Una composicion biocidas que comprende: un agente biocida; un compuesto primario de amino alcohol de la formula (1) en donde R1 y R3 son cada independientemente H, alquilo lineal o ramificado, alquenilo, alquinilo, cicloalquilo o arilo, o R1, R3 y el carbono al que están unidos forman un anillo de cicloalquilo, R2 y R4 son cada independientemente H o alquilo, con tal que R2 y r4 contengan juntos 2 o menos átomos de carbono; y R5 está ausente o es C1-C10 alquileno, arileno, -arileno-alquileno- , o alquileno-arileno-; en donde alquilo, cicloalquilo, alquileno, arilo y arileno están sustituidos opcionalmente con alquilo o fenilo, y en donde el compuesto de la formula (1) contiene por lo menos 6 átomos de carbono. Reivindicacion 4: La composicion de las reivindicaciones 1-3 en donde el agente biocida está basado en formaldehído o está basado en no - formaldehído. Reivindicacion 12: La composicion de las reivindicaciones 1 a 11 en donde el amino alcohol es 3-amino- octanol. Reivindicacion 15: Un concentrado de fluido de metalistería que comprende una composicion biocida segun cualquiera de las reivindicaciones 1 a 12. Reivindicacion 21: Un compuesto escogido del grupo que consiste en 2-amino-4-etil- octanol. Reivindicacion 21 Un compuesto escogido del grupo que consiste en 2-amino-4-etil-3-octanol, 2-amino-2-metil-3-heptanol, y las sales de los mismos.
