Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a rear suspension for bicycles, in particular those for off-road use, with a frame, an upper and a lower Handlebars that are hinged to the frame, a triangular swing arm, in which the Rear wheel is rotatably mounted and on the one acting on the rear wheel brake device is attached, the rocker with the free ends of the two links is articulated, and with a spring-damper element, which on the frame is steered and articulated with one of the moving parts.
Currently, three of them are mainly in the beige for spring-loaded bikes added drawings schematically illustrated systems for suspension of the rear wheel used.
In the system shown in Fig. 6, the rear wheel and the bottom bracket are fixed in a rocker with a fixed pivot point. This pivot point is usually about 10 to 30 cm above the bottom bracket. The longitudinal pole L of the wheel suspension is determined by the pivot point of the rocker, which leads to large drive and brake support angles ε A , ε B. Large drive support angles ε A are particularly advantageous for the traction behavior at the slip limit of the wheel (uphill on loose ground), since here the drive forces are linked to rebound tendencies and thus increase the wheel contact force. This advantage is offset by some serious disadvantages. The fact that the bottom bracket is mounted in the swing arm, only the weight portion of the rider transmitted via the saddle is fully sprung; the proportion of weight introduced via the pedals is only partially suspended. The relatively high pivot point of the swing arm creates large brake support angles ε B and thus deflection tendencies when braking, which in particular on loose ground when driving downhill to brake the rear wheel (stamping) and thus lead to unstable driving conditions. The consequence of this is, on the one hand, poorer controllability of the brake when braking and, on the other hand, an extension of the braking distance and thus a loss of safety, which is why this wheel guidance system is rarely used today.
In Fig. 7, a system known as a articulated wheel guide is shown schematically. The rear wheel is attached to a swing arm with a fixed pivot point. This pivot point is generally near the bottom bracket. Unlike the drive swing arm, the bottom bracket is attached to the frame in the single-joint wheel guide. The longitudinal pole L of the wheel suspension is the pivot point of the swing arm. The brake support angle ε B is determined by the wheel contact point and the swing arm pivot point, as with the drive swing arm. The drive support angle ε A is determined by the wheel contact point and the drive longitudinal pole L A , which in turn is formed by the intersection of the pole beam of the chain hoist strand and the pole beam from the longitudinal pole L of the wheel suspension (pivot point) to the wheel center. In contrast to the drive swing arm, the entire driver's weight is sprung with the single-joint wheel guide. The drive support angle ε A is usually large enough to ensure good traction. The brake support angle ε B is usually smaller than that of the drive arm, but is still too large for the shortest possible braking distances. Due to the compromise between simple, inexpensive design and acceptable driving characteristics, the single-jointed wheel guide is currently the mainly used wheel guide system.
In Fig. 8, a rear suspension of the type mentioned is shown cal matically. This called as four-link wheel guide rear wheel suspension consists of two trailing arms, of which the upper is usually shorter and the lower, longer one is arranged in the area between the bottom bracket and the rear wheel axle (chainstay). The two trailing arms guide the wheel by means of a wheel carrier designed as a tubular construction. The longitudinal pole which is decisive for the brake support angle ε B in this system is a virtual pole which is formed by the intersection of the pole beams of the two trailing arms. The longitudinal pole L therefore moves in the plane depending on the deflection state. The longitudinal drive pole L A, which is decisive for the drive support angle ε A, is determined analogously to the single-joint wheel guide. The entire driver's weight is suspended on the four-bar wheel guide. Because of the long cantilevered chainstays (lower trailing arm), the lateral stiffness of this wheel guide is mostly insufficient, which is particularly noticeable when pedaling (standing rider, large lateral forces in the bottom bracket area).
The invention has for its object the rear suspension of a gangs mentioned in such a way that through a targeted Movement of the longitudinal pole L depending on the deflection state of the wheel guide can optimize the braking and traction behavior of a bicycle.
According to the invention, this object is achieved in that the front end the upper handlebar is hinged to the frame and the rear end with the Swing arm is articulated and that the rear end of the lower link is hinged to the frame and the front end is articulated to the swing arm that is.
By means of these design measures, depending on the state of compression of the rear wheel of a bicycle, a movement of the longitudinal pole L and the drive longitudinal pole L A is achieved, which enables optimum braking and traction behavior. A small brake support angle ε B is reached when driving downhill (the rear wheel is partially rebound) and a large drive support angle ε A is reached when driving uphill (rear wheel is partially sprung).
