Method for producing an elongated body from flowable, hardening material The invention relates to a method for producing an elongated body from flowable, hardening material, for example from concrete, certain synthetic materials and the like. The method according to the invention is characterized in that the flowable, hardening material is introduced between an immovable casting mold and the molding surface of an elastic, displaceable casting mold which extends parallel to the molding surface,
that during the hardening process of the flowable material, elastic standing waves in the displaceable casting mold are produced in order to avoid adhesion between the hardening material and the displaceable casting mold, and that after the material has hardened, the displaceable casting mold is removed from the hardened body is removed by shifting in the direction of extension of the forming surface.
According to a preferred embodiment of this process, a hollow body, for example a shaft casing or lining, is formed in the ground by lowering a mandrel lengthways into the soil, and the flowable, hardening material around the mandrel and in contact with it in the ground introduced, a vibration in the form of standing, elastic waves in the mandrel and along the same caused, whereby elastic vibrations radiate from the mandrel into the flowable material, the vibration is maintained in the mandrel during the hardening process of the material and finally the mandrel is pulled out of the hardened material.
It is obvious that in the latter method the mandrel takes over the function of the above-mentioned displaceable casting mold. In this case, the immovable casting mold can be formed by a housing, a casing or preferably by the soil itself which surrounds the mandrel. The flowable material is preferably introduced into the soil through a bore in the mandrel, in such a way that the material flows out at the lower end of the mandrel and then rises upwards in tubular form all around and in contact with the outer surface of the mandrel between the mandrel and the surrounding soil .
In this case, it is then advantageous to introduce a rinsing liquid into the bore of the mandrel in order to flush out hardened material in the mandrel, whereby rinsing liquid is preferably introduced into the bore until part of it emerges from the lower opening of the mandrel.
A preferred embodiment of the invention is characterized in that, as a preparatory procedural stage, a hole is dug in the ground which serves to receive the mandrel and the diameter of which substantially exceeds the diameter of the mandrel.
According to another preferred embodiment of the invention, the insertion of the mandrel into the ground is effected in that longitudinal, elastic vibrations are generated in the mandrel and the mandrel is at the same time pressed against the ground in the desired driving direction. It is advantageous to releasably attach a ram head at the lower end of the mandrel before it penetrates the soil, the diameter of which is larger than that of the mandrel, the ram head then being detached from the mandrel before the flowable material is injected.
According to a further preferred embodiment of the invention, the displaceable casting mold, or rather the mandrel, is also subjected to vibrations while it is being pulled out of the hardened material.
In the drawing, embodiments of the invention are shown by way of example, namely: FIG. 1 shows a longitudinal section through a device for producing a manhole lining according to the method of the invention, FIG. 2 shows a view along the line II-II of FIG. 1, FIG a partial section along the line 111-11I of Fig. 1, and Fig. 4 is a view similar to the lower part of Fig.l, but showing a modification of the invention.
It is essential to point out that the use of the word acoustical in the following description is not intended to be a restriction to the audible frequency range or the like; rather, reference is made in general to the generation and / or transmission of elastic vibrations.
The vibrator shown in Fig. 1 ent corresponds essentially to the vibration generator according to the United States Patent 3 130 552.
In the drawing, 10 denotes an earth shaft that has been dug with the help of any suitable drilling device. According to another method, to which reference is made further, the earth shaft can also be created simply by ramming the mandrel described below into the earth, although in this case the shaft then has a diameter which essentially corresponds to that of the end face corresponds to the thorn,
unless some major ram head or the like is attached to the face of the mandrel.
Reference numeral 11 denotes a tubular, elastic driving mandrel, which consists of an elastic material, for example steel, and is lowered into the shaft 10. The mandrel preferably has a smaller diameter than the shaft 10, so that an annular gap of appropriate thickness remains free, which can then be filled with a cement lining. The mandrel 11 can be of considerable length.
However, if the depth of the manhole lining to be produced is so great that a one-piece mandrel leads to difficulties, the mandrel can also be made up of several mandrel parts screwed together, for which no special explanation or drawing is required.
A central bore 12 extends in the longitudinal direction through the mandrel 11. One or more check valves 13 are accommodated in the bore 12, which let the flowable material through in a downward direction. As drawn, each check valve contains a Ven tilkugel 14, which can strike up at an annular seat 15 and is enclosed in a suitable cage, in the illustrated case by a cross pin 16 which is arranged transversely in the valve socket 17.
A supply line 20 for the flowable mate rial is connected to the upper end of the mandrel 11 such that the bore 12 can be fed with this line. The line 20 leads to a suitable supply of the flowable material, for example to a material pump, not shown.
