formulações flexíveis e adaptáveis para simulações de reservatório complexas. um método para realizar uma simulação de um reservatório de hidrocarboneto de subsuperfície é divulgado. cada célula em um modelo de reservatório tem um conjunto de equações representando uma propriedade de reservatório. um limite de estabilidade é determinado para cada célula. cada célula é designada para uma formulação explícita ou implícita. uma solução para o sistema de equações é resolvida para usar uma suposição inicial e uma formulação explícita ou implícita. um limite de estabilidade é calculado para as células convergidas. quando o número de células não convergidas é maior do que uma quantidade predeterminada, um sistema não linear reduzido é construido com uma lista de células não convergidas. o sistema não linear reduzido é solvido com a formulação implícita, e outras células são resolvidas com a formulação explícita. partes do método são repetidas até que todos os conjuntos de equações satisfaçam um critério de convergência e um critério de estabilidade, e a solução resolvida seja produzida.
