Abstract
The automatically coupling coupler for rail vehicles having side buffers has at the side of the coupling heads 5,5' in each case one auxiliary coupler, the pulling elements 9,9' of which are already couplable if the coupling heads 5,5' are still at a distance from one another. As a result, a coupling of the pulling force transmission by rail vehicles standing in a track curve is possible if only their side buffers 1,1' on the inside of the curve are touching and the coupling heads 5,5' having in each case one coupling plane 6,6' lying in the buffer plane 3,3' are still at a distance from one another. After being moved into a straight track section, the coupling heads 5,5' can be pressed together for coupling.