Adjacent to the upper end, the mandrel 11 is provided with an outer piston 22 which is accommodated in an air cylinder 23, the bottom wall 24 of which surrounds the mandrel 11 at 25 in a sliding and pressure-tight manner. The piston 22 closes the cylinder 23 by means of a device 26 airtight. The cylinder space 27 below the piston 22 is filled with compressed air via an air line 28. The air pressure maintained in the cylinder space 27 should be so great that the effect of an air spring for supporting the mandrel 11 and the auxiliary arrangements attached to it is created.
The cylinder 23 has two eyes 30 which are attached via rods 31 and the arms of a suspension 32, which in turn is suspended by means of a cable 33 on any suitable lifting and lowering device, for example a device such as is usually used in connection with drilling rigs, not shown or La dekranen is used. An acoustic vibration generator 40 is coupled to the upper end of the mandrel 11.
In the example shown, the generator 40 consists of two parts 40a and 40b which are rigidly attached to opposite sides of the upper end of the mandrel 11 with the aid of bolts 41. The parts 40a and 40b act through the interposition of the mandrel as a one-piece wave generator. The design and operation of such a generator are disclosed in US Pat. No. 2,960,314. Each of the bodies 40a and 40b forms a housing with a cylindrical wall 44 which represents a circular orbit 45.
Two side plates 48 are located at opposite ends of this orbit 45 and together with this wall 44 form a cylindrical chamber in which a substantially cylindrical inertial rotor 59 is enclosed. The rotor 49 has a significantly smaller diameter than the orbit 45 and rolls around the orbit in a planetary motion, whereby it exerts a centrifugal force on the wall 44.
In this type of generator, the rotor 49 is driven by a compressed air stream which emerges tangentially to the orbit from a nozzle bore 50 fed by a compressed air line 51. The air supplied then escapes again via the outlet opening 54 in the side plates 58.
It can be seen from FIG. 1 that the two inertia rotors are moved in opposite directions of rotation. The two rotors are in synchronism with each other. This means that they are always at the appropriate points in their orbit. Thus, the rotors move together up and down, but as a result of their oppositely directed plane movement against one another in the lateral direction.
With this, however, the vertical components of the forces exerted by the rotors on the generator housing and thus on the mandrel 11 are in phase with one another and add up, while the horizontal forces, which are also equal, are directed opposite one another and thus cancel one another out.
The pressure of the air currents driving the rotors is measured in such a way that the number of rotations per second of the rotors around their orbit is in the area of the resonance frequency of the mandrel 11, so that longitudinal, standing waves occur in the mandrel, usually at half a wavelength .
Assuming a standing wave with half the wavelength, the two halves of the mandrel alternately perform elastic lengthening and shortening, the center of the mandrel corresponding to a speed node or at least a pseudo node of the standing wave, i.e. has a minimum of vibration amplitude,
and the two ends of the mandrel represent speed bellies, i.e. Perform vibrations in the direction along the mandrel with maximum amplitude.
First, the two rotors 49 will have an arbitrary phase relationship to one another. In a short time, the rotors come into a phase relationship such that they work together to a certain extent with respect to the vertical movement (in the longitudinal direction of the mandrel) or exert additive forces.
When this synchronism occurs, a vertical vibration force component is transmitted to the generator housing and thus to the upper end of the mandrel 11, and if the frequency is in the range of the fundamental resonance frequency, the mandrel will vibrate, possibly only slightly at first Approaching the desired standing wave at half the wavelength.
When this process has been initiated, the resonating vibrating mandrel tends to vibrate at a frequency just below the amplitude peak of the mandrel resonance, and this controlled vibration of the mandrel acts back on the rotors so that they vibrate at the frequency of the the mandrel are held and brought into synchronism with each other. Since the rotors then actually rotate exactly synchronously, the amplitude of the standing wave increases to its maximum.
The procedure described is as follows: First, the earth shaft 10 is excavated in the ground, for example by using any suitable drilling device. Then the mandrel 11 is lowered centrally into the shaft, specifically in a position which ensures a short distance between the mandrel and the bottom of the shaft, as can be seen from FIG.
A pump (not shown), preferably a pump with continuous flow, is connected on its inlet side to a storage container for cement slurry and on its outlet side to the supply line 20. Compressed air is fed to the acoustic vibration generator 40 via line 51, the pressure being set so that the generator operates at a frequency which excites the mandrel 11 in resonance vibrations in the form of standing waves with half-wave characteristics, as already explained above.
