Cutting machine. Often the gears at. machining on the cutting machines are so small that their pins risk bending when they are placed on the cleats or when they are removed.
The present invention aims to obviate this. disadvantage. Its object is a machine to be cut, having a fixed headstock with an axially fixed point and a tailstock with an axially movable tailstock, for the maintenance of pinions by their two pivots, characterized in that it com takes a fixed extractor in immediate proximity (the tailstock and a movable extractor in the immediate vicinity of the point, the former mobile tractor being actuated by a withdrawal device.
of the tailstock as soon as it has covered at least part of its stroke.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the ma ehine object of the invention.

lia fig. ? is a section taken along line N1-13 of FIG. l., taken in the direction of the arrow Il.
Fig. 3 is. a section along the line, -B of FIG. 1, taken in the direction of arrow 111.
Fig. 4 is an elevational view, on an enlarged scale, showing a pinion being machined on the machine of FIG. 1, and fig. 5 is an elevational view similar to that of FIG. 4, but showing the machined pinion, while it is in the process of extrac ti9n.
The cutting machine shown comprises a frame 1 which supports a fixed headstock 2 with a divider 3 connected to a barrel 4 which supports an axially fixed point 5 arranged as a cleat and a tailstock 6 having a bore 7 in which can move a piston 8 provided with a tailstock 9. The rear end of the piston rod 10 carries a collar 11 on which can act an arm 12 fixed on an actuating rod 13.
By means of a 14 pi lever voted in 15 on the headstock 2, this rod 13 can be moved to the right in bearings 16 and 17 along its axis, which is parallel to the common axis of the tip 5 and of the tailstock 9, to cause the withdrawal of the tailstock 9 by means of the arm 12, the collar 11 and the piston 8, this being done against a coil spring 18 surrounding the piston rod 10 and resting, on the one hand, on a shoulder of the piston 8 and, on the other hand, on a shoulder of the bore 7.
A fixed extractor 19, consisting of a leaf spring and fixed at its posterior end on the tailstock 6 by means of a screw 20, has an anterior part which extends along a flat 21 that the tailstock 9. The rotating tool 22 can therefore be brought into the position it occupies at the start of the machining stroke without it coming too close to the fixed extractor 19 which, for its part, is located in the immediate vicinity of the tailstock 9.
A movable extractor 23 is slidably mounted on the actuating rod 13 and on a guide rod 24 parallel to the rod 13 and fixed in the headstock 2. In a variant embodiment, the guide rod 24 could, be fixed to the tailstock 6. A collar 25 fixed to the actuating rod 13 by means of a screw 26 couples the extractor 23 with the rod 13 as soon as the latter has caused an at least partial withdrawal of tailstock 9. Extractor 23 is then driven to the right to. against a coil spring 27. This latter relies on a shoulder 28 provided at the free end of the guide rod 24.
Its mission is to return the extractor 23 to its initial position when the lever 14 is released. In this initial position, the extractor 23 abuts against a stop ring 29 fixed and adjustable on the guide rod 24 by means of a screw 30.
During its machining, the pinion 31 is supported by its pivots 32 in coaxial bores 33 provided for this purpose in the drive cleat 5 and in the tailstock 9. During the withdrawal of the tailstock 9 , the machined pinion usually remains stationary relative to. one of parts 5 and 9. If it moves with the. tailstock, it is the fixed extractor 19 which intervenes by opposing a subsequent movement in the horizontal direction. In detail, the adjustments are made so that the pinion 31 abuts with one face against the tip of the fixed extractor 19 as soon as the pivot 32 located at the other end of the pinion is completely out of the bore 33 of the pile. practice bucket.
In the other case, that is to say if the pinion 31 remains stationary relative to the cleat 5, although the tailstock 9 moves away from it, the active part of the movable extractor 23, formed in V and located in the immediate vicinity of the outer end (the cleat 5, intervenes when the tailstock 9 has completely left the pivot 32 that it had just supported. The mobile extractor 23 also acts on one side. of pinion 31, as close as possible to the pinion axis.
It is true that both the thrust of the fixed extractor 19 and that of the mobile extractor 23 is an eccentric thrust. However, the resulting bending moment does not reach by far the value which would be necessary to produce a bend of one or the other of the pivots. In fact, the force is a very low friction force and the eccentricity is very small, in any case less than the maximum diameter of the pinion. This is not the case when unloading by hand, which has hitherto been practiced.
The bending force resulting from a more or less sudden grip of the pinion is certainly a multiple of the friction force. which retains one of the pivots 32 in one of the bores 33: the lever arm of this bending force is also a multiple of the eccentricity mentioned above, it is on average equal to half -length of pinion, always much greater than. half of the maximum pinion radius that the said eccentricity comprises on average.
Some details of the. embodiment shown may. be modified without departing from the scope of the invention. Thus, for example, the actuating lever 14, which has been shown as lever to. hand, can be a lever from one mechanism to another. cam controlled by the cutting machine itself to ensure the extraction of the machined parts automatically.
