favorable ambient temperature arise for the aerobically active microorganisms, but also temperatures (approx. 60 ° C.) at which human and veterinary pathogens are killed.
The ventilated plates on which the batch rests can be driven over with a transport and charger so that they can be loaded. The channel floor is also mobile with a charger, so that the plates can be individually lifted out and transported away with a batch. This eliminates the need for agile transport systems. The plate size is preferably approximately 1 × 2.5 m. The duct parts are also preferably to be made of the same size, so that the device can be enlarged or reduced according to the modular principle with grooves and projections 12 . Cross profiles 9 with openings 10 and support tubes 11 secure the air box space. The composting area is covered with the waste batch. Then the fans are switched on accordingly. The speed of the fans and the position of the air control flaps are adjusted to the air requirement. When the dying phase begins, the residual moisture in the batch is reduced with maximum fan power to such an extent that, in addition to the lack of nutrient substrate in the form of easily degradable organic substance, the environmental component "moisture" is also missing. The only thing left then is organic residues of the waste mixture and cell residues, as well as biologically non-decomposable constituents that are more difficult to decompose.
Another major advantage of the process is that that the batch to be composted is not moved as before must and after about 2 to 6 days a storable, from bagable compost is created. In the chemical evaluation of the Compost, according to the procedure hereby registered, falls especially on that the bad smells forming "low Fatty acids "have completely disappeared. Amino acids are only in small quantities (approx. 25% of the original amount present).
Because the formation of high molecular humic substances with high sorption capacity (300 to 500 mval / 100g) with longer composting there is a danger, possibly contained in the waste Defining pollutants will, after the dismantling of the biodegradable organic substances Drying, then the non-biodegradable part with the harmful substances attached to it (e.g. heavy metals or Salts) separated by sieving. For use as a floor Improved then comes a polluted compost.
Fig. 5 shows a further embodiment of a device according to the Invention. Here, the waste batch stratification or bed 2 receiving space is closed by a cover 21 ge. The closed cover 21 consists of a prefabricated garage. This has the advantage that a standard product on the market can be used, which leads to considerable cost savings. Instead of the prefabricated garage, a precast concrete part can be used, which can be steel-reinforced if necessary. The cover 21 has an exhaust air opening 22 on its upper side. At this exhaust air opening 22 , a channel 23 follows, which leads to an exhaust air cleaning system 24 . The cleaned exhaust air leaves the exhaust air purification system via opening 25 (see arrow 26 ). Press and leachate are collected centrally on the floor ( 42 ) and sprayed on the surface of the waste mixture by means of a pump so that the water can be evaporated and cleaned after the exhaust air cleaning system can be discharged into the receiving water. Otherwise, the embodiment shown in FIG. 5 has the same structure and mode of operation as the example shown in FIGS. 3 and 4. The fan 27 supplies fresh air to the air box space 6 (see arrow 28 ). Through the bottom plates 1 provided with holes, the fresh air enters the bed 2 and flows through this bed from bottom to top. As can be seen from FIG. 5, the bed 2 does not completely fill the space formed by the cover 21 . After the air has left the bed 2 above ver, it flows through the opening 22 and through the channel 23 in the exhaust air purification system 24 and then through the opening 25 into the open. It is thus possible to control the exhaust air flow and, in particular, to purify the exhaust air first before it is released into the open. In this way, for example, odor nuisance can be excluded.
It goes without saying that the lower part 29 of the entire device must be designed so that the cover 21 consisting of a prefabricated garage has space therein.
Fig. 6 shows the device shown in Fig. 5, but without the built-in and superstructure, that is without the fan, the plates and the cleaning system. The dimensions of the individual components can be seen directly from the drawing. The prefabricated garage 21 is located on the lower part 29 and has an opening 22 on its upper side. The plates who attached to the line 31 .
Sickerwassers. Fig. 7 shows the device of FIG. 6 in a side view. Fresh air can enter the interior of the device through the openings 31 (a total of six openings). The opening 42 (see also FIG. 6) serves for the central discharge or return of the press water or leachate.
Fig. 8 shows the device shown in Figs. 6 and 7 in a view from above. One recognizes the two right-angled exhaust air openings 22 .
FIG. 9 shows a side view which corresponds to the section shown in FIG. 6. Fig. 10 shows a simplified side view perpendicular to the view in Fig. 9. Fig. 11 shows a view from above of the device shown in Fig. 10 Darge.
