Abstract

Patente de Invenção para <B>"MALTO-OLIGOSACARìDEOS REDUZIDOS"<D>. é revelado um método para a redução de uma mistura de oligosacarídeo e uma mistura de oligosacarídeo desse modo preparada. De acordo com a invenção, uma mistura de oligosacarídeo tendo um dado perfil de DP é reduzida a um DE de essencialmente zero por hidrogenação cataliticamente da mistura sob condições de reação adequadas para preservar o perfil de DP da mistura, com as condições de reação tipicamente incluindo uma temperatura de reação variando de cerca de 50°C a cerca de 150°C, e uma pressão de reação variando até cerca de 1500 psi. Surpreendentemente, quando a mistura é uma mistura de malto-oligosacarídeo, a mistura reduzida terá uma firmeza de cor superior e estabilidade térmica conforme comparado a uma mistura não-reduzida similar de malto-oligosacarídeos, e também baixa reatividade em direção às espécies contendo nitrogênio.
