EMI1.1

EMI1.1
It is known to use so-called transition couplings, which have the shape and the mode of operation of the final central buffer couplings, during the transition from the non-automatic very screw coupling to the automatic central buffer coupling. They are attached to the towing hooks of the old facility and remain in operation until all of the wagons are equipped with the final central buffer couplings. The transition couplings are then removed again. These devices have the disadvantage that considerable additional resources have to be used for the transition clutches, the service life of which is by no means exhausted. The invention aims to avoid this disadvantage.
This is achieved by the fact that the trolleys are immediately connected to the final central buffer coupling
EMI1.2
Maul is a normal towing hook with a screw coupling that can be attached in the normal position of the old system. The wagons equipped in this way, which also keep the side buffers, run first
EMI1.3
in such a way that the draw hooks and screw couplings as well as the side buffers are removed and the central buffer couplings are pulled forward to the operating position, which can be carried out in one day without difficulty with the entire fleet of vehicles.
The device also has the further advantage that with the changeover a shortening of the car spacing, which is very desirable in view of the shortening of the train length, can be made, which is not possible with the method with transition couplings. because with this procedure the final central buffer couplings must first work together with the transition couplings and the side buffers.
In the drawing, FIG. 1 shows in axial section an exemplary embodiment of the invention used as a transition coupling, FIG. 2 shows a representation corresponding to FIG. 1 after the changeover to an automatic clutch, FIG. 3 shows a second exemplary embodiment in one of FIG Representation as a transition coupling and FIG. 4 the same exemplary embodiment as the final coupling, FIG. 5 a third exemplary embodiment in axial section as a transition coupling and FIG. 6 as the final coupling.
Figs. 1 and 2 show the transition device in use on wagons that are equipped with a continuous pulling and pushing device known to them. This device consists of two outer pull and push rods C, which are connected to the central pull and push rods E by pipes D. Between the two central rods E, the distance between which can be increased and decreased. a spring F is arranged, which is tensioned in a known manner both when increasing and decreasing the distance between the rods E.
The carriage is connected to the rods C by the stops C, the spring plates H and the box springs J in this way. that the box springs are tensioned with each movement of the rods C relative to the carriage. On the rods C three threaded sections el, e2 and c3 are attached. In the one shown in FIG

Threaded sections c3 are screwed to the threaded sections d1, while the drivers K are unscrewed from the threaded sections cl and screwed onto the threaded sections c2.
3 and 4 show the transition device in another known pulling and pushing device. In this device, the central buffer couplings L and the coupling joints M are supported by springs 0 against a pushing member P1. P2. In addition to the springs 0, which transmit the compressive forces to the pusher member and the tensile forces through the spring plate Q to the carriage, there are also further springs R which, when the device is compressed, maintain a resilient connection with the carriage by means of stops T and T1.
With regard to the transition between
EMI2.2
The pusher member consists of two telescopically nested tubes p1 and p2, which are connected to one another by a wedge S either in the shortened position shown in FIG. 3 or in the extended position shown in FIG. During the conversion, this wedge S is first loosened, whereupon the stop saws T are removed. Then the clutches L with the entire spring arrangement and the halves of the pusher members pl and P2 can be pulled outward until the spring plates Q hit stops U. Finally, the stops T and the wedge S are again in the manner shown in FIG built-in.
5 and 6 show the changeover in a so-called separate pull and push device. In the arrangement shown, the tension and compression spring V is arranged between the coupling W and the coupling joint X. The conversion is done in such a way that

can be installed again.
It should also be noted that the draw hook N can be connected to the pushed back central buffer coupling by the same locking elements that are used to fasten the central buffer couplings to one another.
