The wall parts 21a of the wall 21 end shortly before the bottom of the glasses with each water spray mechanism, the lower lip being curved inward for sanitary reasons, as shown.
Means are provided for actuating valve 58. As can best be seen from FIG. 9, these means can include a plunger 100 which is inserted in the central bore of a support member of 101 </ B > is vertically movable, the member 101 being attached to the upper wall 21 of the glasses at the rear part thereof. The plunger is provided with a finger push button 102 and a spring 103 normally pushes the plunger upward. At the lower end of the plunger a U-shaped lever 105 is pivotably attached, the other end of which is rigidly connected to a pin 106 which is attached to the valve body 107 < / B> is worn.
A valve member 118 sits on the pin and normally closes a passage 110 which opens into line 60 .
A pair of electric motors 120 is mounted inside the housing part 18 . Each motor drives an air blower 121 seated on its motor shaft. An air inlet opening 122 covered by a screen is provided for each blower. A heating element 125 is arranged in the air path of each fan. As can best be seen from FIG. 4, the entire interior of the hollow toilet seat acts mainly as a storage chamber for the warm air which is conveyed in the direction of the arrows.
Means are provided to convey the warm air from inside the glasses to the central opening. As shown in the drawing, these means comprise a number of retractable air outlets, d. H. a rear outlet 130, a pair of lateral outlets 130a and a pair of horizontal outlets 130b. Each of the outlets has a pair of vertical pins 131 which are attached to the top of the bottom wall of the glasses, each pin extending through an opening in a horizontal support member.
On each pair of support members is a partition 133 in the form of a plate and, as Fig. 5 shows, of generally L-shaped cross-section be fastened and curved so that they 4 shows the shape of the central opening of the toilet seat adapts. A second partition wall 134, which is similarly curved, but forms an obtuse angle in cross-section by a downwardly and inwardly inclined part 135, hangs from each pair of support members.
This part 135 runs parallel to an upward and outward-facing part 136 on the partition 133. The two parallel parts direct the flow of air, as indicated by the arrows in Fig. 6a, upwards and inwards towards the opening in the middle of the toilet seat. Springs 138 on the pins 131 normally press the support members and the partition walls connected to them into the retracted position shown in FIG. 5.
The inner vertical part of the wall 21a is provided with shoulders 140 at the air inlets, which serve as a stop for the downward movement of the outlets in positions which are deeper than those shown in FIG. 6a prevent.
Electrical energy is supplied to the apparatus in the: toilet seat from a wall opening 150 by means of supply lines 155 , which lead from the wall to the hollow support element 26 . There are manually operated switches to regulate what water and air supply, and these means can, as shown in the drawing, include a manual switch 156 for two switch positions, which is within reach for the User of the toilet, as Fig. 1 shows, is mounted on the side of the glasses slightly to the rear. At the same time, a switch 157 which can be actuated by a foot pedal 158 is provided for the optional actuation.
The circuit according to FIG. 2 shows that the solenoid valve 42 is connected via an electrical conductor 160 to one of the supply lines 155 and via a conductor 161 is connected to a conductor 162 , which travels to the switching contact 163 . The conductor 162 also leads to the heating element 50 , the other end of which is led to the supply line 155 . The other switch contact 170 is connected to a conductor 171 . The motors 120 and the air heating elements 125 lie between the conductors 155 and 171. The line connections for the switch 157 are shown in dashed lines.
When using the device described here, the person concerned first operates the switch 156 or 157 around the circuit with the lines 155 and 162 to close. The valve 42 is thereby opened and the heating element 50 energized, so that the mechanisms 71 and 74 are supplied with water that has been heated to body temperature. The nozzles 74 were previously in their retracted position shown in FIGS. 5 and 7.
After water has been released under pressure into the recesses 82, , the water fills the pipe 83 and enters the pipe 88 via the slot 88 B> 89 and the nipple 95. As a result of the constriction in the nozzle, the water pressure overcomes the force of the spring 92 and the nozzle and associated parts are put into operation position according to Fig. 6 and 8.
This process takes place simultaneously with all nozzles, with the exception of the nozzle of the mechanism 61. The water is sprayed upwards from the nozzles towards the center of the opening of the glasses to create a concentrated stream of To obtain wash water, so that a part of a person's body is completely washed as far as it is exposed in the glasses opening, and the wash water then falls into the toilet bowl. Women can use the mechanism 61 for showering by never pressing the push button 102, which opens the outlet 110 and simultaneously with the water flowing through the other mechanisms 65 and 71 is supplied, through the line 60 water is supplied.
The valve 58 can, if desired, also be set up in such a way that the mechanisms 65 and 71 are blocked while the mechanism 61 in FIG Operation is.
After washing, the user operates the relevant switch in the opposite direction, so that the inflow of water is initially blocked and the nozzles move upwards into the retracted position. The circuits for the motors and heating devices 125 are then closed, the motors and their heating devices being actuated in such a way that air is drawn into the glasses and heated to the desired temperature.
The higher air pressure acts on the surface of the partition walls 133 and 135, overcomes the force of the spring 138 and pushes the outlets into their advanced position Operating positions according to FIG. 6a. Warm air is then blown in the direction of the arrows and the exposed body parts of the person using the toilet are then completely and satisfactorily dried.
The use of a hollow toilet seat as a storage chamber for the supply of heat has proven to be very useful from the standpoint of efficient operation. With such a construction, motors with an output of a fraction of a horsepower can be used as drives for the blowers and yet quite satisfactory air volumes can be obtained. The retractable What water and air supply devices are advantageous, as the result is a construction that is highly hygienic and can easily be maintained in this state.
As shown, the position of the nozzles in relation to the opening of the toilet seat is also of great importance in order to avoid unpleasant splashing of the washing water. As shown, the water and air supply mechanisms do not extend below the bottom of the goggles even in the retracted position. So the glasses can be used with toilet seats of any size without modification.
Another important feature of the device described is the structure of the water heating device. The heating element can be supplied with electricity with a low voltage (110 to 115 volts) from the normal supply network and enables an unlimited supply of hot water to the nozzles. Since the water is heated during the flow through the heating device, the effectiveness of the heating device is of particular importance. Plastic sheathing is of great value because it acts as a good heat insulator.
Regulating the temperature by means of a needle valve is a great improvement over the use of thermostats or other heating control devices, both from the standpoint of economy and from the standpoint of regulation.
Another embodiment of the device described here is shown in FIG. 3. The device is shown here in its use with a bed pan 211 or a portable bedside chair for the disabled. The glasses 17b are mainly the same as the seat 17 in FIG. 1. Only a flexible water supply pipe 201 leads from the water line 202 to the glasses. Furthermore, the glasses are provided with an extension 210, and the pan 211 itself can be slid under the glasses, as is sketched in FIG. 3.
Of course, the present invention is not intended to be limited to the device described in detail herein, but rather the scope of the invention is to be defined by the following claim.
