Description

Ballasted boat Boats fitted with stabilizing ballasts, for example made up of profiled metal plates which are fixed under their hulls, can only dock in relatively deep water.

The launching of such boats requires the use of cranes when the water is of sufficient depth, or even of transport trolleys moving in the water on an inclined plane.

In addition, when the waters are low, the embarkation of passengers on these boats can only be done offshore, after transhipment of these passengers, for example using a shallow draft boat.

The object of the present invention is a ballasted boat, the aim of which is to avoid the aforementioned drawbacks. This boat is characterized in that the ballast is formed of at least two blades articulated on its hull and in that it comprises means for controlling the rotation of each blade in a direction opposite to that of the other, so in bringing these blades together to form the stabilizing plane of this boat, when the depth of the water is sufficient, and on the contrary in moving the blades away from each other by raising them, when this depth is too low.

The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, an embodiment of the subject of the present invention, FIG. 1 is a longitudinal section thereof; fig. 2 a cross section along II-II of FIG. 1.

The boat shown is constituted by a hull 1, by a roof 2 covering a cabin 3 for the passengers, by a rudder 4 and finally by a stabilizing ballast 5.

The hull, roof and rudder are of conventional construction and will not be described in detail. The ballast 5 comprises two blades 6 and 7, the ends 6a and 7a of which are bent and articulated on the keel 8 of the boat, on each side thereof, at 9a and 10a, respectively at 9b and 10b. Levers 11 and 12 are attached to the ends 6a and 7a of the blades.

Their free ends 11a and 12a are connected to a control device, not shown, arranged in a jacket 13 fixed in a leaktight manner on the bottom of the hull, and intended to cause the levers 11 and 12 and the corresponding blades 6 and 7 to be rotated. around the axes 9a and 10a, respectively 9b and 10b.

This control device can be a mechanical or hydraulic device.

When the depth of the water is sufficient, the vangs 6 and 7 are kept close to each other so as to constitute a stabilizing plane extending under the hull perpendicular to the plane of the water (position I).

When, on the contrary, it is desired to dock in places with low water, the control device is operated so as to cause the blades 6 and 7 to pivot about their axes 9a and 10a, respectively 9b and 10b; and to bring them into a substantially horizontal plane (position ZI).

The launching of the boat is carried out by temporarily fixing rollers, or wheels with tires, to the free ends of the blades, arranged horizontally, and by dragging this boat from the edge of the water to the open sea until to reach a sufficient depth of water.

Of course, this boat can be either a sailing boat or a motor boat, in particular a motor boat for maritime navigation. -