The check valve 13 in the bore 12 of the vibrating mandrel 11 then acts in such a way that it pumps the cement slurry down through the bore 12, the cement slurry then being discharged at the lower end of the mandrel 12 into the lower region of the shaft 10.
The pumping action takes place according to an acoustic pumping method, as described in US Pat. No. 2,444,912 (British Patent 593 197), with the only difference that in the patent the check valve opens upwards and accordingly pumps the liquid upwards, while in the embodiment described the check valve opens downwards and the pumping action accordingly also takes place in a downwards direction.
In short, the pumping process takes place in such a way that with every upward movement of the ring seat of the non-return ball valve, fluid immediately above the ring is displaced through the ring and, as a result of a momentary suction effect from below the ring, which is due to the lifting of the ring is based, moved through it. The valve ball does not sit on the seat. In other words, a vacuum generated below the ring when moving it up is filled with fluid located above the ring, which is displaced through the ring.
During the downward movement of the mandrel, the ring moves with an acceleration greater than the force of gravity, so that the ball of the valve is pressed against the ring and the fluid is thus moved downwards. Springs (not shown) can be used to load the valve balls in such a way that they normally rest on the annular valve seats.
The cement slurry pumped down through the mandrel 11 in this way fills the shaft 10 below the mandrel at 60, then rises in the annular space between the mandrel and the wall of the shaft and fills this annular space up to the surface of the ground, thus creating a tubular liner 61, as can be seen from FIG. Those parts of the vibrating mandrel 11 which touch the injected body 60 made of cement slurry below the mandrel and the inner surface of the tubular body made of cement slurry 61 surrounding the mandrel 11 over its entire underground length emit acoustic waves or
Vibrations that penetrate through the cement slurry and into the surrounding soil. The cement slurry has an impedance between that of the mandrel and that of the soil, which improves the adaptation of the latter two to one another and facilitates efficient transmission of acoustic energy from the mandrel through the mud into the soil.
It can be seen that the cement slurry is injected into the earth shaft 10 in the form of acoustic pulse trains. These cement bursts generate intermittent acoustic or compressive vibrations that are transmitted through the cement slurry into the soil and also cause intermittent compaction of both the cement slurry and the soil, which leads to a compaction of the cement and the surrounding soil.
In addition, the piston-like effect of the lower end of the mandrel contributes to compacting the sludge in the soil with every downward movement, pressing it cylindrically outwards against the wall surface of the shaft and pumping it up into the space surrounding the mandrel. The piston-like vibration effect of the lower end of the mandrel also leads to the emission of acoustic vibrations, namely around the lower end of the mandrel and up into the tubular column of cement slurry that surrounds the mandrel, with which the mud and through further transmission into the ground ultimately the soil itself can also be compacted.
Furthermore, the mandrel vibration in the form of standing waves leads to an acoustic shear effect between the lateral surfaces of the mandrel and the cement mud, which also radiate acoustic vibrations into the mud. This vibratory action occurs directly at the interface between the mandrel and the cement slurry. The various acoustic effects described here work together in such a way that the sludge is compacted and pressed cylindrically against the soil, combined with a transmission of acoustic vibrations into the soil, which leads to fluidization and subsequent compaction of the soil, as well as the cement sludge .
The acoustic effect brings about the additional effect that the sludge penetrates the fluidized and compacted soil, so that finger-like or spur-like sludge penetrations occur in the latter, as shown in FIG. 1. This improves the anchoring of the manhole lining in the ground when the cement has set and hardened.
As the cement around the mandrel sets and hardens, the acoustic standing waves are maintained in the mandrel. This avoids that the lining 61 of hardened cement adheres to the mandrel, so that the latter can easily be pulled out of the lining. The last process step after the cement has set and hardened is thus to pull the mandrel out of the lining with the aid of its lifting device. 4 shows the mandrel lifted up a short distance in the shaft, the cement lining 61 remaining in the shaft.
If desired or necessary, this last step of the method can include a vibration excitation of the mandrel when it is pulled up, in which case it is not necessary to work with the same amplitude as before. This last stage of the process makes it easier to pull out the mandrel by reducing the surface friction between the mandrel and cement lining.
The described vibration effect during the formation and setting of the lining compacts the cement in such a way that the entire lining is very tight and free of voids and cracks. The commissioning of the manhole lining, something as a well or drainage pipe, can be done in such a way that perforations or holes are formed, for example shot holes.
