Description
The invention relates to a method for the mechanical knitting of a one-piece, blank garment having the desired final shape of the individual sections of the garment, with at least one bulge in the shoulder area by increasing the number of stitches of the wales in one or more parts of the area compared to adjacent areas.
Methods for form-fitting machine knitting of garment blanks have already been known or proposed. It is also known to incorporate pockets or bulges in the garment blanks (DT-OS 27 15 439.27 16150). However, the previously known methods have the disadvantage that they require knitting machines with special equipment, namely for adjusting the shoe cover, for transferring stitches or for reducing them. In addition, the garment blanks formed have unfavorable cuts that lead to seams that run either across the front or the back of the finished garment or in the middle of the back or front in the longitudinal direction of the finished garment.
The invention is based on the object of designing a method of the type mentioned at the outset in such a way that it can also be carried out on knitting machines without special additional devices and with a more favorable cut than previously.
The object is achieved with the method of the type mentioned in the invention in that the knitting process is used with a fixed start on one of the outer sections, namely the front part, the back part or a sleeve, of the blank of the garment and forms all of the desired Width of this outer section of rows of stitches

ausgeführt wird, dass nach Erreichen des Schulterbereichs des Bekleidungsstückrohlings die Maschenreihen vom einen Rand des Bekleidungsstückrohlings über einen äusseren Abschnitt und den Schulterbereich hinweg bis zur Übergangsstelle zu einem gegenüberliegenden äusseren Abschnitt und vom entgegengesetzten Rand über den dortigen zweitgenannten äusseren Abschnitt und den Schulterbereich hinweg bis zur Übergangsstelle in den erstgenannten äusseren Abschnitt gestrickt werden, wobei der Verlauf der Übergänge vom Schulterbereich zu den äusseren Abschnitten durch die Maschenreihenenden bestimmt ist und im genannten Schulterbereich gleichzeitig mehr Maschenreihen entstehen als in den in Maschenreihenrichtung angrenzenden äusseren Abschnitten, und dass nach Beendigung des mindestens einen ausbuchtenden Schulterbereichs der Strickvorgang unter Bildung von über die ganze gewünschte Breite des Bekleidungsstückrohlings verlaufenden Maschenreihen eines äusseren Abschnittes bis zu dessen Ende fortgesetzt wird. it is carried out that after reaching the shoulder area of the garment blank, the rows of stitches from one edge of the garment blank over an outer section and the shoulder area to the transition point to an opposite outer section and from the opposite edge over the second-mentioned outer section and the shoulder area to the transition point are knitted in the first-mentioned outer section, the course of the transitions from the shoulder area to the outer sections being determined by the ends of the course and in the said shoulder area more rows of stitches being created at the same time than in the outer sections adjacent in the direction of the row of stitches, and that after the at least one bulging shoulder area has ended the knitting process continues, forming rows of stitches of an outer section that run over the entire desired width of the garment blank until the end thereof is now.
The method according to the invention can be carried out on any conventional double-bed knitting machine which is provided with a needle selection system. As a special version, only an adapted pulling device is expedient, with which the garment blank with its gradually changing width "and with its bulges can be pulled off evenly. The method can therefore also be produced on high-speed machines, since there are no deck shoe adjustment devices, reduced facilities, Transfer devices or other additional devices that can reduce the working speed of a machine are required, in particular, double-bed flat knitting machines, including left / left machines, with an electronically controlled needle selection device are suitable for carrying out the method.
' Das Verfahren gemäss der Erfindung hat den weiteren The method according to the invention has the further
J Advantage that it does not impair the patterning possibilities of the knitted blank, but rather gives greater variation possibilities with regard to the appearance of the knitted fabric, because the garment blank can be knitted starting both on a broad side and beginning at the end of a sleeve section. The garment blank can therefore be produced with wales which are parallel or transverse to the longitudinal axis of the finished garment. Any desired partial widening of the areas of the sleeve sections adjoining the shoulder area can easily be achieved by means of the needle selection device in that individual rows of stitches are led from the bulging shoulder area beyond the transition point to the adjacent sleeve section to a desired length, also in this part a certain bulge occurs in the sleeve section.
When the garment is finished from the knitted blank, there are only two side seams, namely a left and a right side seam, each of which extends on the inside of the sleeve from the sleeve waistband to the armpit to the body waistband of the preferably sweater-like or cowl-like item of clothing. There are no seam lines dividing and crossing the front section or the back section.
The method according to the invention is explained in more detail below with the aid of a blank of clothing shown schematically in the accompanying drawing.

The garment blank 10 shown in highly schematic form in FIGS. 1, 1 a and 1 b is produced on a conventional double bed * flat knitting machine with a jacquard pattern device. It has a front section 11, a back section 13 separated from the front section 11 by a shoulder area 12 and two sleeve sections 14 and 15 projecting laterally from the central shoulder area 12. The front section 11 and the back section 13 each end on the outside with a so-called patent edge 16 or 17. A collar opening 36, initially closed by a separating thread, is provided in the middle of the shoulder region 12.
