Die dem Plattenrand zunächst liegenden Aussparungen 4 dienen zur Anbringung der Mittel, z. B. eines Riemens 5, Ja zur Befestigung der Manschette 1 am Radreifen.
Dadurch, dass die Platte 1 sich von ihrer Mitte aus gegen die Enden bogenförmig verschmälert und durch die Aussparungen 5 a, 5b wird das Gewicht der Platte 1 bedeutend herabgemindert, und ihre Herstellung im Vergleich zu den bekannten Schutzplatten dieser Art vereinfacht und verbilligt.
