Device for actuating vox valves or other inlet or Állslassorganen a compressed air nook or the like.
It has already been proposed that the control elements of machines operated by means of compressed air or the like can be actuated by the driving medium itself or by any other pressure medium, which makes it possible to overcome the inertia of these elements more easily than by direct mechanical control.
Both when using the driving pressure medium of the machine and when using an auxiliary pressure medium, it is advisable to let this medium act as directly and as quickly as possible on the control element to be moved.
The invention makes it possible to obtain such a result by providing each control member with a differential piston on the smaller portion of which the pressure medium acts continuously, while the larger portion of this same piston, on which the pressure medium also acts continuously, for displacement of the control member in one of the directions can be temporarily connected to a means of reduced pressure.
The larger area of the differential piston is therefore constantly under the action of the pressure medium.
At times it works there at full pressure, at times, however, it flows through the relevant chamber at reduced pressure.

very low resistance, which are used alternately to open or close the connection of the larger section of the differential piston with the means of lower pressure.
The effect of the pressure medium on the piston is instantaneous, which means that the control element (distributor element) of the engine operates quickly and reliably.
An embodiment of the invention is shown as an example in the drawing.
Fig. 1 is a longitudinal section showing the control of an exhaust valve. Fig. 2 is a longitudinal section showing the control of an intake valve.
In the figures, A denotes a cylinder of an engine which is driven, for example, by compressed air. B is an exhaust valve and C is a compressed air intake valve.
In Fig. 1, D denotes an outlet valve which is connected to a differential piston E, F movable in the chamber G, which chamber communicates through the lines g and gl with a channel h which itself is connected through a line H to a pressure medium source is connected, which in this example may be an air tank, u. zw. possibly the same as that connected to line C (FIG. 2). The differential piston is, as can be seen, partly by the annular part / ', partly by its upper part, i.e. H. the large section e, permanently connected to the pressure medium source. The outlet valve D is therefore constantly striving to assume the position shown in the figures, due to the simple action of the pressure medium on the differential piston.
The chamber G can be brought into connection with a chamber I by means of a valve, which chamber is connected to a medium of lower pressure, which valve can be referred to as a vacuum valve "and that in which
EMI1.2
Approach j includes, on which a thumb disk K can act.
By allowing the thumb disk K to act on the negative pressure valve J at the appropriate moment, the chamber G is brought into connection with the chamber I, which, because of the permanent

Connection of the differential piston to the pressure medium source as a result of the action of the pressure medium on the annular surface 'instantly determines the lifting of the piston and consequently the closing of the valve D is caused.
As soon as the connection between G and I is interrupted. d. H. at this moment. in which the

The inlet valve shown as an example in FIG. 2 comprises a valve body L and an auxiliary valve Lo connected to a differential piston M \ 37 M. The valve body L is open

with a pipe H in connection, which is connected to the pressure medium container. In chamber G is. as with the exhaust valve. a negative pressure valve J is arranged, which allows communication of said chamber ss with a chamber of reduced pressure. Said negative pressure valve is controlled by a thumb disk i, which can be adjusted according to the thumb disk A *, which actuates the negative pressure valve connected to the outlet valve.
In the normal state the organs take. while the valve J is closed, the position shown in the figure. The valve L is supported by the action of the pressure medium entering through the slot L on its seat. and the auxiliary valve Lo is supported on its seat by the action of the pressure medium exerted on the large section m3 of the differential piston.
When the negative pressure valve J is lowered by the action of the thumb disk K, whereby a connection between G and J is established, the pressure medium lifts by the action on the circumferential part m of the differential piston connected to the guide and the auxiliary valve L0 connected to it . Chamber 0, which is limited by valve L, is
EMI2.3
called, and the pressure medium acting on the part L3 of the valve L running around the ring raises the same. As a result, the pressure medium is let into the cylinder.
When the thumb disk K ceases to act on the negative pressure valve J, the connection between G and I is closed: the pressure medium acts on the large section m3 of the differential piston, lowers the auxiliary valve Lo and, through its intermediary, takes valve L with it to bring about the closed position .
As can be seen, the pressure medium is always ready without the interposition of any mechanical organ to act at the desired moment on the differential piston which is connected to the outlet valve directly or to the inlet valve with the interposition of the auxiliary valve. There can be no delays due to the mediation of the acting force which determines the movements of the control organs. This is the great advantage of the new control arrangement described and illustrated, in which the control movements always take effect immediately. whereby the driving force does not have to be brought to the organ to be displaced through lines or slits which can open with more or less delay.