As the two profile pictures of FIGS. 1 a and 1 b show, a pyramid-like bulge 18 is present in the shoulder region 12 of the garment blank 10, the pyramid-side edges of which are shown by the roof-shaped transition lines 19, 19 a and 20, 20 a between the lines shown in FIG. 1 Sleeve sections 14 and 15 and the shoulder region 12 are formed.
The knitting of the garment blank can be started according to the new method either on one of the four outer sections 11, 13, 14 or 15, for example with the patent edge 16 of the front section 11 or with the end of the sleeve section 14. The manufacture of the garment blank is described below described starting at the front section 11, which leads to the usual course of stitch rows across the front section 11 and the back section 13. The knitting process begins with a fixed starting row 21 and the adjoining patent edge 16 of the front section 11. The rows of stitches are produced over the entire desired width of the front section 11, the front section 11 being able to obtain any pattern caused by a needle control device. The desired width of the front section of the blank of clothing, the outer edges of which do not have to run parallel to one another as in FIG. 1, is also determined by means of the needle control device.
As soon as the line 22/23 is reached, at which the shoulder area 12 of the garment blank begins, the two outer sleeve sections 14 and 15 are also formed. The routing of the individual rows of stitches explained below with reference to FIGS. 2-4 is carried out. This formation of stitches can be carried out both with a machine with one and with a machine with several thread guides and a corresponding number of locks. The formation of stitches can be carried out particularly advantageously with a double-lock machine, with which the number of stitches in the shoulder region 12 which is thereby bulged out can be doubled compared to the adjacent sleeve sections 14 and 15, but other numerical ratios can also be achieved here, such as the exemplary embodiment see

2-4 show only a schematic representation of the bulged shoulder area 12 and the two laterally adjoining outer sleeve sections 14 and 15, the sleeve sections 14 and 15 being depicted much shorter than normal.
Fig. 2 shows an embodiment of the stitch row guide in the bulged shoulder area 12 and the two laterally adjoining outer sleeve sections 14 and 15 of a knitted blank, which is used with a double-lock machine with two threads 24 and 25 and accordingly using two in Figure 2 at the lower right corner thread guides 30 and 31 are shown schematically in their starting position. The thread 24 is shown with a solid line and the thread 25 with a dashed line. The thread 24 is threaded from the right side of the machine. The movement of the carriage with the double lock takes place over the full width of the garment blank 10, which is determined in the present area by the total length of the two sleeve sections 14 and 15 and the width of the shoulder area 12 lying between them.
Wie aus Fig. 5 ersichtlich ist, Fig. 2 shows the two thread guides 30 and 31 in their starting position. At the beginning of the knitting of the mentioned sections of the garment blank, a full course of stitches is formed from the thread 24 to the other edge, while the second thread 25 fed with the thread guide 31 forms a course of stitches which extends over the entire length of the sleeve section 15 and the shoulder region 12 extends to the transition line 20 between the shoulder region 12 and the other sleeve section 14. 5 as can be seen from Fig.
wird der Fadenführer 31 aber bis zu einem am linken Rand der Gestrickbreite angeordneten Deckschuh 40 weiterbewegt. however, the thread guide 31 is moved up to a cover shoe 40 arranged on the left edge of the knitted fabric width.
On the return stroke of the carriage, the now leading thread guide 21 is moved back out of the thread 25 to the transition line 20 without stitch formation, the tensioned thread 25 passing through the opening of the nut of the thread guide 31. At the transition line 20, a row of stitches is then knitted from the thread 25, which extends over the entire length of the shoulder region 12 and the adjoining sleeve section 15 to the right knitted edge. At the same time, a row of stitches is knitted with the thread 24 fed through the now following thread guide 30, which extends from the left knitted edge over the entire length of the sleeve section 14 and the entire length of the shoulder area 12 to the transition line 20a between the shoulder area 12 and the sleeve section 15. Here too, the thread guide 30 is guided up to a cover shoe (e.g. 40a) at the right end of the total knitted width. Equipment for yarn recovery or for a deck shoe adjustment is not required. All deck shoes 40 and 40a are outside the width of the knitted piece.
Fig. 2 shows the further formation of stitches until the end of the knitting of the three sections 12, 14 and 15. In this case, double the number of stitch rows is formed in the shoulder area 12 as in the two adjacent sleeve sections 14 and 15, which leads to the pyramid-like bulge of the shoulder area 12 with the edges formed by the transition lines 19, 19a, 20, 20a.
Die von den Fäden 24 und 25 gebildeten Fig. 3 shows an embodiment in which the width of the sleeve sections 14 and 15 is influenced by a different dimensioning of the length of individual rows of stitches without the use of a special reduction device. As in the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 2, a double lock and two thread guides 30, 31 are used. The threads formed by threads 24 and 25
Rows of stitches are partly led over the transition lines 19, 20, 19a, 20a between the shoulder area 12 and the adjacent sleeve sections 14 and 15, so that a bulge also arises in the area of the sleeve sections 14s and 15 near the shoulder, which narrows the sleeve sections can be achieved towards its outer edge 27.
