Scythe with device for the adjustable attachment of the scythe blade to the scythe handle.
The subject of the present invention is a scythe with a device for the adjustable attachment of the scythe blade to the scythe handle, the scythe blade being held by a hollow dome which interacts with locking means of a holder part attached to the scythe handle in such a way that the scythe blade is in all directions in the loosened state of these locking means can be adjusted.
For example, it has already been proposed to screw a hollow dome onto the talon of the scythe blade, which can be clamped between a conical surface of a first clamping part and a concave surface of a second clamping part connected to the first clamping part by a screw.
I) The hollow dome then has an opening that is significantly larger than the cross section of the locking screw. This enables the calotte carrying the scythe blade to be adjusted when the screw is loosened.
Furthermore, it is also known to attach a holder part provided with a hollow dome to the end of the scythe handle. The end of the talon of the scythe blade was hemispherical and lay in the inner part of the hollow spherical cap, while a nut cooperating with a screw bolt that penetrated all these clamping parts was placed against the outer side of the same.
Despite the adjustability of the scythe blade, the proposed constructions were not able to prevail, because the construction is relatively expensive and complicated, and the handling of the scythe is more difficult because the scythe blade due to the talon and the additional means at least in certain positions so far from the scythe handle it occurs that a disturbing moment of force occurs which has to be constantly compensated by the user of the scythe during work, whereby the workload is unnecessarily increased.
As a result of these disadvantages, the attachment of the scythe blade to the scythe handle (Worb) usually remained in such a way that it was not possible to adjust the scythe blade. For the beneficial mowing, the scythe had to be straightened by a blacksmith using what is known as "hiring". The carefully hardened, new scythe of the Talon is heated and thus annealed. As a result, it loses a lot of quality and strength, so that a reinforcement strut has to be attached to the new scythe to prevent mowing.
The purpose of the invention is now to create a scythe that can be adjusted in all directions without, however, exhibiting the disadvantages listed which have hitherto stood in the way of a general introduction.
The scythe according to the invention is characterized in that the dome is arranged directly on the scythe blade without the use of a talon or other intermediate links.
Various views of two exemplary embodiments of the subject matter of the invention are shown on the illustration.
Fig. 1 illustrates a partially ge cut view of the first embodiment fonn gemma, the section line 1-1 of FIG. 3, wherein the scythe blade is directed away from the viewer.
Fig. 2 shows a view of this example, seen from the stump side of the scythe blade.
Fig. 3 contains the representation of the first embodiment in the direction of the upper flat side of the scythe blade.
FIG. 4 shows a section taken along the line 4-4 according to FIG. 1.
FIG. 5 relates to a view of a second embodiment similar to FIG. 1 but not in section.
FIG. 6 shows a section along line 6-6 according to FIG. 5.
The end piece of the scythe handle shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 is denoted by 1. It contains a hole penetrated by a bolt 2. This bolt 2 is used to fasten the holder part 4, which is likewise provided with a bore and which, after the wing nut 3 has been lodened, can be pivoted relative to the scythe handle 1 in such a way that the scythe blade is easily moved when the scythe is used. can be folded against the handle. The bolt 6 which refends into a slot 5 of the holder part 4 acts as a stop when the scythe blade 7 is folded out.
The scythe blade 7 contains a spherical cap S made from the same piece, which is produced, for example, by forging or hot pressing before the scythe blade 7 is hardened. This dome does not necessarily have to be made in one piece with the scythe blade. It can also be welded to the scythe blade. In any case, however, the cap is arranged directly on the scythe blade without using a talon or other intermediate links. The dome 8 merges into the edge of the scythe blade 7 in the form of rib-like reinforcements 8 ′ and 8 ″. The outer surface of the dome 8 rests against a spherically concave surface of the clamping part 9, which forms a piece of the holder part 4 .
In the working position of the scythe blade, the clamping part 9 and thus also the dome 8 lie in the extension of the scythe handle. When using a holder part 4 that is not pivotably attached to the scythe handle, this would of course also apply in the rest position of the scythe blade. The spherical cap 8 also cooperates with locking means, which are composed of the pressed or cast clamping part 10, the screw bolt 11 and the screw nut 12. A part of the surface of the clamping part 10, which also acts as a clamping part, is spherical and convex, specifically in such a way that it rests against the inner surface of the hollow spherical cap 8.
From FIG. 4 it can be seen that the surfaces between which the dome 8 is clamped are slightly corrugated. A wave trough of one surface is always opposed to a wave crest on the other surface and vice versa. It cannot happen that two wave crests are directed against each other because the clamping part 10 is screwed to the clamping part 9 by means of a profiled bolt, which is selected to be square in the example shown. The openings contained in the clamping part 10 and in the clamping part 9 of the holder part 4 for the passage of the screw bolt 11 are of course adapted to the cross-sectional profile of this bolt.
An opening 13 is also provided in the dome 8, but this is chosen to be significantly larger, so that when the nut 12 is loosened, the dome 8 is between the clamping part 10 and the clamping part 9 within certain limits with respect to the screw bolt 11 Pivot in all directions.
It can therefore be seen that it is easily possible, after loosening the nut 12, to bring the scythe blade 7 into any desired position for the mower. In Figures 1, 2 and 3 is indicated by dash-dotted lines, according to which directions the scythe sheet 7 can be pivoted. After the scythe blade has been brought into the desired position in this way, it can be clamped by tightening the nut 12.
Once the position has been set, it can no longer be inadvertently adjusted, since the dome 8 can no longer slide between the clamping members 9 and 10 due to the corrugated surfaces. After using the scythe, the scythe blade 7 can be easily folded in by loosening the wing nut 3, without it being necessary to change the setting of the scythe blade.
In the second embodiment of the subject matter of the invention shown in FIGS. 5 and 6, a holder part 4 that is pivotably attached to the handle 1 is also provided. This consists of one piece with the clamping part 9 '. In contrast to the exemplary embodiment already described, the clamping part 9 'is held together with the clamping part 10' by a conventional screw bolt with a circular cross-section.
So that the two parts do not move after tightening the nut 12. can rotate more against each other, the clamping part 9 is provided with a recess 16 in which the on the clamping part. 10 'pressed-on nose 15 engages. I) he Anssehnitt 14 of the hollow cap 18 arranged directly on the scythe blade ge equips the Versehwenken the scythe blade 7 'despite the nose 15. This embodiment has the main advantage over the scythe according to FIGS. 1-4 that a gradual widening of the hole of the clamping part prevented by the angular bolt.
It is also possible to apply only a single or a few wave troughs or wave crests instead of continuously corrugated clamping and clamping parts, since this would generally also be sufficient for holding the scythe blade. In addition, several noses 15 and recesses 16 can also be provided.
