Abstract

本发明提供一种液晶显示装置的源极驱动电路,尤其关于一种电路的设计面积小,并且耗电量低的源极驱动电路,其包括基准电压电路、负电压驱动用数模转换器、电压驱动用数模转换器、反相放大器、非反相放大器以及电压选择器。其中基准电压电路用以形成基准电压。负电压驱动用数模转换器细分显示信号成为负灰度电压。正电压驱动用数模转换器细分显示信号成为正灰度电压。反相放大器提供驱动液晶显示装置的负灰度电压。非反相放大器提供驱动液晶显示装置的正灰度电压。电压选择器则提供来自所述基准电压电路的基准电压给所述负电压驱动用数模转换器以及所述正电压驱动用数模转换器。

Description

液晶显示装置用源极驱动电路及具备它的液晶显示装置
技术领域
本发明涉及一种液晶显示装置,特别是涉及一种液晶显示装置用源极驱动电路。
背景技术
如图6所示,传统液晶显示装置包括TFT液晶面板1、显示控制器2、以及控制TFT液晶面板1的栅电极的栅极驱动器3。显示控制器2为了控制栅极驱动装置3而生成栅极驱动器控制信号4,传送至栅极驱动器3。另外,传统液晶显示装置还包括源极驱动电路。该源极驱动电路包括:基准电压电路5和6,根据基准电压将数字显示数据转换成灰度电压信号;电压选择器7和8;数模转换器9和10,将来自电压选择器7和8的电压数据分别转换成模拟信号;非反相放大电路11,直接将来自数模转换器9的模拟信号升压成为施加于液晶面板1的电压;非反相放大电路12,直接将来自数模转换器10的模拟信号升压成为施加于液晶面板1的电压;移位寄存器14;电平移位器15,提高移位寄存器14的输出电压电平;以及解复用器电路16。
非反相放大电路11以及12向解复用器电路16输出驱动TFT液晶面板1的液晶显示信号13。并且,显示控制器2为使来自解复用器电路16的液晶显示信号13输出至TFT液晶面板1,向移位寄存器14发送输出定时信号17,同时亦发送使移位寄存器14运转的传送时钟信号18。另外,显示控制器2根据传送时钟信号18对电平移位器15发送脉冲19。
前述的显示控制器2对栅极驱动器3输出栅极驱动器控制信号4,为显示控制器2所控制的栅极驱动器3即会使TFT液晶面板1的任一行控制线有效。
显示数据由基准电压电路5、6生成,作为施加于TFT液晶面板1的灰度电压信号。所生成的灰度电压由数模转换器9、10来进行转换。转换后的电压信号则输入至非反相放大电路11、12。在驱动液晶时,为使施加于TFT液晶面板1的电压极性周期性地反相,基准电压电路5、6,数模转换器9、10,以及非反相放大电路11、12均为必须的。
如前所述,在传统液晶显示驱动装置中,为使施加于液晶上的电压极性周期性地反相,则其具有正电压基准电压电路5和负电压基准电压电路6。对应地,则分别具有两个电压选择器7和8、数模转换器9和10以及两个非反相放大电路11和12,因此,存在电路的设计面积大且耗电也大的问题。现在,液晶显示驱动装置有朝小巧轻便及低耗电化发展的倾向。为满足产品规格缩小或低耗电的要求,有必要改善前述传统的问题。