An additional, extremely advantageous process step is to activate the mandrel by vibrations and to raise it a short distance from its lowest position, namely when the total amount of cement has been injected into the earth shaft and the cement has already set on the outside of the mandrel, and then to lead a certain amount of water down through the central bore of the mandrel in order to wash out the cement remaining in the mandrel hole,
before the cement hardens inside the mandrel. In this way, when the cement continues to set, a cavity filled with water will remain in the lower area of the shaft. It is then no longer necessary, after the cement lining has been produced and the mandrel has been pulled out, to clean it, i.e. Remove any cement left in the mandrel.
Another advantageous method step consists in continuously changing the pressure of the air penetrating into the pipe 51 for driving the vibration generator in order to achieve frequency fluctuations. This can be achieved in the line 51 with the help of a cyclical working the throttle valve, which is not shown. Only a relatively small frequency fluctuation should be brought about in order to cause small transverse vibrations in addition to the longitudinal vibrations in the mandrel.
These additional transverse vibrations ensure that the mandrel actually remains loose in the cement as the cement sets. There are of course also other ways and possibilities for the acoustic vibration generator or its mode of operation to generate a certain amount of Querschwin conditions together with the longitudinal vibrations in the mandrel, all of these methods can be used within the inventive method if they are suitable to produce the effect mentioned.
It is obvious that many other materials can be used in addition to or instead of cement or concrete in the method according to the invention. Thus, plastics have become known which have suitable surfaces and rigidity properties in order to be suitable for the present purpose. As a result of the effectiveness of the acoustic process with the consequence of a very economical material consumption, it is now more likely to use some of the expensive hardening agents that have recently become available for use with these materials.
It has already been mentioned that the method of the invention can be carried out in such a way that first an earth shaft is dug and then the mandrel is lowered into it, the mandrel having a diameter such that a circular space between its outer surface and the inner surface of the Shaft remains and thus space is created for the lining to be formed. It has also already been pointed out that the mandrel itself can create the earth shaft in the ground, simply in that it is excited in longitudinal resonance vibrations in the form of standing waves and then pressed with its lower end against the ground.
This method is fully described in U.S. Patent 2,975,846, which is referenced for driving the mandrel. It should be pointed out here, however, that with such self-ramming of the mandrel using standing resonance waves, a certain additional force should preferably be exerted on the mandrel in a downward direction. A mandrel of the type described here is relatively heavy and its weight will usually be sufficient to produce this downward force itself.
However, additional mass loading can also be applied to the upper end of the mandrel. For example, a heavy circular ring, not drawn, can be attached to the upper end of the mandrel 11, around the feed line 20. Of course, after such self-ramming, the mandrel will lie close to the ground.
However, even with a tightly fitting mandrel, a Zementaus clothing can be formed around the mandrel, due to the pressure with which the cement is pressed out of the mandrel and the acoustic effect occurring during this process, which compacts the soil and it pushed back from the mandrel to a certain extent, so that a tubular cement column actually arises around the mandrel.
However, an enlarged head or a cap 62 with a friction fit at the lower end of the mandrel (Fig. 4, although the head is drawn in a state in which it has already detached from the mandrel) can also be attached during self-driving will. This ram head on the mandrel creates an earth shaft with a larger diameter than the mandrel. After the ramming process, the mandrel can be lifted a short distance from the floor of the shaft and then set into acoustic vibrations, whereby the head is quickly detached from the mandrel by the shaking effect.
The head then falls a short distance but is held in place in the manhole lining just below the mandrel. The cement is then injected through the mandrel with the lower end of the mandrel just above the detached head.
The head is provided with an opening 63 so that the cement can also get to the bottom of the shaft. Fig. 4 shows the state when the mandrel has been raised a short distance and is in the position in which the cement is injected, the ram head is just above the shaft bottom. 4 also corresponds to the state when the mandrel 11 is pulled out again after the tubular lining 61 has hardened.
The invention has so far been described using an example in which a manhole lining is created. Of course, this cement lining can also serve as a hollow support pile and the expression shaft lining or shaft casing should therefore be understood in a very broad sense, so that the use of the lining as a hollow pile is also included. The method according to the invention is not limited to vertical linings, but can also be used for horizontal linings and thus horizontal shafts. This makes it possible to use the method when creating tunnels or horizontal underground lines.
Chambers such as cisterns and various other storage rooms can also be created in this way. The method according to the invention is also widely applicable to the formation of large concrete forms in the construction industry. In other words, the invention provides an acoustic method for activating the casting molds in any method using a displaceable mold. For example, the method can also be used to lay strips or bands of concrete, for example in the construction of roads.
The result is that, with this wide range of possible applications, the mandrel of FIGS. 1 to 4 can be characterized as a displaceable casting mold and the earth shaft can be characterized as a fixed casting mold. The examples given can only indicate the broad field of application of the invention.
