The invention relates to a glass door for fire protection purposes with a fire protection pane containing a protective agent that foams up in the event of a fire, as well as a supporting structure made of metal that supports and aligns the fire protection pane and to which the fittings required for opening and closing the glass door, e.g. hinges, are attached.
Such glass doors for fire protection purposes are used both as a single door and as a door element within a fire protection glazing made up of several glass surfaces. According to the German industrial standard DIN 4102 Part 13, fire protection glazing of fire resistance class F and fire resistance class G are known and explained in the respective requirements. The fire protection panes used are usually made up of several layers of glass panes with a fire protection layer arranged in between. In the event of a fire, a protective agent contained in this fire protection layer is activated, whereby the fire protection pane absorbs heat radiation and forms a highly effective insulating layer. This is accompanied by a clouding of the fire protection pane, so that the originally transparent glazing becomes a practically opaque fire protection wall.
This is especially true for fire protection panes made of relatively inexpensive float glass. The supporting structure that holds such fire protection panes at the edges is therefore subject to high demands.

gestellt. For this purpose, a well-known glass door for fire protection purposes uses a supporting structure made of a U-shaped steel profile that surrounds the fire protection pane on all sides at all edges. All functional parts of the door, e.g. the hinges and the lock parts, are attached to the closed steel frame.
This glass door offers optimum mechanical stability of the door frame. It does, however, require additional measures to ensure adequate fire protection behavior also in the area of the door gap. For this purpose, it is usually necessary to attach narrow strips of a fire protection material that foams up when exposed to heat to the outer surfaces of the steel frame. In the event of a fire, these strips expand and close the gap between the door frame and the door casing. Only through these additional measures can adequate fire protection behavior also be achieved in the area of the door gap.
The invention is based on the object of creating a glass door for fire protection purposes consisting of few parts and of a simple structure, which has improved fire protection behavior in the area of the door gap.
To solve this problem, it is proposed for a glass door for fire protection purposes of the type mentioned at the beginning that the support structure consists of non-connected support shoes, which are each arranged in corners of the fire protection pane and which each have a horizontal web section which rests on the horizontal front surface of the fire protection pane in the corner area, and which also have two flat legs! connected to one another via the web section, which rest on the flat sides of the fire protection pane in the corner area and in this way support the fire protection pane laterally.
The advantage is that the glass door according to the invention consists of only a few parts, and is also simple in construction.
According to a further development, a vertical web section is provided which is arranged at a right angle to the horizontal web section and which rests against the vertical front surface of the fire protection pane in the corner area.
• ··
In this case, it is also suggested that the horizontal web section, vertical web section and the two flat legs completely enclose the respective corner of the fire protection pane. This achieves the greatest possible stability of the support shoe, and also creates a particularly large-area connection between the support shoe and the fire protection pane, so that the deformation forces acting on the fire protection pane are kept to a minimum.
In order to achieve a particularly uniform pressure distribution between the connecting surfaces of the support shoe and the fire protection pane, according to a further embodiment of the glass door according to the invention, a silicone layer can be arranged between the inner surfaces of the support shoe and the fire protection pane.
Darin zeigen:Further details and advantages of the subject matter of the invention are explained below with reference to the drawings, in which:
Fig. 1 in einer Ansicht eine Glastür für Brandschutzzwecke;Fig. 1 is a view of a glass door for fire protection purposes;
Fig. 2 eine vergrößerte Schnittdarstellung des Eckenbereichs der Glastür gemäß Fig. 1 undFig. 2 an enlarged sectional view of the corner area of the glass door according to Fig. 1 and
Fig. 3 einen Schnitt entlang der in Fig. 2 dargestellten Linie W-IIi.Fig. 3 is a section along the line W-IIi shown in Fig. 2.
The glass door shown in Fig. 1 consists of a fire protection pane 1, which is held in a door frame 3 by means of two support shoes 2. The door frame 3 can in turn be part of a surrounding fire protection glazing. The connection between the support shoes 2 and the door frame 3 is made by means of hinge straps 4, which are welded to the support shoes 2.
The fire door is frameless, i.e. apart from the corner area of the glass door covered by support shoes 2, all other end faces 5, 6 of the fire protection pane 1 are free of frame parts. The end faces 5, 6 of the fire protection pane 1 therefore directly limit the surrounding door gap 7.
Details of the two support shoes 2 and their connection to the fire protection pane 1 are now explained using Figures 2 and 3.
Each support shoe 2 is made up of a horizontal web section 8, a vertical web section 9 and two flat legs 10, 11. The web sections 8, 9 rest against the front surfaces 5, 6 of the fire protection pane 1 with flat wooden blocks 12 in between. The remaining gaps are filled with silicone compound 13. In order to ensure that the outsides of the web sections 8, 9 run flush with the front surfaces 5, 6 of the fire protection pane, the fire protection pane 1 is provided with corresponding steps 14, 15 in the area of the corners.
The flat legs 10, 11 connected to both web sections 8, 9 rest, also with the interposition of silicone compound 13, on the flat sides 16, 17 of the fire protection pane 1 and support it in a lateral direction. The silicate compound 13 ensures a favorable pressure distribution of the support pressure of the flat legs 10, 11 on the flat sides 16, 17. In order to avoid the silicone compound 13 shifting when the support shoe is pushed on, the support shoe 2 can be made in two parts. The horizontal web section 8, the vertical web section 9 and the flat leg 11 form one part, which is initially placed on the fire protection pane 1, while the other part is formed by the flat leg 10. The connection is made by screws 19, which engage in threaded holes 18 in the thickened horizontal web section 8. Appropriate screws can also be inserted into the vertical web section 9 if necessary. It is also possible to weld the two parts of the support shoe 2.
An den nach außen weisenden Flächen der Stegab-In Fig. 3 it is shown that the fire protection pane 1 is a special laminated glass, which consists of several panes of glass 1a, 1b, 1c with fire protection layers 1d, 1e arranged between them. In the event of a fire, these fire protection layers 1d, 1e are activated, absorbing heat radiation and thus forming an effective insulating layer that prevents the passage of fire and smoke. The activation of the fire protection layers 1d, 1e in the event of a fire causes them to foam up and become cloudy, so that a practically opaque fire protection wall is created. On the outward-facing surfaces of the web partition,
Narrow strips of a material that foams when exposed to heat can be arranged in sections 8, 9.
