Description
Die Erfindung betrifft ein verbesserte Verfahren aur Herstellung von Dimeren und Codimeren von α-Olefinen.
Wertvolle Diraere und Oodimere von geradkettigen «-Olefinen
mit zwei bie vier G-Atomen, wie Äthylen, Propylen, Buten,
und Codimere von Äthylen mit Vinyloyolohexen werden gemäß der Erfindung leioht in erhöhten Ausbeuten und mit erhöhten
U**tttzen hergeetellt» indem die ot~01ef ine in Gegenwart ei» a
Hiokelseleee ungeeetit werden, dae mit einer Aluminiumalkylverbindung und einem Halogenid, das zusammen mit dem Niokel
vorliegt oder von einer dritten Komponente geliefert wird, gemischt ist·
Ale Nickelsalze eignen sioh beispielsweise Salze von anorganischen und organischen Säuren, z.B. Niokelohlorid, Nickeljodid, Hiokelbromid, tfiokelaulfat, Niokelacetat, Niokeloxalat u· dergl·, sowie Chelate, wie Mckelaoetylaoetonat, in
dem da· Niokelatom an zwei funktionelle Gruppen einea Moleküle duroh eine Hauptvalenz und durch eine Koordinativbindung gebunden ist«
Die Alumlniumalkylverbindungen haben die Formel RoAl, in der
M ein Alkylrest mit zwei bis zwölf, vorzugsweise zwei bis aoht O-Atomen ist· Typ^isohe Verbindungen sind Aluminiumtri-

Die Menge der verwendeten Katalysatorkomponenten kann zwischen
etwa 0,0001 und 10 mMol liegen und beträgt vorzugsweise etwa 0,001 bis 1büo1 pro Mol α-Olefin, wobei das Molverhältnis
von Aluminiumalkyl zu Nickelsalz mehr als 1:1 bis 10:1 beträgt.
Zur Herstellung der Dimeren und Codimeren kann der Katalysator
wie folgt hergestellt werden» Die Komponenten werden getrennt in einen Reaktor gegeben» und zwar vorzugsweise entweder
in dem zu dimerisierenden α-Olefin oder in einem inerten
Lösungsmittel wie Benzol oder Toluol. Jede der Katalysatorkomponenten
kann zuerst eingesetsst und die andere allmählich
zugesetzt werden, während das gesamte Reaktionagemisoh
gerührt wird. Diese© in ei tu ode» getrennt hergestellte
Heaktionsgemisch wird in Gegenwart des oc-Olefins auf
eine Temperatur von etwa -20 bis 1500C, voreugeweiee von
10 bie 6O0O erhitzt. Die Reaktion wird unter einem solchen
Druck durchgeführt, daß die Reaktioneteilnehmer in flüssigen
Zustand bleiben. Dieser Bruefc felngt τοη der Reaktion*-»
temperatur und dem Olefin afc vmATw tragt beispielsweise bei
Propylen bei -300O 2 Ata», bei 5O0C 20 ASa., bei 850O
40 Ata· und bei Äthylen bei O0O 40 At*. Nach der Reaktion
wird das überschüssige α-Olefin entfernt und das Produkt
zur Isolierung der gewünschten Produkte destilliert«
Der Katalysator kann gegebenenfalls auoh Busätzliche Elektronendonatoren
enthalten* Bekannt für diesen Zweck eind beispielsweise Tributylphosphin, Triphenylphosphin, Triiaoootylphosphin
u» dergl. Halogenhaltige Olefine sind sowohl
als Elektronendonatoren als auch als Quelle de«· Halogenide wirksam, wenn dieses erforderlich ist, wie es der Fall ist,
wenn ein Nickelsalz und nicht ein Halogenid verwendet wird. Geeignet ist beispielsweise ein Gemisch von Nickelaoetylacetonat,

