技术领域

背景技术
用于敏感物体(例如液体饮料)的包装需要具有足够的阻隔性质。通常,铝用于这些目的,并且通常提供在气体(例如氧气)的渗透方面的足够的性质。铝层也是香味屏障并且在热密封中起到重要作用。
热密封在包装中主要用于生产或封闭包裹物(wraps)、袋、小袋、纸盒、管、泡罩包装、薄壁容器、套件和各种组件。
有几种可用于热密封的方法,包括脉冲密封、介电热密封和热能(thermal)热密封。
感应通常用作热密封包装的手段。传统上,这是基于足够量的传导材料(conductive material,导电材料)的存在以产生热量并由此能够实现热密封。
使用铝的一个问题是它对环境构成挑战,其是再循环过程中的问题,并且不可堆肥。因此,期望用可再生材料代替铝。然而,至关重要的是将包装材料的阻隔性质保持在用于例如液体的包装的程度,并且还重要的是包装材料具有足够的抗裂性。
许多包装生产线和单元都配备有感应密封机。这也意味着包装材料必须含有铝层或箔(或类似材料),以便可感应密封。
铝层的使用提供了良好的阻隔性质,但是导致了在可持续性价值、再循环和成本方面的问题。
嵌入能够实现聚合物膜或涂层或生物膜的感应密封能力的物质是一种选择,但也可导致性能、可再循环性和成本方面的问题。将功能化学品或颗粒添加至例如湿部或涂覆过程可为一种选择,但这可增加负面地影响阻隔性质或层压材料或阻隔物制造工艺的风险。
因此,需要一种无嵌入感应物质的无铝涂层或膜,其仍可用于感应密封而不会因热密封工艺而损坏。
发明内容
已出人意料地发现,通过使用微原纤化纤维素(MFC)层,其中包含MFC的层已经在至少一侧上层压或涂覆有可热密封材料,可使用例如但不限于感应密封的方法来获得适合于热密封的包装材料,即使当包装材料不含呈连续箔或膜的形式的铝时也是如此。
本发明因此涉及一种不含呈连续箔或膜的形式的铝的包装材料,其包含MFC层,其中包含MFC的层已经在至少一侧上层压或涂覆有可热密封材料。可热密封材料可提供在MFC层的一侧或两侧上。
为了促进感应密封,包装材料的一侧可任选地提供有涂层,该涂层在加热时不附着或粘附至表面,特别是金属表面,例如铝表面。因此,该涂层防止了经涂覆的表面附着至加热的金属表面。这样的涂层的实例包括淀粉、蜡、矿物或颜料涂层或具有比可热密封材料更高的熔点的聚合物。如果防止经涂覆的表面附着至加热的金属表面的涂层是聚合物,则其还可含有一种或多种抗粘和/或防粘连剂,以进一步降低附着至金属表面的风险。优选以最高达20g/m2,例如0.1g/m2至20g/m2、优选0.5g/m2至15g/m2或0.5g/m2至5g/m2的量提供不附着或粘附至表面的涂层。替代地,包装材料不附着至加热的金属表面。
根据本发明的包装材料的厚度优选小于50μm,例如小于45μm,小于40μm或小于35μm。
MFC层优选在5至50gsm的范围内,例如5-30gsm或10-30gsm。MFC可为天然的或改性的,并且可为天然的和改性的MFC的混合物以及天然的MFC和不同类型的改性的MFC的混合物。如果MFC是改性的,则其可为磷酸化或PCC包覆的MFC。MFC可由纸浆生产,例如由溶解浆生产。
对于20-30gsm MFC层,MFC层的OTR(氧气透过率)值在23℃/50%RH下小于500cm3/m2*天。优选地,OTR值在23℃/50%RH下小于450cm3/m2*天。更优选地,OTR值在23℃/50%RH下小于400cm3/m2*天,在23℃/50%RH下小于200cm3/m2*天或在23℃/50%RH下小于100cm3/m2*天。可使用本领域已知的方法测定OTR。
与根据本发明的可热密封材料组合的MFC层的OTR(氧气透过率)值在23℃/50%RH下小于400cm3/m2*天。优选地,OTR值在23℃/50%RH下小于300cm3/m2*天。更优选地,OTR值在23℃/50%RH下小于100cm3/m2*天。可使用本领域已知的方法测定OTR。
根据本发明的包装材料可通过卷对卷(reel to reel)或卷对片(reel to sheet)或单张(sheet fed)印刷方法进行印刷,但也可用其他技术进行离线表面处理,例如柔性凹版印刷、轮转凹版印刷、反向轮转凹版印刷、丝网印刷、喷墨印刷、胶版印刷(平版印刷)、喷涂、幕涂、发泡(泡沫)或其他印刷或表面处理技术。
