Description
<Desc/Clms Page number 1>

Process for the production of cold glue from blood.
It is known to produce cold glue from blood in such a way that a mixture of leaf, lime and water is left to its own devices until it has lost its stickiness and is transformed into a jelly. In this process, however, the fibrin, which has a particularly strong adhesive force, is excreted.
According to the new method, the blood is mixed with oxalic acid, sodium citric acid or the like, whereby the fibrin remains in solution; it is evaporated with the blood albumin and gives again
EMI1.1
If this blood albumin enriched with fibrin is brought back into solution with alkalis and, as is known, mixed with a soluble calcium salt, the end product results in a water-insoluble glue with particularly good adhesive properties.
PATENT CLAIMS:
1. A method for the production of cold glue from blood, characterized in that the freshly obtained blood to be dried with a substance that forms an insoluble compound with lime, such as. B. oxalic acid, sodium citric acid, sodium oxalic acid or the like., Is added for the purpose of preventing the precipitation of the fibrin.
