Description

 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

  'Process for the treatment of fibers in rovings of artificial silk:. "
The main patent relates to a process for the treatment of fibers in rovings of artificial sole, according to which powdery materials of granular, crystalline or amorphous nature are mixed with the fibers before spinning or carding. These added materials must be fixed on the fibers, for example by drying.

   During the development of this process it has been found that it appears useful to treat the fibers with solutions of crystallizable materials, in particular materials which crystallize well and easily on evaporation.

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

  In this way, a very evenly distributed, fine crystalline coating is produced on the fibers. Low concentration saline solutions are preferably used.

   The application to the surface of the fiber is done either by soaking the fibers with a solution of crystal materials
11 sandblasted, either by immersing the fibrous materials in the solution, or by causing the solution to flow onto the fiber in the form of drops or in finely pulverized form. Drying can be enhanced by the application of heat or vacuum.

   We can further increase the adhesion of the crystals by adding lubricants or other agglutinants such as soap, olein, doctrine etc.

   Summary.
