技术领域
本发明大体涉及一种可同时显示两种视频节目和一电子节目导航(“EPG”)的电视接收器。该EPG显示在包含画中画(PIP)显示的分画面的第一部分中。当用户观看在分画面第二部分中显示的原始视频节目的同时，可以通过检索EPG，使不同的视频节目显示在PIP显示中。
本发明的背景技术
在传统的画中画(“PIP”)电视接收器中，电视从至少两个输入源中得到视频，并将其合成为一个图像。PIP模式合成的图像包括一占据图像全部尺寸的主要部分，和一个或多个按一定比例缩小的只占整个图像的一小部分的PIP部分。该PIP部分通常整体包含在图像的主要部分中。
图像的PIP部分可自由的位于主图像的任意位置，如图1a所示。图像的PIP部分也可以被随意放大(或缩小)，如图1b所示。
在多画面显示模式中，从电视工业公知的画外画(“POP”)技术可知，两个或多个不重叠的显示区域以拼合的方式被显示在显示屏上。各显示区域显示各独立视频源的视频，并可改变尺寸和形状。多窗口特性的最佳实施例将区域的数目限制为两个相同尺寸的相邻显示的画面(画面1和画面2)，如图2所示。实际上，显示屏包括两个主区域。
电视***还可包括多种不同类型的显示在屏幕上的节目导航，从而向观众提供节目信息。PCT WO 97/34413中公开了一种这样的***。EPG是一种提供一屏或多屏节目列表的类型。这些列表可包括目前正在播放的节目和将要播放的节目。EPG包括一用于显示当前正在播放节目的PIP窗口。观众可通过在EPG正在播出节目的列表中移动光标，改变PIP中显示的节目。
这些电视***的问题是当通过交互式EPG滚动选择和观看其它视频节目时，你不能观看一个视频节目。
本发明概述
本发明克服了上述问题，其技术手段是通过一具有交互式PIP EPG的分屏，使用户在观看第一半显示屏中显示的第一视频节目的同时，可以在第二半显示屏中使用EPG，从EPG中选择节目，并在PIP中显示该节目。这提供了一种电视，它在允许观众通过交互式的EPG和PIP搜索其它观看节目的同时，显示一个视频节目。
本发明的其它目的和优点将从实施例中表现出来。

最佳实施例
图3为一方块图，示出了本发明的电视接收机。PIP调谐器11接收从一视频源，如天线、缆线、或VCR的NTSC/PAL调制输出，输出的视频信号。IF滤波器/解调器12从调谐器输出的信号中去除带内音频信号和相邻信道的载波，然后将剩下的(亮度、色度、同步信号)作为合成视频信号输出到PIP处理器14中。输入PIP处理器13的视频源可包括任何内容，包括产生的图形和数字视频。PIP处理器13的输出为缩小的视频信号。该缩小的信号被输入视频混合器14中，该混合器接收至少两个视频源，并将其以任何可编程的方式合成。此时，视频混合器14将PIP处理器13的输出和EPG信号合成。视频混合器14的输出15为EPG主尺寸的显示画面，此时PIP显示调谐器11接收的视频信号。合成的信号被输出到双屏显示模块20中，该模块还通过第二调谐器(未示出)或从另一信号源中接收另一视频信号(视频源1)。名词‘调谐器’这里指卫星、NTSC/PAL、ATSC或有线调谐器等。双屏模块20将第二视频源和合成的PIP EPG信号合成，生成第三图像画面21，该画面中，视频源1的视频内容被显示在屏面1上，该屏面为不包含PIP子图的屏面，EPG画面(视频源2)被显示在屏面2中，该屏面为包含PIP子图(视频源3)的屏面。第二屏面中的PIP子图被用于显示EPG中所列频道的视频。
