<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>

"Oscillating arm machine for cutting meat."
In order to give greater robustness to machines for cutting meat with an oscillating arm serving as a support for the knife, the bearing of the oscillating arm has been placed in a support frame which spans the food it s. 'acts of cutting as well as the table on which it is clamped. However, the result is that it is difficult to reach the collet of the table.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
The invention aims to eliminate this drawback in that, with a view to the positioning of the food to be cut, the lower table of the machine which supports the table-meat is made to slide. As this lower table is no longer attached to the frame of the machine, as was generally the case until now, certain measures should be taken to be able to interrupt, when the lower table is slid towards the rear, the advance device between the lower swing arm and washable. This result is obtained, according to the invention, by means of an automatic device for disengaging the control member of the advance mechanism.
The drawing represents an example of execution of the object of the invention.
Fig. 1 schematically shows one construction assembly of a meat slicer according to the invention, seen from the rear.
Fig. 2 is a longitudinal cut through the control device of the advance mechanism.
Fig. 3 is a section taken along line 3-3 of FIG. 2.
The meat-cutting machine shown comprises a frame 1 of which two uprights 2, 2 'rise above the meat-carrying table 4 of the machine. In the transverse part 5 bringing together the uprights 2, 2 'of the frame is placed the bearing of the oscillating arm 6 which carries at its free end the circular knife 7. The knife 7 is controlled, for example, from using a chain transmission and a gear train from an electric motor 8.
This arrangement is known and needs no further description.
According to the invention, the lower table 9 which supports the meat table 4 is mounted with a view to sliding on guide bars 10, 11 so that, for
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
Once the food is placed, it can be released from the uprights 2.2 'of the machine by pulling it back. This backward movement has the effect of pulling at the same time rearward the feed screw 13 mounted in the lower table 9, which eliminates the connection between said screw and its control, derived from the oscillating arm 6. This connection must be reestablished as soon as we bring back to its forward position, that is to say to its service position, the lower table 9 and the meat-carrying table mounted on it.
According to the exemplary embodiment shown, this interruption in the connection between the feed screw and its control occurs at the point where the control pawl 14 attacks the ratchet wheel 15. This wheel 15 is rigidly connected to the feed screw 13, while the control pawl 14 is articulated by means of a pin 16 to an oscillating cheek 17 whose articulation constitutes a bush 18 screwed into a member 19 fixed to the upright 2 'of built. In this hollow sleeve penetrates, moreover, the advance screw 13 when the lower table 9 occupies its service position (fig.2).
Against the end of the advance screw penetrating into the cavity of the sleeve a pusher 20 is applied, guided in the sleeve in the manner of a piston and which tapers in the direction of the advance screw. This pusher is fixed to a rod 21, the end of which carries a stop 22.
Between the pusher 20 and a ring 23 screwed into the sleeve 18 is interposed a spring 24 working in compression and which tends to apply the pusher against the end of the feed screw.
When the lower table 9 and its feed screw 13 are brought back towards the rear, the pusher 20 comes to occupy the position indicated in dotted lines in FIG. 2, position for which the stop 22 bears against the inner ring 23.
While this forward movement of the pusher 20 takes place
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
-duit ,, a pin 25 'bearing against the conical face of the pusher is pushed outwards and applied against a lug 26 integral with the click 14. The displacement of the pusher 20 forward, and the pushing back of the pin 25 towards the outside which is the consequence thereof, therefore have the result of pushing back the lug 26 of the pawl 14 and, consequently, of disengaging the latter from the teeth of the ratchet wheel 15.
This lifting of the pawl is provided so that, as a backup to the sliding movement of the lower table intended to bring it back inwards, the ratchet wheel 15 does not come into abutment against the point of the control pawl 14, and that on the contrary, the latter is not lowered onto said wheel until after this movement has ceased.
On the oscillating cheek 17 is provided an axis 27 which comes to attack the control rod connected on the other hand to the oscillating arm. In order to allow the ankle 25 to move freely during the oscillating movement of the plate 17, the sleeve 18 has a groove 29 which extends over an arc of a circle corresponding to the amplitude of the movement. ankle 25.
As indicated in fig. 2, the bush 18 also carries the usual adjusting cam 30 by means of which the magnitude of the feed movement is adjusted. 31 designates the guide bar of the meat table.