The spring damper element can be with the upper or with the lower Len ker or be articulated with the rocker.
In view of the transverse rigidity of the wheel suspension, the two Len ker be as short and stiff as possible.
According to an advantageous development of the invention, it is provided that the articulation of the upper link with the frame or with the swing arm is detachable. By loosening the articulation, the bike space can be folded to save.
Es zeigt:An embodiment of the invention is shown in the drawings and is explained in more detail below. It shows:

In the bicycle shown in Fig. 1, the rear wheel 1 is held by a triangular swing arm 2 , on which a device acting on the rear wheel Bremseinrich device 3 is attached. In the embodiment shown, the braking device 3 is designed as a rim brake, but it could also be a disc brake. The triangular rocker 2 is in turn guided by a lower and an obe ren trailing arm 4 , 5 . More specifically, the triangular rocker arm 2 is pivotally connected to the front end of a 4/3 of the lower link 4 and the rear end 5/1 of obe ren arm. 5 The rear end of the 4/2 of the lower arm 4 and the front end 5/2 of the upper link 5 is in each case directed to the vehicle frame 6 at. The frame 6, a spring-damper element 7 is also hinged, the hinged in egg nem item 4/1 with the lower arm. 4 It is apparent to the person skilled in the art that the spring-damper element 7 could also be connected in an articulated manner to the upper link 5 or to the triangular rocker 2 in order to fulfill its function. Regardless of the type of articulation of the spring-damper element 7 , a spring-damper ratio of 0.35 to 0.5 which is favorable for mountain bikes can be achieved.
Auf das Fahrverhalten hat dies folgende Auswirkungen:As explained above, the longitudinal pole L is determined by the intersection of the pole beams of the two trailing arms 4 and 5 . The longitudinal pole L is therefore influenced by the deflection of the rear wheel. The row of points formed by the longitudinal pole L, the so-called instantaneous pole path, is designated P L. As was also explained at the beginning, the drive longitudinal pole L A is influenced by the direction of the chain hoist strand. The direction of the chain hoist side depends on the one hand on the deflection state of the rear wheel and on the other hand on the gear engaged, ie on the size of the chainring and the pinion used. This has the following effects on driving behavior:
When driving in the plane shown in Fig. 3, the rear wheel is approximately in the construction position, and the large chainring is used. The longitudinal pole L lies approximately in the area between the bottom bracket and the center of the front wheel. The brake support angle ε B is thus at the level of the known four-bar system, which leads to good braking behavior. Depending on the gear selected, the longitudinal drive pole L A lies far in front or behind the rear wheel, which leads to very small drive support angles ε A and thus to a slight mutual influence of drive and suspension. This is advantageous for dynamic shocks, such as those that occur when driving on a flat surface.
In the embodiment shown in Fig. 4 ride uphill most of the Fahrerge Klobuk is shifted to the rear wheel, whereby this compresses one piece. The driver uses the lower gears. The longitudinal pole L and the drive longitudinal pole L A accordingly shift, as shown in FIG. 4. The brake support angle ε B is of no importance when driving uphill because of the low speeds. At the longitudinal drive pole L A is moved ben above the deflection upwards ben, and the drive support angle ε A , is larger, which is particularly advantageous in steep, difficult terrain because of the resulting gain in traction.
When in Fig. 5 shown ride downhill much of the rider's weight is shifted to the front wheel, the rear wheel is relieved and springs from something. Since there is generally no drive downhill, the drive support angle ε A has little influence on the driving behavior. When driving downhill, the brake support angle ε B is decisive; the smaller it gets, the better the braking performance. As shown, the longitudinal pole L moves forward via the rebound movement of the rear wheel, and the brake support angle ε B approaches 0 °. Due to the deep arrangement of the upper trailing arm 5 , an almost full retraction of the seat post 8 is possible, which is a great advantage when driving downhill.
With the illustrated and above-described rear wheel suspension, the traction behavior of the post steering wheel guide when driving uphill (large drive support angle ε A) with the advantages of known Viergelenkradführung when driving downhill (smaller brake support angle ε B) combined.
The articulated connection of the upper link 5 with the frame 6 or with the rocker 2 is advantageously designed to be detachable. For transport in a motor vehicle, the bicycle can be folded to save space after loosening the articulated connection. Various types of such removable joint connections are known to the person skilled in the art.