在本发明最佳实施例中，第一视频源是从一DVD或VCR中输出的，因此用户在浏览EPG寻找电视节目的同时，可以观看一电影。图4更详细的示出双屏模块20的输出21的画面，其中左侧屏面22包含一从外部视频源(如一VCR或DVD机)或从一自带调谐器接收到的第一视频节目。右侧屏面23包含一具有PIP的交互式EPG。用户通过EPG滚动屏幕，当选择了一个节目时，该节目被显示在PIP中，使用户可决定是否喜欢观看这个节目，用它来替换第一视频节目或添加到第一视频节目中。同时，由于该节目一直在屏幕的左侧部分播放，因此用户不会错过第一节目中的任何情节。另外，当从EPG中选择出一节目时，该节目的片断或介绍可显示在PIP中。在较高级的电视中有两个自带调谐器，一个用于PIP视频另一个用于主视频。在较便宜的电视中使用了VCR的调谐器或其它视频源。EPG通过很多公知方法，如视频流本身或通过电话线、TIVO等实现。
电视可具有一遥控单元，用于控制电视并通过EPG进行搜索。该电视包括一遥控信号接收器，用于接收遥控器发出的控制信号。然后这些信号被解码并输入到用于控制电视和EPG的控制器中。遥控器具有普通遥控器的所有特征，如频道的增/减、声音的大/小、电源开/关、数字键和菜单键。另外，还具有一EPG按钮和滚动上/下按钮，用于EPG导航。当按下EPG按钮时，电视屏幕将变为如图4所示的多窗口屏幕。用户操作滚动上/下按钮以实现对EPG的搜索选择。当EPG上的某一节目标题被高亮或选择时，对应该节目的视频节目将自动被显示在PIP中。另外，遥控器还具有一选择按钮，当在滚动时按下该按钮时，将使对应该节目标题的视频高亮，并显示在PIP中。
图5示出本发明电视机的最佳实施例的详细结构。它包括一数字模块50、一PIP模块60和一双窗口模块70。数字模块50可处理包含在通过数字调谐器51接收的ATSC陆地广播信号中的视频，并将其与其它视频或用于显示的图像源合成。该电视机支持存储在一大容量存储装置55(如磁盘、DVD、TIVO数据)中的视频。它还支持图像与存储在内存56(RAM)中的视频或从外部源，如VCR中得到的视频合成。图形，如由媒体处理器中的软件产生的EPG也可为显示信息“视频”源的一种。
数字调谐器51接收数字地面、有线或卫星广播，执行IF滤波以去除相邻信道干扰并向多标准解调器52输出一IF(1MHz到7MHz或41.25MHz到45.75MHz)信号。该多标准解调器52可解调ATSC、卫星、NTSC/PAL或有线广播的信号。当解调ATSC广播信号时，解调器52恢复载波和同步信息，从信号中解调出I信道，并对其解码。解调器52的输出为包含音频、视频和其它数据的ATSC传输流。媒体处理器53对传输流进行处理，从而实现对视频流的分离和解码。完全解压缩后图片以YUV的格式从媒体处理器53的DVI端通过数据选择器(YUV MUX)77，输出到双窗模块71的输入端。媒体处理器53的DVI、YUV输出通过DENC(数字编码器)被转换为CVBS，并被作为输入到PIP模块60中的数据源。
包含在数据流中接收的数据的图形数据同时处于媒体处理器53的DV2端口。DV2输出为载有节目导航的YUV视频信号。它被输入到PIP模块的MAIN输入端。Philips媒体处理器53也具有允许用户滚动DV2中显示的电子节目导航信息并选择DV1上显示的节目信息的功能。
PIP模块
PIP模块60接收四个视频输入源，一个从天线、两个CVBS信号还有一个MAIN输入端的YUV信号。
天线与调谐器61相连，处理UHF和VHF频带的地面广播信道。调谐器61由Philips媒体处理器53控制从RF频谱中选择任何频道。调谐器61的输出在IF滤波器模块62中被滤波，从而去除相邻频道中的图像和声音载波中的干扰。IF滤波模块62输出的RF信号然后由NTSC/PAL解调器63进行处理，从而从调谐频道的视频中分离出声音载波和同步信号。NTSC/PAL解调器63的输出为一包含所选频道中图片的色彩、亮度和同步信息的6MHz的基带视频信号(CVBS)。该视频源可通过选择器64被选择作为输入到PIP DSP处理器65的输入中的一个。
