Fig. 6 eine Teilansicht zu Fig. 5.
The invention relates to a double-acting hydraulic piston-cylinder unit with a backstop.
Units of this type are known in which the backstop on the piston rod itself takes effect. the piston rod in the area where the backstop engages. is toothed.
The invention is based on the object of designing a piston-cylinder unit of the type mentioned at the beginning.
that the backstop can take effect practically continuously over the entire stroke range and that the release of the backstop results in only a very slight movement of the piston in the sense of the forward movement.
This object is to be achieved according to the invention. that a) the piston rod or an extension firmly connected to it is connected by a non-self-locking screw connection to a member that is at least approximately axially immovable with respect to the cylinder, but is rotatable.
b> the backstop has a second embodiment in a partial longitudinal section, a brake release device on this link for action.
Important advantages and details of embodiments of the subject matter of the invention emerge from the following description and from the subclaims.
The accompanying drawing shows two embodiments as an example. They show:
Figs. 1 and 2 top views of the first and
second embodiment in partially soft longitudinal section,
3 shows a partial longitudinal section of FIG. 1 in a larger niass rod.
4 shows a partial longitudinal section of FIG. 2 on a larger scale,
Fig. 5 shows a cross section along the line V-V of Fig. 4, and
FIG. 6 is a partial view of FIG. 5.
The double-acting hydraulic piston-cylinder unit shown in FIGS. 1 and 3 has a cylinder 1. in which a piston 2 with piston rod 3 works. It is assumed that the lifting of a load, which is connected to the end 3a of the piston rod, is a movement to the right in Fig. 1, i.e. takes place when pressure medium is supplied to the cylinder chamber 4, and that an automatic backstop to be described later acts should when the pressure in this chamber 4 collapses intentionally or unintentionally.
At its left-hand end, the piston 2 has an annular shoulder 2a on which a recirculating ball nut 5 is screwed; the balls are denoted by 6 and work in a screw groove of a spindle 7, so that there is a non-self-locking screw connection between the parts 5, 7, through which every longitudinal movement of the piston 2 is converted into a rotary movement of the spindle 7; the backstop must therefore prevent the rotation of the spindle 7 when it comes into effect.
The backstop has a friction rotary brake with a hydraulically actuated brake release device. The spindle 7 protruding with its one end into a blind bore 8 of the piston rod is rotatably and displaceably mounted at its other end in a brake release piston 9 by means of a ball bearing 22, its displaceability to the right in relation to this piston 9 by a stop ring 23 a snap ring 24 seated in an annular groove of the spindle end part 7a, is limited to a dimension a that is smaller than the total stroke b + c of the brake release piston 9. This works in an end part 10 of the cylinder 2, this end part also being the stationary member which forms friction rotary brake; it has the hollow-conical friction surface iOa and longitudinal channels 25 which connect the chamber 4 with the chamber 26.
The movable part of the friction rotary brake consists of a brake rotor 11 which is secured against rotation on part 7a of the spindle 7 by a wedge 12 and is supported by an axial ball bearing 13 on the brake release piston 9; its friction surface is designated with Ii a, and it has the same conicity as the friction surface 10a. The space 14 in which the brake release piston 9 works is closed off by a cover 16 fastened to the closure part 10 by means of screws 15; it has a connection 17 for a pressure medium branch line 18, which is connected to the line serving to feed the cylinder chamber 21.
It is assumed that in the position shown a = 1.5 mm, b = 1 mm and c = 1 mm.
When pressure medium flows into chamber 4 through line 22 'and pressure medium flows out of chamber 21 as a result of the corresponding actuation of external shut-off devices (not shown), piston 2 is shifted to the right (FIGS. 1 and 3) against the load acting on piston rod 3 . When such a movement begins, the pressure medium acting in the chamber 26 presses the brake release piston 9 against the cover 15, whereas the brake rotor 11 of the backstop is lifted from the stationary braking surface 10a, in the present example by 0.5 mm, with a = 0 and there is a slight play in the axial bearing 13.
The spindle 7 together with the brake rotor is supported against further displacement to the right by means of the parts 23, 24 on the brake release piston 9. As the working piston 2 continues to move, there is only free rotation of the spindle 7 including the brake rotor 11. As soon as the supply of pressure medium to the cylinder chamber 4 ceases, or if the line 22 'breaks, the load acting on the piston rod 3 causes this Moving the brake rotor 11 back through the spindle 7 until the brake rotor 11 rests on the stationary braking surface 10a, whereby the backstop is automatically effective again.
If a return movement - to the left in FIGS. 1 and 3 - of the working piston 2 is to take place, the supply of pressure medium through the lines 20, 18 to the chambers 21 and 14 is to be released. The brake release piston is then acted upon from the chamber and moved by the amount b + c up to the stop on the end part 10; this movement is transmitted to the brake rotor 11 through the axial bearing 13.