根据本发明的包装材料可为可生物降解的和/或可堆肥的。在这种情况下,可堆肥性根据ISO 18606定义,即整个材料中以小于1%的浓度存在的成分不需要证明生物降解性。然而,这些成分的总和不应超过5%。生物降解性定义如下:应对于整个材料或对于材料中以大于1%(以干质量计)的浓度存在的每种有机成分来确定最终的好氧生物降解性。以1%至10%的水平存在的成分应单独测试。
本发明的一个方面是一种感应密封的方法,其中可使根据本发明的包装材料经历感应密封,即使所述包装材料不含呈连续箔或膜的形式的铝。在这种用于感应密封的方法中,使根据本发明的包装材料紧密靠近或接触可通过感应进行加热的表面,例如金属表面,例如铝表面,根据本发明其被布置为使得其可通过感应进行加热,并且用于加热并由此在施加的压力下密封包装材料。因此,根据该方法,现有的用于感应热密封的设备可容易地适用于根据本发明方法的使用,所述方法为感应密封根据本发明的包装材料的方法。加热的表面可为铝基材或对接件(counterpiece)。
当进行感应密封时,包装材料被布置为使得为待密封在一起的两个表面中的至少一个提供有可热密封材料。来自加热的表面的热量通过包装材料传导,并且加热可热密封材料,使得其充分软化或熔化以获得期望的密封。如果包装材料的一侧涂覆有不粘附至表面的材料,则使包装材料的提供有不粘附至表面的材料的一侧紧密靠近或接触通过感应进行加热的表面。然而,根据本发明的包装材料也可被热密封至不是根据本发明的包装材料的表面。
根据本发明的包装材料可用于需要感应热密封能力(热密封性)的任何类型的最终包装产品。特别地,根据本发明的包装产品可用作封闭物、盖、液体包装产品或小袋。
具体实施方式
根据本发明使用的微原纤化纤维素可使用本领域已知的方法制备。
如本文在包装材料的情况中所使用地,术语“不含呈连续箔或膜的形式的铝”意指不包含呈连续箔或膜的形式的铝的包装材料。在本上下文中,箔或膜具有至少250nm的厚度并且是连续的,即基本上没有针孔(pin holes)。因此,包装材料典型地包含小于2重量%的铝,例如小于1重量%的铝或小于0.5重量%的铝。
在添加可热密封材料之前,可对MFC层进行等离子(体)处理或电晕处理。可热密封材料可直接提供在MFC层上。替代地,可在MFC层和可热密封材料之间提供一个或多个层。在MFC层和可热密封材料之间提供的这些层可例如提供额外的阻隔性质和/或改进MFC层和可热密封材料之间的附着性。
可热密封材料是可作为层提供的材料,并且其具有熔点和/或玻璃化转变温度,使得其适合用于热密封。这样的可热密封材料的实例包括热塑性聚合物,例如聚丙烯或聚乙烯。其他实例是蜡和热熔体(hot melts,热熔胶)。另外的实例包括:乙烯基类聚合物(基于PVC和PVDC的),基于丙烯酸酯和苯乙烯丙烯酸酯的聚合物,丙烯酸酯/聚烯烃共聚物,苯乙烯共聚物,聚酯,聚丙烯分散体,乙烯共聚物(EAA和EMAA),乙烯三元共聚物(EVA)或苯乙烯丙烯酸类胶乳或苯乙烯丁二烯胶乳。因此,可热密封材料可例如通过分散涂覆、挤出涂覆或乳液涂覆而作为涂层(涂料)施加。可热密封材料也可通过印刷施加。
包含可热密封材料的层还可含有添加剂,例如蜡/增滑剂:聚乙烯蜡,AKD,巴西棕榈蜡(Carnauba wax),PTFE,脂肪酸酯;无机颜料/填料:二氧化硅,滑石;抗氧化剂/UV稳定剂/光学增亮剂和消泡剂。
在本发明的一个实施方案中,MFC层在造纸机中或根据湿铺生产方法形成,通过将悬浮液提供到丝网上并且使幅材脱水形成中间薄基材或所述膜。提供包含微原纤化纤维素的悬浮液以形成所述膜。
在本发明的一个实施方案中,根据本发明使用的MFC层可根据本领域中描述的任何已知方法制备,例如湿铺法、涂覆、印刷、挤出、层压等。
在本专利申请的上下文中,微原纤化纤维素(MFC)应意指至少一个维度小于100nm的纳米尺度的纤维素颗粒纤维或原纤维。MFC包括部分或完全原纤化的纤维素或木质纤维素纤维。释放的原纤维的直径小于100nm,而实际的原纤维直径或粒度分布和/或纵横比(长度/宽度)取决于来源和制造方法。
