Pneumatische Radlagerung.

<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

Pneumatic wheel bearings.
The invention relates to wheels of vehicles, bicycles, motorcycles, automobiles, etc. with a pneumatic ring inserted between the wheel hub and the wheel axle; it consists in particular in that the spoke rings are connected to one another by brackets, on the inner surface of which the supports for the pneumatic tires sit. According to the invention, the guide plates for the spoke rings are furthermore provided with outwardly directed face-shaped guide extensions, which still ensure adequate lateral guidance even in the most extreme positions of the spoke rings. A special embodiment of the invention also consists in the fact that the wheel rim is guided by an annular disk that is movable between two guide plates that are fixed on the wheel axle.
The latter measure ensures particularly good guidance in all positions of the wheel rim with respect to the hub and reliably prevents any lateral deviation.
In the drawing, the invention is shown, for example, u. Between Fig. 1 shows an axial section through the wheel of a bicycle, Fig. 3 shows the pneumatic tire in side view, Big. 2 the wheel in side view, FIG. 4 the wheel of an automobile in axial section, FIG. 5 a side view.
In the fork 1 of the bicycle, the wheel is mounted, which sits on the axle 2 and on which the fork is held by means of the screw nuts 3. Each nut 3 presses one of the two fork ends against the cone 4. The pneumatic tires are placed around the axis and consist of a jacket J and an air tube 6 in a known manner. A valve 7 is used to pump air into the air hose. Nose rings 8 are seated on the axis and engage in correspondingly annular projections of the jacket and hold it in place.
From the rims 9 covered with solid rubber or leather, the spokes 10 lead to spoke rings 11 which are connected to one another by several brackets 12. Screw bolts 13, which carry crescent-shaped sheet metal plates 14 at the inner end, which rest on the outside of the pneumatic jackets and transfer the rim pressure to the jacket, lead through the bracket 12. The spoke rings 11 are guided between two lateral plates 15 provided with star-shaped extensions, one of which is removable for the purpose of attaching the jacket and air hose. The star-shaped extensions of the plate 15 protrude so far outwards that they still ensure lateral guidance for the spoke rings even with the most extreme movements and displacements of the spoke rings 11 due to the suspension of the air jacket.
In addition, the plates 15 protect the spoke rings including the brackets from tipping over. Elevations 16 are provided on the circumference of the air jacket, the purpose of which is to prevent the jacket from sliding on the sheet metal plates surrounding it. The axle can be lubricated by means of the lubricator 17.
When the wheel circumference is loaded, one-sided pressure is exerted on the spokes and this

tires of the wheel circumference equals. The movable mounting of the spoke ring and the bracket 12 between the star plates M ensures safe guidance of the wheel in its plane of movement.
4 and 5 is the application of the invention to an automobile. wheel shown. The wheel shown is a so-called full wheel without spokes with a full hub disc. The solid rubber tire 18 sits on the 7vlindermantelfelligen wheel circumference M, which laterally merges into an annular disk 20 which lies in a plane perpendicular to the wheel axis. The ring disc plays between two guide plates 21 which are firmly seated on the wheel axle 22. From the wheel circumference 19 spoke-like carriers 23 lead inward
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
which are connected at the inner end by a ring plate 24. Instead of a continuous ring, it is sufficient if a ring element is provided on each strut 23.
The pneumatic tire 26 is seated between the ring plate 24 and a corresponding ring-shaped guide 25 of the wheel axle or the inner guide plate 21 fixed on it. A valve 27 is used to fill the air hose. The circumference of the jacket is roughened or provided with elevations or grooves so that it cannot slide on the ring 24. When driving, the wheel circumference deviates on one side and is guided in all directions by means of the ring plates 20 between the guide plates M in a plane perpendicular to the wheel axis. The impacts reaching the wheel circumference are transmitted to the pneumatic intermediate layer 26 by the struts 2J and destroyed.
An automobile wheel equipped with this pneumatic bearing is, in terms of its suspension, equivalent to automobile wheels with pneumatic ..: Shock absorption on the wheel circumference occurs.