neter halogenhaltiger Olefine sind Crotylchlorid, 2-Brompropen-1,
1-Brompropen-i, 3-0hlor-2-methylpropen, 3-Chlorpropen,
1-Chlorpropen-i, 2-Chlorpropen-1, 3~Chlorpropen-1
und 2-Chlorbuten-2. Bevorzugt werden halogenhaltige Olefine, vorzugsweise solche, die zwei "bis acht C-Atome und Chlor
oder Brom enthaltene Die verwendete Menge des Elektronendonators kann innerhalb weiter Grenzen liegen, "beträgt jedoch
normalerweise etwa 0,001 bis 100 mMol pro Mol Olefin, vorzugsweise etwa 0,01 bis 25 mMol·
Geeignet als Katalysatoren sind Kombinationen aus UiCIo oder
NiBrp mit einem Aluminiumtrialkyl sowie aus einem Nickelsalz,
einem Aluminiumtrialkyl und einem Alkenylhalogenido %
In einer Reihe von Versuchen wurden Nickelbromid und ein
Elektronendonator in 2/3 des verwendeten Be^olvolumens in
einen sauerstoff- und feuchtigkeitsfreien Kolben gegeben« Dann wurde Aluminiumtriisobutyl im Rest des Benzols langsam
unter Rühren zugesetzt. Der erhaltene Katalysator wurde dann in einen Autoklaven gegeben, der mit Argon gespült, verschlossen
und mit Propylen aufgedrückt wurde. Der Autoklav wurde
erhitzt, und nach etwa 24 Stunden wurde der Druck entspannt und das Reaktionsprodukt destilliert. Der Umsatz betrug 95$.
Die Mengen des Nickelbromids und des Elektronendonators in
mMol, des Propylene in kg, des Benzols und des Aluminiumtri- ™
isobutyls in ml, die Temperatur in 0C und die Produktausbeute
in Prozent sind in der folgenden Tabelle angegebene

Bei einer Wiederholung dieses Versuche mit STiekelbromid
und Aluminiumtriisobutyl und mit Äthylen oder Äthylen und Propylen werden ähnliche gute Ausbeuten an ^imeren und
Oodimeren erhalten«
Diese Olefindimeren und -codimeren haben viele technische
Anwendungen. Beispielsweise läßt sich 4-Methylpenten-2 zu 4-Methylpenten-1 dimerisieren und mit reduzierten Metallkatalysatoren,
25.B0 den bekannten reduzierten Titankatalysatoren vom Ziegler-Typ, unter Bildung wertvoller Kunststoffe
leicht polymerisieren«
Bei der Oodimerisierung von Äthylen mit Vinylcyclohexen
kann das Halogen durch Alky!aluminiumhalogenide der Formel
R(1~2)A1X(2-1)' in der X für cillor 0(3θΓ Brom und R für
einen Alkylrest steht und der Alkylrest zwei bis zwölf,
vorzugsweise zwei bis acht ö-ltome enthält und R + X « 3
ist, zugeführt werden. Typische Verbindungen dieser Art sind Dialkylaluminiumhalogenide und Alkylalumlniumd!halogenide,
wie Äthylaluminiumdichlorid, Dipropylaluminiumchlorid,
Diisobutylaluminiumchlorid, Butylaluminiumdiohlorid, Dihexylaluminiumbromid,
Athylaluminiumsesguiohlorid u. dergl.
Die Katalysatorkombination kann hierbei Al, M und ein
Halogenid, z«B. ein Aluminiumtrialkyl und ein Nickelhaloge- |
nid oder ein Aluminlumalkyl, ein Alkenylhalogenid und ein
Niokelsalz oder ein Niokelsalz und ein Aluminiumalkylhalogenid
u. dergl· in einem Molverhältnis von mehr als 1 Mol
Aluminiumalkylhalogenid pro Mol Nickel bis zu einem Molverhältnie
von 10» 1 enthalten«,
Zu 70 g Oyolohexen, das in einem sauerstoff- und feuchtigkeitsfreien
Heaktor enthalten war, wurden 2 g (9 mMol)
Hiokelbromid und 1,76 ml (18 mMol) 3-Chlor-2-methylpropen
gegeben· Dann wurden langsam unter Rühren 4,5 g Diisobutylaluminiumchlorid
in 20 g Vinyloyolohexen in den Reaktor ge-

