Abstract
"PROCESSOS PARA ALTERAR A MOLHABILIDADE E A ABSORVêNCIA DE áGUA EM FIBRAS TêXTEIS, PARA AUMENTAR A MOLHABILIDADE E A ABSORVêNCIA DE áGUA EM FIBRAS DE ALGODãO E PARA ALTERAR AS PROPRIEDADES FìSICAS DE FIBRAS DE POLIéSTER, E, FIBRA DE POLIéSTER AROMáTICO". Fibras têxteis são tratadas com enzimas na ausência de agentes tensoativos, com o efeito de aumentar a molhabilidade e absorvência das fibras. As enzimas são pectinases, celulases, proteases lipases ou combinações das mesmas. As propriedades de molhamento das fibras de algodão são substancialmente melhoradas pelo tratamento com uma mistura de celulase e pectinase. Foram estudados os efeitos de cinco enzimas hidrolíticas no melhoramento da hidrofilicidade de diversos tecidos poliéster. Quatro das cinco lipases estudadas melhoram as propriedades de molhamento à água e a absorvência de mesma de tecidos poliéster regulares, mais do que a hidrólise alcalina sob condições ótimas (NaOH 3 N, a 55°C, durante 2 horas). Comparado à hidrólise aquosa, as reações enzimáticas mostraram ser eficazes sob condições mais moderadas, incluindo uma concentração relativamente baixa (0,01 g/l), um tempo de reação mais curto (10 minutos), a uma temperatura ambiente (25°C). Ao contrário dos resultados com hidrólise alcalina, a molhabilidade melhorada é acompanhada de total retenção da resistência. A lipase também se mostrou eficaz no melhoramento das propriedades de molhamento e de absorvência de tecidos de poliéster sulfonado e de poliéster microdenier.
