Lock with combinations. The subject of the present invention is a combination lock, in particular for safes. The object of the invention is to improve the efficiency of the to combination locks and to simplify the construction, thus reducing the possibility of inaccuracies in their operation.
The lock according to the invention is characterized in that it comprises a bolt, a locking member of the latter, a movable control shaft passing through a plate and carrying an arm making it possible to act on each coupled control member < B> to a groove, said control members and the grooves being rotatably mounted on the same axis, the grooves having notches which, once brought opposite said locking member, allow to </ B > the latter to move so to authorize the movement of the bolt.
An embodiment of the object of the invention is illustrated, to by way of example, in the accompanying drawing.
Fig. 1 shows the lock seen from the inside of the door, in the closed position.
Fig. 2 is a section taken along line 11-II of FIG. 1.
Fig. 3 is a # view similar to to fig. 1, the members of the lock being adjusted to allow the lock to be opened, only the members being shown which occupy a modified position with respect to to FIG. 1.
Fig. 4 is a plan view of a groove on a reduced scale. Fig. 5 is a transverse section along the line V-V of FIG. 4, and fig. 6 is a side view.
The palastre of the lock consists of a base plate 1 or plate, provided with holes 2 for screws which serve to fix the base plate against the face, interior of a door, and side walls, 3 andI provided with grooves to receive cover plates 5 and 6. The plate bottom 1 com carries a hollow hub 7 and internally carries bosses 8, 9, 10, 11.
A vertically movable slide 12 is placed on the bottom key plate 1 . This slider has three projecting arms 13, 14, 15, one to next to each other, the two extremes 13, 15 being directed upwards and the median arm 14 being folded in the axial direction. The slide is guided by the bosses 10, 11 as well as by the hub 7 which is located between the arms 13, 15.
The locking members of the lock are grooves, the construction of which is clearly visible. in fig. 4 to 6. Each groove is formed by an outer ring 19 and an inner ring 20, the outer ring being rotated on the inner ring which is mounted on the hub 7 by its central opening 21; this opening 21 is elongated downwards, so that the inner panel with the outer one can be moved upward relative to the hub, this movement having to take place when the lock is to be adjusted for new combination.
In order to make this movement possible, the arm 14 of the slider 12 is secured in a perforation 22 of each inner year. Each outer ring 19 has a part 27 obtained by stamping and offset laterally with respect to the plane of the ring. This part 27 has a radial notch, 23 as well as a radial tooth 24 - directed inwards, and it is separated from the body of the ring, < B> at its inner end, by two side slits 25 and 26; a space 28 is thus provided between the surface de-ring and part 27.
On the hub 7, against the arms 13 and 15 of the coalLsseau. 12, a member 17 is rotatably mounted to return the grooves in return. This return member has an arm 18 , the end of which is folded in the axial direction and it is formed by a sector of a circle and by an ear of reduced radius such as the arm 14 da slider 12 cannot hinder the rotation of the return member, as can be seen in FIG. 1.
The groove actuators consist of parts mounted for rotation on the hub 7 and each fitted with two diametrically opposed radial arms 29, 30 and 33, 34 as well as 35, 36 respectively. Each S organ is constituted by a sector of toothed circle 31 with hollow 32 and by an opposite ear to -this sector, with a radius such that the arm 14 of the slide 12 cannot hinder the rotation of the control member by a certain angle.
Spacer washers 37 are mounted on the hub 7 on both sides of the grooves, between the grooves and the control members. The arm 14 of the slider 12 passes through a rectangular perforation 38 of each washer, which prevents them from rotating; the perforation has the same width as the arm, but it has a greater height, so that the movement of the slider and said arm up is not blocked.
The tooth 24 of each groove is engaged in: one of the hollows 32 of the toothRead of the corresponding control member. In this way, the grooves and the control members are coupled in pairs mounted to rotate on the same axis. In the embodiment described, the grooves and the control members are laterally coupled in pairs rotatably mounted in a row on a common support constituted by the hub 7.
An elbow arm 39 provided with a radial projection 41 directed inwards and with an axial sleeve 40 is mounted on the control shaft 42 of the lock and fixed thereon by a pin 43; the shaft 42 passes through the plate 1, and the shaft-sleeve assembly is rotatably and axially movable in the hub 7 by means of the sleeve 40.