The method does not, however, prohibit the formation of stepped side edges 26 (FIG. 1), as is already known for the width edge length of sleeve sections. In any case, in the method according to the invention, once the sleeve sections 14 and 15 have been completed, the edge stitches forming the side sleeve edge 26 (FIG. 1) are thrown off as soon as the adjacent back section 13 15 is knitted.
With the principle of the method described with reference to the exemplary embodiments according to FIGS. 2 and 3, the sleeve section 14 is formed solely by stitch rows of the thread 24 and the sleeve section 15 practically solely by stitch rows of the 20 thread 25. However, this principle is not mandatory and can be broken through the use of further thread guides, as the embodiment according to FIG. 4 shows. In this exemplary embodiment, the two sleeve sections 14 and 15 and the bulged shoulder region 12 are knitted with six thread guides 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35. The knitting is done in Fig. 4 again from bottom to top. The pairs of thread guides 30 / 31.32 / 33.34 / 35 are drawn on the edge of the knitted width in their starting position and in their end position. The threads fed by the 30 individual thread guides are designated with the reference number of the thread guide, supplemented by the letter a, to facilitate orientation. The threads 30a and 31a are threaded into their thread guides 30 and 31 from the left machine side. The threads 32a and 33a 35 can be threaded into their thread guides 32 and 33 from the left or from the right machine side, while the threads 34a and 35a are threaded into their thread guides 34 and 35 from the right machine side. The threads can all have different colors. Appropriately 40 is used, for example, with a basic color and an additional color, wherein the threads 30a, 32a and 34a can have the basic color and the other threads can have the additional color.
The knitting process is started with the two thread guides 30 and 31 from their right starting position. During the first 45 strokes of the double lock slide from right to left, the needles selected according to the pattern knit in the sleeve section 15 and in the shoulder area 12 first with the thread 30a and later with the thread 31a. In the following carriage stroke from left to right, the needles selected in this way in the shoulder area 12 and in the sleeve area 15 knit with the thread 30a and with the thread 31a. During the next carriage stroke from right to left, the thread guides 32 and 33 are inserted and with their threads 32a and 33a rows of stitches over 55 the entire length of both sleeve sections 14 and 15 and the shoulder area 12 lying between them are knitted. Then the thread guides are again changed on the left edge of the knitted fabric and, with the thread guides 34 and 35 in the starting position there, with the threads 34a 60 and 35a, pattern rows are knitted, which extend over the sleeve section 14 and the shoulder area 12 to the transition line 20a from the shoulder area 12 into the Extend sleeve section 15. During the next carriage stroke, two further rows of stitches are knitted with the threads 34a and 35a over 65 over the entire length of the shoulder region 12 and the sleeve section 14. Finally, there is again a double stitch row made of threads 32a and 33a, which extends over the entire width of the knitted fabric, that is to say all three sections 12, 14

und 15 erstreckt. and 15 extends.
The cycle described is then repeated as often as required until the knitted sections 12, 14 and 15 are completed. This results in a stitch ratio between the sleeve sections 14, 15 and the shoulder area 12 of 2: 3. By changing the order of the knitting course, this stitch row ratio can be changed as desired.
In the method used here, all courses are formed from a knitted edge.
As has already been mentioned above, the garment blank 10 can also be knitted starting at the outer edge of the sleeve section 14 or the sleeve section 15, the rows of stitches, in contrast to the embodiment shown in FIGS. 2-4, running transversely to the longitudinal direction of the sleeves. Here, starting from the outer edge 27 of the sleeve area 14, the entire desired width of the sleeve area 14, indicated by the solid parallel border lines or the dashed border line 26, is knitted until line 22/28 in FIG. 1 is reached. The front section 11 and the back section 13 of the garment blank 10 are then included in the knitted width, and the rows of stitches run on the one hand from the outer end of the back section 13 over the transition line 19 to the transition line 20 and on the other hand from the outer edge 21 of the front section 11 via the transition line 20 away to
Transition line 19 in the shoulder area 12 of the garment blank. Here, a first area which is booked out by an increased number of stitches and which is delimited by lines 22/28 and transition lines 19 and 20, s and then a second area which is booked out and by lines 23/29 and transition lines 19a and 20a limited bulge area formed, both of which also lead to a pyramid-like bulge of the entire shoulder area 12.
The formed garment blank can have any desired transition points between the sleeve sections and the shoulder area through appropriate programming of the needle selection device and can be provided on its front section and on its back section with ls different patterns which extend into the shoulder area. For example, the transition lines running inwards from the back section into the shoulder area and the transition lines of the roof-like 20 transition points running inwards from the front section can be designed asymmetrically. The method can be carried out on a right / right as well as on a left / left machine for the production of two-layer blanks for clothing. A slit-like opening can be formed in the shoulder area of the garment blank to form the neckline of the garment, which can also have front sections and back sections of unequal length.