发明内容
为解决前述问题,本发明的课题在于提供一种电路设计面积小,并且耗电小的液晶显示装置用源极驱动电路。
本发明为解决前述问题,提供一种电路结构,其中,基准电压电路和电压选择器分别为正电压信号体系和负电压信号体系所共有,利用反相/非反相放大器,分别输出极性不同的液晶显示信号。
以下,对本发明进行具体说明。
本发明的液晶显示装置用源极驱动电路,包括:基准电压(Gamma)电路,用以形成基准电压;正电压驱动用数模转换器,细分显示信号成为正灰度电压;负电压驱动用数模转换器,细分显示信号成为负灰度电压;非反相放大器,向所述液晶显示装置提供驱动的正灰度电压;反相放大器,向所述液晶显示装置提供驱动的负灰度电压;以及电压选择器,将来自所述基准电压电路的基准电压供给于所述正电压驱动用数模转换器以及所述负电压驱动用数模转换器。是以,本发明的液晶显示装置用源极驱动电路,系使基准电压电路和电压选择器分别为正电压体系和负电压体系所共有,从而能够使电路设计面积小,并且耗电小。
本发明的液晶显示装置用源极驱动电路,进一步包括一个选择开关,该选择开关与正电压驱动用数模转换器、负电压驱动用数模转换器以及电压选择器连接。
在本发明的液晶显示装置用源极驱动电路中,源极驱动电路中的选择开关能够对来自电压选择器的基准电压进行切换,输出至正电压驱动用数模转换器或负电压驱动用数模转换器。
并且,液晶显示装置具备本发明的液晶显示装置用源极驱动电路,能够驱动液晶面板。
具有上述液晶显示装置的电子装置,是手提电话、数码相机、PDA(个人数字助理:Personal Digital Assistant)、汽车用显示器、航空用显示器、数字相框或便携式DVD播放器。
即如前述,根据本发明,可以提供电路设计面积小,并且耗电小的液晶显示装置用源极驱动电路。

具体实施方式
图1是本发明的液晶显示装置用源极驱动电路的方块图。在图1中,液晶显示装置用源极驱动电路是由基准电压电路(伽马(gamma)电路)5、电压选择器7、负电压驱动用数模转换器21、正电压驱动用数模转换器41、反相放大器20以及非反相放大器40构成。基准电压电路5根据基准电压将显示数据转换成灰度电压信号。电压选择器7用以在多个基准电压中作选择。正电压驱动***和负电压驱动***系同时共有基准电压电路5和电压选择器7,利用选择开关61,可切换对负电压驱动用数模转换器21和正电压驱动用数模转换器41的输出。负电压驱动用数模转换器21将从电压选择器7输出的电压数据转换成模拟信号。反相放大器20将从负电压驱动用数模转换器21输出的模拟信号反相,并升压至施加于TFT液晶面板的电压。正电压驱动用数模转换器41将从电压转换器7输出的电压数据转换成模拟信号。非反相放大器40则不会使正电压驱动用数模转换器41输出的模拟信号反相,而升压至施加于液晶面板的电压。从而,可分别节省一个基准电压电路5和一个电压选择器7,因此可大幅减少电路所占有的面积。
图2是连接图1中所示负电压驱动***的负电压驱动用数模转换器21和反相放大器20的实施例的说明图。在图2中,负电压驱动***电路基本上由负电压驱动用数模转换器21和放大器22所构成。另外,分两阶段来进行驱动。在最初的配置(setup)阶段,首先使存储电容C1的电压复位为基准电压0,对放大器22进行初始化。其次在启动阶段,将从电压选择器输出的基准电压输入存储电容C1、负反馈存储电容C2,进行数模变换,然后再通过放大器22对TFT液晶面板的像素输出适当的负电压。
图3是在图2中显示的负电压驱动用数模转换器21和图1中反相放大器20的实施例的详细说明图。该电路由以下部分构成。即,放大器32;负反馈存储电容(16C)305;负电压驱动用数模转换器31和放大器32输入用存储电容(8C、4C、2C、1C、1C)304;所述存储电容304的输入电压(VH、VL)切换用开关301;所述负反馈存储电容305;负电压驱动用数模转换器31以及反相放大器32输入用存储电容304的基准电压(Vref)输入用配置开关302;以及在放大器32和输出端之间的启动开关303。于此,电压选择器的输出端子(VH、VL)经由启动开关301连接到存储电容304,以使基准电压(Vref)经由配置开关302输入到存储电容304的输入端以及负反馈存储电容305的输入端。并且,负反馈存储电容305和存储电容304的接地端连接至放大器32的输入端,负反馈存储电容305的输入端经由启动开关303连接至放大器32的输出端。负电压驱动用数模转换器31通过配置开关302提供基准电压(Vref:0V),再通过启动开关301从电压选择器的输出端子(VH、VL)中选择基准电压,基准电压输出至对应的存储电容304(8C、4C、2C、1C、1C中的一个),进行数模转换,细分显示信号成为灰度电压。然后,利用放大器22使灰度电压反相并升压后,对TFT液晶面板的像素输出负灰度电压。
图4是连接图1中所示正电压驱动***的正电压驱动用数模转换器41和非反相放大器40的实施例的说明图。在图4中,正电压驱动***电路基本上由正电压驱动用数模转换器41和放大器42所构成。另外,分两阶段来进行驱动。在最初的配置阶段,首先将从电压选择器输出的基准电压输入存储电容C,进行数模变换,对放大器42进行初始化。其次在启动阶段,通过放大器42对TFT液晶面板的像素输出适合的正电压。
图5是图4所示正电压驱动用数模转换器51以及图1中非反相放大器40的实施例的详细说明图。该电路由以下部分构成。即,放大器52;正电压驱动用数模转换器51以及放大器52输入用存储电容(8C、4C、2C、1C、1C)504;用来切换输入至所述存储电容504的输入电压(VH、VL)的配置开关501;以及在所述存储电容504的输入端和输出端之间的启动开关502。于此,电压选择器的输出端子(VH、VL)经由配置开关501连接至存储电容504,以使基准电压经由配置开关501输入至存储电容504的输入端。另外,使存储电容504的接地端和放大器52的输入端相连接,存储电容504的输入端经由启动开关502连接至放大器52的输出端。正电压驱动用数模转换器51通过配置开关501从电压选择器的输出端子(VH、VL)中选择基准电压,并通过启动开关502输出至对应的存储电容504(8C、4C、2C、1C、1C中的一个),进行数模变换,细分显示信号成为正灰度电压。然后,利用放大器52使正灰度电压升压后,对TFT液晶面板的像素输出正灰度电压。
此外,利用本发明源极驱动电路的液晶显示装置亦可应用在手提电话、数码相机、PDA(个人数字助理)、汽车用显示器、航空用显示器、数字相框或便携式DVD播放器等电子装置中。