As soon as this has been lifted from the stationary braking surface 10a, the return movement of the working piston 2 can take place. in which the spindle 7 is rotated by the non-self-locking screw connection (recirculating ball nut 5). As soon as the supply of pressure medium to the chambers 21 and 14 is switched off, or if one of the lines 17, 18 breaks, i.e. the brake release piston 9 is no longer applied, the brake rotor 11 comes to rest on the stationary braking surface 10a again, thus becoming the backstop effective again automatically. The play in the axial bearing 13 is canceled and this axial bearing 13 is also moved approximately into its central position; all moving parts now assume the position shown in FIG.
In the embodiment shown in FIGS. 2 and 4-6, an actual working cylinder 30, in which the working piston 31 works, is firmly connected to a cylinder-like housing 33, 34, in which the automatic backstop, collectively designated 35, is housed. The piston rod 36 extends this and the other side of the piston 31; at its left-hand end it carries part 37 which is connected to the load to be lifted and lowered according to the requirements; it is a prerequisite that the structural unit consisting of the parts 30, 33, 34 is mounted in a stationary manner.
The extending in the housing 33, 34 part of the piston rod 36 is over a portion of its length than to
Cooperation with a recirculating ball nut 38 suitable
Screw spindle 39 formed, the so formed
Screw connection, to which the recirculating balls 40 belong, does not have to be self-locking. The recirculating ball nut 38 is supported by means of rings 41, 42 and axial ball bearings 43, 44 to be freely rotatable but axially immovable on the housing parts 33, 34.
In this exemplary embodiment too, the non-self-locking screw connection just mentioned means that each
Axial movement of the piston 31 in a rotational movement of the
Recirculating ball nut 38 implemented. This latter forms in the
Backstop 35 a part of a ball lock designed th friction rotary brake. In three bearing openings of a control ring 45 a ball 46 is held freely rotatable. This
Balls 46 rest on the one hand against a smooth, flat face of a flange present on the nut 38 and, on the other hand, against an otherwise flat face of a support ring 48, which is provided with wedge-shaped locking depressions 47, which is
Pins 49 is attached to the housing 34.
The control ring 45 has a nose 45a on the circumference, on which in one direction of rotation namely in the sense of placing the balls 46 on the bottom of the associated wedge-like recess 47, as can be seen in FIG. 6, a plunger 51 'loaded by a spring 50 engages; acting in the other direction of rotation is the nose 45a
Rod 51a of an auxiliary piston 51 belonging to the brake release device can be brought into action.
To move the piston 31 from right to left (FIGS. 2 and 4) - in accordance with the prerequisite for lifting an external load - pressure fluid is let into the chamber 52. Via the non-self-locking screw connection, the
Nut 38 rotated in the direction of arrow a (Fig. 5 and 6), which is allowed by the ball lock because the balls 46 have the tendency to run along in the direction of arrow a. But as soon as the pressure medium supply to the chamber 52 is turned off or unintentionally stops, the external load has the tendency to
Push back the piston rod 36 and thus turn the nut 38 back. By the action of the spring 50 on the plunger 51 ', the control ring 45 and the balls 46, however, the
Ball lock as a backstop effective immediately.
If a return is to take place, pressure fluid must not only be admitted into the cylinder chamber 53, but also into the space 55 above the auxiliary piston 51 via a branch line 54 (similar to the branch line 18 of the first exemplary embodiment). The control ring 45 is thereby together with the
Balls 46 moved in the direction of arrow a and thus - as can easily be seen from a consideration of FIG. 6 - the ball lock is rendered ineffective; the returning piston rod 36 can therefore rotate the non-braked nut against the direction of rotation a. As soon as the pressure medium supply to the space above the auxiliary piston 51 (and to the cylinder space 53) is switched off again, the ball lock or the entire backstop 35 becomes effective again immediately.
As shown in Fig. 4, at the right-hand end of the
Piston rod 36 or its extension 39, an auxiliary piston 56 may be provided, which through the connection 57 approximately with
Pressure medium from a hand pump can be applied, for example, when the main pressure medium supply into the chamber 52 has failed.
In both exemplary embodiments, the forward and reverse movement of the working piston over the entire stroke area is continuously converted into a rotary movement of a brake member by the non-self-locking screw connection, which is part of a continuously acting friction brake that automatically acts as a backstop if necessary.
In both cases, a recirculating ball nut is preferably used in the non-self-locking screw connection so that the thread pitch can be kept relatively small in this screw connection, with the result that for a certain rotational path that the rotating member of the friction brake belonging to the backstop travels when it automatically responds, a correspondingly small path of the piston rod corresponds.