最小的原纤维被称为基础原纤维(初级原纤维)并且直径约为2-4nm(参见例如Chinga-Carrasco,G.,Cellulose fibres,nanofibrils and microfibrils,:Themorphological sequence of MFC components from a plant physiology and fibretechnology point of view,Nanoscale research letters 2011,6:417),而常见的是聚集形式的基础原纤维(其也被定义为微原纤维)(Fengel,D.,Ultrastructural behaviorof cell wall polysaccharides,Tappi J.,March 1970,Vol 53,No.3.)是在制造MFC时获得的主要产品,例如通过使用延长的精磨过程或压降分解过程制造。取决于来源和制造方法,原纤维的长度可在约1至大于10微米变化。粗MFC级可含有相当大部分的原纤化纤维,即来自管胞(纤维素纤维)的突出原纤维,以及一定量的从管胞(纤维素纤维)释放的原纤维。
MFC有不同的首字母缩略词,例如纤维素微原纤维、原纤化纤维素、纳米原纤化纤维素、原纤维聚集体、纳米级纤维素原纤维、纤维素纳米纤维、纤维素纳米原纤维、纤维素微纤维、纤维素原纤维、微原纤状纤维素、微原纤维聚集体和纤维素微原纤维聚集体。MFC的特征还可在于各种物理或物理化学性质,例如大的表面积或其在分散在水中时在低固体(1-5重量%)下形成凝胶状材料的能力。纤维素纤维优选原纤化至这样的程度,即,使得所形成的MFC的最终比表面积为约1至约300m2/g,例如1至200m2/g或更优选50-200m2/g,用BET方法对冷冻干燥的材料进行测定。
存在制造MFC的各种方法,例如单次或多次精磨,预水解然后是精磨或高剪切分解或原纤维的释放。通常需要一个或若干个预处理步骤,以使MFC制造既节能又可持续。因此,待供应的纸浆的纤维素纤维可进行酶法或化学预处理,例如以降低半纤维素或木质素的量。纤维素纤维可在原纤化之前进行化学改性,其中纤维素分子含有除了在原始纤维素中所发现的之外(或更多)的官能团。这些基团尤其包括羧甲基(CM)、醛和/或羧基(通过N-氧基介导的氧化获得的纤维素,例如“TEMPO”)或季铵(阳离子纤维素)。在以上述方法之一中进行改性或氧化后,更容易将纤维分解成MFC或纳米原纤状尺寸原纤维。
纳米原纤状纤维素可含有一些半纤维素;量取决于植物来源。经预处理的纤维(例如水解的、预溶胀的或氧化的纤维素原料)的机械分解用合适的设备进行,例如精磨机,研磨机,均化器,胶体排出装置(colloider),摩擦研磨机,超声波超声仪,流化器如微流化器、宏观流化器或流化器型均化器。取决于MFC制造方法,产品还可含有细粒或纳米结晶纤维素或例如在木质纤维或造纸过程中存在的其他化学品。该产品还可含有各种量的未被有效地原纤化的微米尺寸的纤维颗粒。
MFC由木质纤维素纤维制备,包括硬木或软木纤维两者。其还可由微生物来源、农业纤维如麦草浆、竹子、甘蔗渣或其他非木质纤维来源制成。其优选由纸浆制成,包括来自原始纤维的纸浆,例如,机械、化学和/或热机械纸浆。其还可由损纸或再生纸制成。
上述MFC的定义包括但不限于对纤维素纳米原纤维(CMF)新提出的TAPPI标准W13021,其定义了含有多个(种)基础原纤维的纤维素纳米纤维材料,其具有结晶和无定形区域两者。
根据另一个实施方案,悬浮液可包含不同类型纤维的混合物,例如微原纤化纤维素和一定量的其他类型的纤维,例如硫酸盐浆纤维、细粒、增强纤维、合成纤维、溶解浆、TMP或CTMP、PGW等。
悬浮液还可包含其他工艺或功能添加剂,例如填料,颜料,湿强化学品,干强化学品,助留化学品,交联剂,软化剂或增塑剂,粘合底漆,润湿剂,杀生物剂,光学染料,荧光增白剂,消泡化学品,疏水化学品例如AKD,ASA,蜡,树脂等。添加剂也可使用施胶压榨机添加。
