Abstract

"áCIDO NUCLEICO ISOLADO, SEQuêNCIA DE AMINOáCIDOS, CONSTRUçãO DE GENE, VETOR, ORGANISMO, PROCESSO PARA A PRODUçãO DE PUFAS, óLEO, LIPìDEO OU áCIDO GRAXO OU FRAçãO DESTES, COMPOSIçãO OLEAGINOSA, LIPìDICA OU DE áCIDOS GRAXOS, USO DA MESMA, ANTICORPO, SEQuêNCIA DE NUCLEOTìDEOS ANTI-SENTIDO, E, KIT". A invenção diz respeito a um novo gene elongase tendo a seq³ência SEQ ID NO: 1 ou seus derivados, a uma construção de gene que compreende esta seq³ência ou seus derivados, e a seu uso. A seq³ência de ácido nucleico inventiva codifica um polipeptídeo que alonga o ácido <244>-linolênico (C~ 18:3 d9,12,15~) em pelo menos dois átomos de carbono, enquanto o ácido <sym>-linolênico (C~ 18:3 d6, 9, 12~) não é alongado. A invenção adicionalmente diz respeito a vetores ou organismos que compreendem um gene elongase tendo a seq³ência SEQ ID NO: 1 ou seus derivados. A invenção ainda diz respeito a um processo para a produção de ácidos graxos poliinsaturados (=PUFAs) com um organismo que compreende o gene elongase, organismo este que produz altas quantidades de óleos e, especialmente, óleos com um alto teor de ácidos graxos insaturados. Adicionalmente, a invenção diz respeito a uma composição oleosa e/ou de ácido graxo com um teor mais elevado de ácidos graxos C~ 20~ OU C~ 22~ poliinsaturados com pelo menos duas ligações duplas, e/ou a uma composição de triacilglicerol com um teor mais elevado dos referidos ácidos graxos poliinsaturados.