geben. Der erhaltene Katalysator wurde in einen Autoklaven überführt, der mit Argon gespült, verschlossen und mit 50 g
Äthylen aufgedrückt wurde. Nach einigen Stunden bei Umgebungstemperatur wurde der Druck entspannt und das Produkt
abdestilliert. Folgende Produktverteilung wurde erhalten: 52$ 4-(1-Butenyl)cyclohexen, 4% 4(oc-Methylenpropyl)cyclohexen,
10$ 4-Äthylidencyclohexen und 34$ 4-Vinylcyclohexen.
Diese Reaktion wurde dann mit 18 mMol 1,4~Dichlorbuten~2
wiederholt. Hierbei wurde folgende Produktverteilung erhalten: 52$ 4(1-Butenyl)cyclohexen, 12$ 4(oc-Methylenpropyl)-cyclohexen,
17$ 4-Äthylidenoyolohexen und 19$ 4-Vinylcyclohexeno
Wenn der Versuch in Abwesenheit des Chlorolefine wiederholt wird, werden gute Ausbeuten an Butenylcyclohexen
erhaltene
Das 4(1-Butenyl)cyclohexen läßt sich leicht nach bekannten Verfahren zu 4(3-Butenyl)cyolohexen ieomerisieren« das
dann mit Äthylen oder Äthylen und Propylen unter Verwendung eines Ziegler-Katalysatore auf Basis von reduziertem Titan
interpolymerisiert werden kann, wobei ein mit Schwefel vulkanisierbares
Elastomeres erhalten wird.

Claims (7)
- PatentansprücheΓ) Verfahren zur Herstellung von Dimeren und Codimeren vona-Olefinen mit 2 bis 4 Kohlenstoffatomen und Codimeren von Äthylen mit Vinylcyclohexen, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß man die cc-Olefine mit einem Nickelsalz, einer Aluminiumalkylverbindung und einem Halogenid in Berührung ' bringt.
- 2) Verfahren nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß ™ man als oc-Olefin Äthylen, Propylen oder Buten-1 und als Aluminiumalkylverbindung eine solche der Formel IUAl einsetzt, worin R ein Alkylrest mit 2 bis 12 Kohlenstoffatomen ist.
- 3) Verfahren nach Anspruch 1 und 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das molare Verhältnis von Aluminiumalkyl zu Nidelsalz größer als 1 ist und die gesamte Menge von beiden etwa 0,001 bis 1 mMol des Olefins beträgt.
- ^) Verfahren nach Anspruch 1 bis 3* dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß man als Nickelsalz Nickelbromid oder Nickelchlorid λ einsetzt.
- 5) Verfahren nach Anspruch 1 bis 4, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß ein Elektronendonator aus der Gruppe Alkylphosphite, Alkyl phosphine, ArylphosXphine ur.d der halogenenthalt enden Olefine, vorzugsweise solehe Olefine, die 2 bis 8 Kohlenstoffatome und Chlor oder Brom enthalten, in einer Menge von 0,1 bis 10 mMol je Mol Olefin vorliegt.
- 6) Verfahren nach Anspruch 5, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß man als llickelsalz Nickelaeetylacetonat verwendet.10981^/2091 ««oma««.1668U2
- 7) Verfahren nach Anspruch 1 bis 6, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß man Äthylen mit Vinyleyelohexen dimerisiert, wobei man als Aluminiumalkylverbindung eine solche der Formel R(l-2)^1X(2-]) verwen<*et, worin X Chlor oder Brom, R ein Alkylrest mit 2 bis 12 Kohlenstoffatomen und R + X = 3 ist.109815/2091 BAD OR1GINAL
