Abstract
Se proporcionan métodos para aumentar el rendimiento de una planta monocotiledónea a través del tratamiento de la planta con un regulador de crecimiento de la planta. En ciertas formas de realización, las plantas de maíz producen múltiples mazorcas y un aumento del número de granos. En ciertas formas de realización, la reducción de la altura de la planta permite una autopolinización más eficiente. Reivindicación 1: Un método de tratar una planta monocotiledónea con un inhibidor de ácido giberélico (inhibidor de GA), el método que comprende administrar el inhibidor de GA a la planta mediante el contacto de la planta con el inhibidor de GA antes de la formación de una estructura reproductora visible, donde el tratamiento aumenta el rendimiento de semilla de la planta monocotiledónea. Reivindicación 18: El método de cualquiera de las reivindicaciones 1 a 17, donde el inhibidor de GA es un triazol. Reivindicación 19: El método de la reivindicación 18, donde el triazol se selecciona del grupo que consiste en paclobutrazol, uniconazol, y flurprimidol.
