Abstract

Se refiere a mezclas de una resina de oxido de polietileno (PEO) y de una emulsion de látex. Las mezclas tienen una procesabilidad y flexibilidad mejoradasque son benéficas en la fabricacion de fibras y películas a base de oxido de polietileno. Estaspelículas,compuestas de la mezcla de látex/oxido de polietilenotienen una flexibilidad,capacidad para respirar y resistencia al rasgado mejorada. Son utiles para la fabricacion de productos descartables para la higienepersonal y de uso médico descartables con descarga de agua, tal como panales, tampones, toallas femeninas y almohadillas para control de la vegiga. Las mezclasde la presente estánformadas por la mezcla o recubrimiento de la resina de polvo de oxido de polietileno con una emulsionde látex y la mezcla con fusion delpolvo. Las mezclas pueden luego formar películas al suministrar pelotitas a la mezcla dentro de un extrusor que contiene una matriz de ranura. Las pelotitasson calentadas y extruidas a una temperatura de entre aproximadamente 80sC y 150sC para formar una película que es recolectada sobre un rodillo de enrolladoenfriado.