存在着几种制备MFC的膜的方法,包括丝网成形和流延成形。在丝网成形中,使包含微原纤化纤维素的悬浮液在多孔表面上脱水以形成纤维幅材。合适的多孔表面是例如造纸机中的丝网。然后将纤维幅材在造纸机的干燥段中干燥以形成MFC膜,其中膜具有第一侧和第二侧。可在根据本发明的方法中使用的造纸机可为本领域技术人员已知的用于生产纸、纸板、薄纸或类似产品的任何类型的机器,或者例如改造的或非常规的造纸机。
将配料放置到丝网上,然后形成幅材,其可脱水形成中间薄基材或膜。在流延成形中,将包含MFC的悬浮液例如施加在具有无孔表面的支撑介质上。无孔表面为例如塑料或金属带,悬浮液在其上均匀铺展,在干燥期间形成MFC膜。然后将MFC膜从支撑介质上剥离,以形成独立的膜,其中膜具有第一侧和第二侧。
优选地,MFC层被层压或挤出涂覆或分散涂覆有热塑性聚合物,该热塑性聚合物可为基于生物的和/或可生物降解的热塑性聚合物。热塑性膜的熔点典型地为60℃至220℃。在本发明的一个实施方案中,热塑性聚合物选自热塑性纤维素、热塑性淀粉(改性淀粉)、聚乙烯(PE)、聚丙烯(PP)、高密度聚乙烯(HDPE)、低密度聚乙烯(LDPE)、线性低密度聚乙烯(LLDPE)、聚乳酸(PLA)、聚己内酯、聚乙交酯(PGA)、乙烯乙酸乙烯酯(EVA)、乙烯乙烯醇(EVOH)、聚酰胺(PA)、离聚物(例如Surlyn)或其组合。热塑性膜通常以至少5g/m2、例如至少15g/m2、例如至少20g/m2或至少30g/m2存在。
在本发明的一个实施方案中,MFC层用热塑性聚合物层压。层压可使用本领域已知的方法进行。
最终包装产品,例如包括根据本发明的包装材料的最终液体包装板可包括若干层,即为多层结构。根据本发明的可热密封包装材料例如可用于包裹物体的包装、袋、小袋、纸盒、管、泡罩包装、薄壁容器等。根据本发明的包装材料还可用作容器的密封件或盖,即包装材料可用于将包装密封,其中包装可由任何这样的材料制造,在该材料上可提供有作为密封件的根据本发明的包装材料。在一个实施方案中,待用根据本发明的包装材料密封的容器在其待提供密封件的区域中可含有足够的铝,以允许通过感应进行热密封。
鉴于以上对本发明的详细描述,对于本领域技术人员而言,其他修改和变化将变得显而易见。然而,应该显而易见的是,在不脱离本发明的精神和范围的情况下,可实现这样的其他修改和变化。

Claims (12)

1.不含呈连续箔或膜的形式的铝的可热密封包装材料,其包括包含至少60重量%的微原纤化纤维素的层,其中包含微原纤化纤维素的层被层压或涂覆有可热密封材料。
2.根据权利要求1所述的可热密封包装材料,其中可热密封材料选自聚乙烯、聚丙烯、聚乳酸、苯乙烯丙烯酸类乳胶、苯乙烯丁二烯乳胶或其混合物。
3.根据权利要求1所述的可热密封包装材料,其中包装材料的厚度小于70μm。
4.根据权利要求1-3中任一项所述的可热密封包装材料,其中包装材料的至少一侧提供有防止经涂覆的表面附着至加热的金属表面的涂层。
5.根据权利要求4所述的可热密封包装材料,其中防止经涂覆的表面附着至加热的金属表面的涂层选自淀粉、蜡、矿物或颜料涂层或具有比可热密封材料更高的熔点的聚合物。
6.根据权利要求1-5中任一项所述的可热密封包装材料,其中所述包含微原纤化纤维素的层已经被挤出涂覆或分散涂覆有热塑性聚合物。
7.根据权利要求6所述的可热密封包装材料,其中所述热塑性聚合物是聚乙烯。
8.根据权利要求1-7中任一项所述的可热密封包装材料,其中微原纤化纤维素是天然的或改性的或其混合物,并且其中改性微原纤化纤维素是磷酸化的微原纤化纤维素或PCC包覆的微原纤化纤维素。
9.制造根据权利要求1-8中任一项所述的可热密封包装材料的方法,其包括以下步骤:
a)制备微原纤化纤维素层;
b)在微原纤化纤维素层的至少一侧上用可热密封材料层压或涂覆步骤a)的层。
10.根据权利要求1-8中任一项所述的可热密封包装材料在感应密封中的用途。
11.用于感应密封的方法,其中待通过感应进行密封的材料不含呈连续箔或膜的形式的铝,其中使根据权利要求1至8中任一项所述的包装材料紧密靠近或接触可通过感应进行加热的表面,从而在施加的压力下加热和密封包含根据本发明的可热密封包装材料的包装产品。
12.根据权利要求11所述的方法,其中密封通过可热密封材料的软化或熔化以及通过施加至软化或熔化的材料的压力来实现。
