Muffenverbindung Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf eine Muffenverbindung für Rohre
mit einer zwischen dem glatten Einsteckrohrende und der Muffe angeordneten elastischen
Dichtung. Sie bezweckt die Schaffung einer verbesserten Dichtung, die sich insbesondere

Eine häufig für Muffenverbindungen verwendete Dichtung ist die Gummirolldichtung.
Sie besteht aus einer auf das Einsteckrohrende aufgezogenen mit einer Randwulst
versehenen Manschette, die beim Einschieben des Einsteckrohrendes in die Muffe aufgerollt
wird. Nachteilig ist hierbei, dass das Aufrollen der Manschette nicht immer gleichmässig
erfolgt, wodurch die Zuverlässigkeit der Abdichtung beeinträchtigt und gelegentlich
auch eine exzentrische Lage des Einsteckrohrendes und der Muffe herbeigeführt wird.
Ein weiterer Nachteil besteht darin, daß zwischen dem Rollring und dem freien Muffenende
ein für den Zutritt von Fremdstoffen zugänglicher Ringraum gebildet wird.
Eine andere bekannte Dichtung für Muffenverbindungen bei
aus einem zwischen dem Einsteckrohrende und der Muffe eingeklemmten Ring aus Gummi
o. dgl., der an der Innenseite oder Aussenseite oder an beiden Seiten mit sägezahnförmig
profilierten Ringrippen versehen ist. Dieser Gummiring füllt den Ringraum zwischen
Einsteckrohrende und Muffe nahezu vollständig aus. Die Ringrippen sollen sich beim
Einpressen des Gummiringes umlegen und das Herausrutschen des Ringes aus dem Ringraum
verhindern. Zur Erhöhung der Lagensicherung des Dichtungsringes kann dieser mit
dem Einsteckrohrende oder der Muffe verklebt werden.A seal often used for socket connections is the rubber roll seal. Erfindungsgemäss besteht die Dichtung aus einer auf das glatte Einsteckrohrende
aufgezogenen, an der Aussenseite mindestens auf einem Teil ihrer Länge mit schmalen
ringförmigen Dichtlippen versehenen Manschette, die an dem einen Ende mit einem
ringförmigen Innenvorsprung sich gegen die Stirnfläche des Einsteckrohrendes abstützt
und an dem anderen Ende einen das Muffenende schalenförmig umfassenden Flansch aufwehst.
Durch diese Dichtungsmanschette wird der Ringraum zwischen dem Einsteckrohrende
und der Muffe vollständig abgeschlossen. Da das Verrutschen der Dichtungsmanschette
zuverlässig durch den mit der Stirnfläche des Einsteckrohrendes zusammenwirkenden
Innenringvorsprungs einerseits und durch den das Muffenende umgreifenden Flansch
andererseits verhindert wird, haben die ringförmigen Dichtlippen an der Aussenseite
der Manschette lediglich die Aufgabe der Abdichtung und können entsprechend ausgebildet
werden. Die Höherer Dichtlippen beträgt zweckmässigerweise ein Vielfaches der Breite.
Als Werkstoff für die Dichtungmanschette
eignet sich besonders
