Fig. 2 zeigt den Stöpsel nach oben verschoben.
Vessel for holding food. Various devices are known which are used to remove the air from sterilization vessels and thereby to keep the contents fresh.
A known means of this kind consists in placing the sterilization vessel with the closed lid under slight spring pressure in a recipient from which the air is extracted by means of a pump. When the air is subsequently allowed to flow into the recipient, the lid and spring act as a valve.
The present invention has the advantage of the greatest simplicity and is characterized essentially by the way in which the connection is made and interrupted between the interior of the sterilization vessel on the one hand and the air pump, respectively. Outside space on the other hand.
The subject matter of the invention is illustrated by FIGS. 1 and 2 in an exemplary embodiment. Fig. 1 is a section from which the essence of the invention is clear from the following description. In Fig. 2 only another important position of the plug is shown, also in section. In Fig. 1, 2 is the sterilization vessel, which is only partially drawn. Furthermore, 8 represents its lid, 4 an opening that leads from the outside into the inside of the vessel.
This opening could also be made on the wall of the vessel instead of in the lid of the same and it is not essential that they are in the lid. In this opening is a sealing compound 5, for example in the form of a hose. This sealing compound leaves an opening free through which the inside of the vessel can communicate with the outside space. A plug 6 is inserted in this opening.
It fills the opening completely and is so thick that it presses the sealing compound against the walls of the hole while sitting in the opening, so that air can neither pass through the hole walls nor along the surface of the plug. The plug 6 has two bores: one axial, which extends from a to, for example, b, whereby it is important that this does not extend to the end of the plug, i.e. not through, and a radial 8, which extends from the surface of the plug leads to the ax.
These two bores thus form a channel through the plug which has an axial and a radial outlet. Furthermore, the plug has a handle 9, e.g. B. in the form of a fixed ring, which is not conveniently seated at the upper end. This ring is used to ensure that the plug can be easily moved in its longitudinal direction. Fig. 2 shows the plug displaced upwards.
It is essential that, in the plug position according to FIG. 1, the radial bore 8 opens into the interior of the vessel and that in the plug position of FIG. 2 this bore opens into the exterior. At 10, Fig. 1, the plug is connected to the air pump, e.g.
B. with a hose, the following mode of operation results: The action of the pump causes the sterilization vessel to be evacuated in the stopper position Fig. 1. A spring pressure on the lid is not necessary, a slight pressure by hand is completely sufficient as the air pressure starts immediately. When the pump has done its work, the stopper is pulled out from position FIG. 1 to the position shown in FIG.
As a result, the inside of the vessel is sealed off from the pump and the outside space. The hose 10 can be removed.
Another advantage of this device is that you can easily open the vessel when using the goods. For this purpose, the stopper is either pulled out completely or pushed in in the position shown in FIG. 1, whereby the air is given access to the inside of the vessel so that the lid can be easily lifted off.