PIP DSP处理器65的SUB1和SUB2输入端接收从外部调谐器(VCR、DVD机等)或内部视频源输出的CVBS信号，并使它们作为可利用的PIP DSP处理器65的输入端的可选择输入。从解调器63输入PIP DSP65的输入端的视频被缩小为原始尺寸的1/16或1/9，并与Philips媒体处理器53输出的YUV信号复合。PIP处理器65的MAIN输入端与媒体处理器53的DV2输出相连，它可输出一包含有节目导航信息的图片。
PIP模块的输出包含一具有更小的四分之一大小(通常)下图的MAIN图片。该合成的输出通过数字编码器66被转换为CVBS，并被用作双窗口模块70的PANEL175的一个输入。PIP模块的YUV输出也可作为双窗口模块70的PANEL2 77的一个输入，以支持屏幕交换操作。
双窗口模块
双窗口模块接收两个主要输入组的输入。一组输入用于驱动双屏幕显示的屏面1。另一组输入用于驱动双屏幕显示的屏面2。屏面1选择器75组的输入为从PIP模块60和数字模块50中得到的CVBS信号。屏面1选择器75组中的第三输入从合成入双窗口模块70中的模拟调谐器中得到。
双窗口模块70的天线接收到的信号由调谐器72进行处理，以从RF频谱中选择任何频道。该调谐器72的输出被IF滤波器73滤波，以去除相邻NTSC/PAL频道(声音和视频载波)的干扰。IF滤波器73的输出由NTSC/PAL解调器74中的IF部分进行处理，以去除声音载波和同步信号。剩下的图像信息被解调并作为合成基带(0-4.2MHz)视频由解调器74输出。解调器74的输出被输入到屏面1视频选择器75。TV应用程序从屏面1选择器的输入端的三个CVBS视频信号中选择一个作为显示的屏面1的输出(此时，CVBS信号包含具有PIP视频的导航)。屏面1选择器75的输出由色彩解码器76处理从而分离亮度部分；去除垂直和水平同步信息；并将色彩信息解调为红色和蓝色色差信号。分离的亮度和色差信号被数字化并以YUV成分的格式输出。
屏面2选择器77由TV应用程序控制，输出YUV信号中的一个。屏面2选择器77的输出用于驱动双屏显示的屏面2。
屏面1和屏面2YUV信号在双窗口DSP71中被合成，它缩小并复用两个数字视频信号，从而用于显示屏的可显示区域。
可以看出，前面描述已经有效的实现了上述的目的，由于在不脱离本发明精神和范围的前提下，可以对上述方法和前述结构进行一定改变，因此，上述的说明和附图将只作为说明而不对本发明进行限制。

Claims (10)

1.一种视频***，包括：
一第一视频源接收器(50、51、52)，用于接收包括节目信息的第一视频源；
一第二视频源接收器(60)，用于接收包括节目信息的第二视频源；
一电子节目导航接收器(50)，用于接收电子节目导航信息；
一处理器(53、56、65、71)，用于向显示屏同时提供，(1)在显示屏的第一半部分，第一视频源的节目信息；(2)在显示屏的第二半部分，电子节目导航；(3)在显示屏的第二半部分的PIP部分中，第二视频源的节目信息；和
一显示屏选择器(53、23)，用于从电子节目导航中选择节目信息，从第二视频源中选择将要显示在PIP中的节目信息。
2.如权利要求1所述的视频***，其特征在于：所述第二视频源提供与通过选择器在电子节目导航中被浏览的节目相关的信息。
3.如权利要求1所述的视频***，其特征在于：第一和第二视频源为调谐器(51、61)。
4.如权利要求1或3所述的视频***，其特征在于：还包括一用于存储电子节目导航的存储器。
5.一视频***，包括：
一显示屏(21)；
一第一视频源接收器(50、51、52)，用于接收包括节目信息的第一视频源；
一第二视频源接收器(60)，用于接收包括节目信息的第二视频源；