A bolt 44 is housed in the upper part of the palastre and is constituted by a wing of a U bar, the other wing of which is used to operate the bolt. This is movable through through an opening 46 of the wall 4 and guided in a groove of the bosses 8, 9. It is held in a horizontal position by the cover 5. The bolt 44 presents a Z window 47 with two inclined edges 48, 49. The wing 45 of the bolt abuts against the wall 4 and thus limits the movement from the bolt to the outside; it also has a notch 50.
Between bosses 8 and 9 is mounted a member 51 for locking the bolt, capable of vertical rectilinear movement. The lower part of this member has a somewhat reduced thickness and constitutes a crosspiece 52 located above all the grooves. The member 51 has a hole for a pin 53 which passes through the window 47 of the bolt 44. The bolt 52 is moved vertically by the 'action of the inclined edges 48, 49, when the bolt 44 is moved horizontally.
A bottom slide 54. rests movably on the lower cover plate 6 and two projections 55, 56 of the rear edge of this slide are engaged below the bosses 10, 11. -The ends of the bottom slide and part of the longitudinal edge adjacent to the plate 1 thereof are i folded upwards, forming wings 57, 58, 59. The wing 58 of the longitudinal edge has a Z window 60 with inclined edges 61, 62. The opposite longitudinal edge of the bottom slide 54 is guided by guides 63, </ B> 64.
A pin 16, fixed to the vertical slide 12, is engaged in the window 60, so to be able to impart a vertical movement to the slide vertical 12, when the bottom slider 54 is moved horizontally.
The part of the lock located on the outside of the door and used to control the lock shaft, has not been shown in the drawing, since said shaft is actuated so known.
The lock is released as follows: From the locking position shown to in fig. 1, the shaft is pulled out as far as possible, and the projection 41 of the elbow arm 39 thus comes opposite the arm 36 </ B > of the actuator 31. The shaft is now rotated counterclockwise, and the projection 41 hooks and moves the bottom 36. </ B > The outer groove ring 19, coupled to the corresponding toothed sector of the control member, takes part in this rotary movement, so that the notch < B> 23 of the throat ring is brought next to. the crossbar 52, where the rotary movement is stopped by a locking device (not shown).
At the start of the movement of sector 31, the arm 35 opposite to the arm 36 and belonging to the same control member 31, hooks the arm 18 of the return member 17 and moves it by the same angle of rotation. The shaft is now turned in the direction of clockwise and pushed axially towards the interior of an axial stage, so that the projection 41 is brought opposite the arm 34 of the next control member; the operation described above is then repeated as many times as there are there grooves, bringing the notches 23 of all the grooves facing the cross 52, if the exact combination has been used.
In the event that an incorrect combination has been used, one or more of the notches 23 are not placed opposite the cross member. After the last movement of the shaft, the projection 41 of the elbow arm 89 will have exceeded every g barley, as can be seen in / fig. 2.
After the last axial movement, the shaft is turned in an anti-clockwise direction, so that the elbow arm 39 hooks, through the notch 50, </ B > the wing 45 and push it with the bolt 44 inwards; the inclined edge 49 thus forces the spindle 53 down together with the crossbar 52. If all the notches 23 are in the horn position recte facing the crossbar 52, the latter can descend and the movement of the bolt is accomplished to the open position.
The closing of the lock is effected as follows. In the or green position of the lock, as shown to in fig. 3, the elbow arm 39 has its projection 41 engaged in the notch 50. The shaft is now turned clockwise 'a watch and, by this movement, the bolt 44 is pushed out and the edge 48 of the window 47 lifts the pin 53 and with it the crossbar 52 which is thus released from the notches 23, so that the groove rings 19 are released res.
Continuing to turn the elbow arm 39, it hooks the arm 18 of the return member 17, </ B> so that this arm 18 abuts successively against the arms 35, 33 and 29 and turns all the control devices 31 as well as the throat rings 19 back to the initial position. This movement is stopped when the arms 29, 33 and 35 butt against the boss 8, and the lock is closed as shown in fig. 1.
Adjustment of the lock for a new combination is carried out as follows: In the closed position of the lock (fig. 1), the notches 23 are brought in of each groove facing the cross member. The wing 57 is now pushed with the * bottom water slide 54 to the left until it hits the wall 3. </ B> By this movement, the inclined edge 61 of the window 60- of the wing 58 lifts the nipple 16 </ B> and at the same time also the vertical slide 1.2 to which it is fixed.