Claims (5)

1.一种液晶显示装置用源极驱动电路,其特征在于包括:
基准电压电路,用以形成基准电压;
正电压驱动用数模转换器,细分显示信号成为正灰度电压;
负电压驱动用数模转换器,细分显示信号成为负灰度电压;
非反相放大器,向所述液晶表示装置提供驱动的正灰度电压;
反相放大器,向所述液晶表示装置提供驱动的负灰度电压;以及
电压选择器,将来自所述基准电压电路的基准电压供给所述正电压驱动用数模转换器以及所述负电压驱动用数模转换器。
2.根据权利要求1所述的液晶显示装置用源极驱动电路,其特征在于:所述液晶显示装置用源极驱动电路进一步包括一个选择开关,该选择开关与所述正电压驱动用数模转换器、所述负电压驱动用数模转换器以及所述电压选择器连接。
3.根据权利要求2所述的液晶显示装置用源极驱动电路,其特征在于:所述选择开关能够对来自电压选择器的基准电压输出至所述正电压驱动用数模转换器或所述负电压驱动用数模转换器进行切换。
4.一种液晶显示装置,其特征在于:具备权利要求1至3中任一项所述的液晶显示装置用源极驱动电路。
5.一种具备权利要求4所述液晶显示装置的电子装置,其特征在于:所述电子装置为手提电话、数码相机、PDA(个人数字助理)、汽车用显示器、航空用显示器、数字相框或便携式DVD播放器。
