The production of compounds of this type is described in the literature (cf.H ο u b e η - Weyl, Vol. Xl / l, p. 31 Iff.). However, it wasn't known to be useful for the purposes described herein. The products to be used according to the invention are characterized on the one hand by their high leveling effect, that of that of permanent retarders equals. In other words, because of its great leveling effect, just one application is sufficient relatively small amount of auxiliaries in order to obtain a completely even color. In doing so, they behave on the other hand, are still at the same time as temporary retarders. That means that also an intentional or accidental gross overdose cannot cause harm; a reservation of polyacrylonitrile materials with all its detrimental consequences can no longer occur. It can also be a cumbersome computational effort are completely omitted here.
Thus, basic dyes and leveling aids can be used on structures made of polyacrylonitrile level colorations are then produced in a particularly simple and risk-free manner if according to the invention a compound of the general formula (I) is used as leveling aid. As part of the usual dyeing time is a practically complete exhaustion of the dye baths, even if accidentally Overdosage of leveling aid reached.
It was also not foreseeable, especially for the person skilled in the art, that the invention would lead to The compounds used are suitable as industrially useful leveling auxiliaries for polyacrylonitrile dyeing could, least of all, could not have been foreseen that they could be temporary retarders. It is true It is known from the literature that practically all long-chain amines because of their competition with the likewise cationic Dyes have a retarding effect on the latter (cf.
Cohen and Ender, American Dyestuff Reporter 1958, p. 325). So far, however, they have always been considered (highly) permanent (see, for example, cabbage, surfactants 2, p. 76). In addition, only quaternary ammonium salts have so far proven themselves technically as retarders, because primary, secondary or tertiary amine salts with a chain of 12 or more carbon atoms in the salt-based dye baths are not sufficiently salt-resistant, but tend to flocculate and become remove or cream - which of course must lead to major disruptions in the dyeing process.
The compounds to be used according to the invention show three effects which are unique in comparison to all other long-chain amine salts tested to date and which could not have been foreseen by the person skilled in the art: long hydrocarbon chains have a temporary character and they have 3. optimal leveling effect only with a degree of oxethylation of m + π - 2 to 3.
For the salt resistance of the compounds to be used according to the invention, it is crucial that that the products are practically free of all primary and secondary amine residues. That’s for the Manufacture to be careful.
(I). What is striking is the high selection specificity of the retarder effect according to the invention, which is limited to a relatively narrowly defined small group of derivatives. Only the pure tertiary bis-oxyalkylamines with in and η = 1 in the general form have the optimal combination of a temporary character with the extensive wedge of a permanent retarder! (I). Both an increase in the degree of oxyalkylation and a shortening of the chain of the long alkyl radical lead to such a great decrease in the leveling effect that it is of no interest to produce products from amines with a chain length of less than 16 carbon atoms or those with more than 3 mol of an alkylene oxide have been reacted.
The compounds to be used according to the invention are expediently used as solutions. The compounds of the formula (I) or the free amines on which they are based are preferably used in the same amount by weight of 80 to 100% strength aqueous or alcoholic acetic acid dissolved. You then get a clear and thin 50% igc setting, which is particularly suitable for practical use.
The compounds to be used according to the invention are useful as leveling auxiliaries in all dyeings of basic dyes on fibers or textiles of any kind made from acrylonitrile-containing polymers are produced, extremely effective. The fiber material can be polyacrylonitrile or a polyacrylonitrile copolymer.
Basic dyes are, for. B. dyes of the di- and triarylmethane series, the indolyl and diindolylarylmethane series, Oxazine, thiazine, diazine, indulin and cyanine dyes as well as the basic azo and azamethine dyes to understand.
A mixture of two or more compounds of the formula (I) can also be used as a leveling aid be used. The compound or the mixture of compounds is expediently in Form a solution to the dyebath in an amount of 0.3 to 3%, based on the weight of the to be dyed Materials, added.

It is dyed for 90 minutes at 98 ° C. and a perfect, level red-violet dyeing is obtained. This can be shown by placing 10 g of polyacrylonitrile yarn on each laboratory dyeing device Pretreated for 1 hour at 98 ° C with 0.45 g / liter (III or IV) and 0.675 ml of glacial acetic acid. Then the baths 0.225 g each of the above dye were added and the dyeing was carried out at 98 ° C. for 1 hour.
