Definitions
- the invention relates to a closure cap for closing a container according to the preamble of claim 1, a container with such a closure cap according to the preamble of claim 17, and an injection molding method for producing a closure cap according to the preamble of claim 19.
- closure caps are known which are held captive on the container and close its pouring opening.
- the holding function is also important because statutory provisions are to be expected which oblige the closures of beverage bottles to be permanently connected to the beverage bottle even when they are open.
- the invention is characterized in that the retaining strap has, in addition to the first and second end, an expansion section which is arranged between the first and the second end and that at least the expansion section consists of an expandable material and the expansion section consists of a first length, which it has when the cap is originally closed, can be expanded to a second length, which second length allows the threaded part to be unscrewed from the neck of the container.
- the provision of the expansion section enables the second retaining strap to be used flexibly and to be suitable for many different container necks.
- the expansion section can also be used after the threaded part has been unscrewed so that the user holds the threaded part in a position in which the pouring out of the container contents is not hindered.
- the retaining band is not formed from the guarantee ring, as is the case in the prior art. Therefore, the guarantee ring does not have to have an increased thickness in order to form the retaining band. This has the advantage that, compared to the prior art, plastic material can be saved on the guarantee ring.
- the first end is welded to the threaded part and the second end to the guarantee ring.
- the retaining band is held so firmly on the guarantee ring and the threaded part as if it were formed in one piece from the closure cap. Nevertheless, it has an improved elasticity, which the material of the threaded part and the guarantee ring cannot have.
- the retaining strap holds the threaded part reliably captive on the guarantee ring and thus on the container neck.
- the first length of the expansion section corresponds to the height of the Ga rantiestege.
- the retaining strap only has to be inserted into the injection mold and the stretching section automatically receives its length as a result of the shape of the injection mold, in that the stretching section is the section of the retaining strap which is neither in the threaded part nor in the guarantee ring.
- the first length of the expansion section is longer than the height of the guarantee bars. For example, the expansion section can be folded and thus have a certain required first length.
- the stretching section is at least partially overmolded with a first plastic from which the threaded part, the guarantee ring and the guarantee bars are made.
- the thickness of the first plastic, which surrounds the expansion section is dimensioned in such a way that the plastic separates from the expansion section when the expansion section is expanded.
- the injection mold can be dimensioned in such a way that the expansion section has a layer of first plastic.
- Such a shape is less complex to shape than if the expansion section had to be free of a plastic layer.
- the expansion function is not hindered.
- the provision of the plastic layer around the expansion section can also have optical advantages.
- the expansion section is expediently arranged within an interspace, which interspace is delimited by two adjacent guarantee webs, the open edge and the guarantee ring. There is no space between adjacent guarantee bars and so no space has to be created for the expansion section.
- the retaining band is arranged with respect to its longitudinal extension in the axial direction of the closure cap on the threaded part and the guarantee ring and the first end protrudes into the threaded part and the second end protrudes into the guarantee ring.
- the retaining strap which can be welded to the threaded part or to the guarantee ring.
- the expansion section, the first end and the second end are made in one piece from a second elastic plastic, preferably in the form of a film strip, the second plastic being weldable to the first plastic.
- the second plastic is elastic, it reverses the stretch section back from the second length to the first length.
- the second plastic is overstretched when it is transferred into the second length and remains in this length. It is preferred if the second plastic can be recycled or reused together with the first plastic. This is important because when reusing the plastic cap, the retaining strap does not have to be separated from it.
- only the expansion section is made from the second plastic and the second and third ends are made from a third plastic. In this case, the third plastic must be weldable to the first plastic and weldable or glued to the second plastic.
- the second plastic has a modulus of elasticity which is between 100 N / mm 2 and 1300 N / mm 2 and is preferably between 200 N / mm 2 and 500 N / mm 2 .
- the stretching section remains below the yield point and can therefore return to the first length after unscrewing the threaded part. If an overstretching of the expansion section is desired, a second plastic with a higher modulus of elasticity can also be selected.
- the first end is overmolded with the first plastic of the threaded part and the second end is overmolded with the first plastic of the guarantee ring, whereby the first and second ends are welded to the plastic of the threaded part or the guarantee ring.
- This process in which a separate component is encapsulated in an injection mold by a plastic and welded ver at the contact points with the plastic melt, is known as in-mold labeling, since a plastic label inserted into the injection mold is usually welded to a container surface. The welding enables a particularly secure connection between the retaining strap and the threaded part or the guarantee ring.
- the position of the guarantee tape is variable relative to the annular projection of the container neck in the axial direction and in the circumferential direction. Because the tamper-evident band can be moved upward in the axial direction, it is pulled upwards when the threaded part is unscrewed until it strikes the annular projection of the container neck. The result is the container neck height, which must be overcome when unscrewing, reduced or the second length of the expansion section is less. Because the Ga rantieband is rotatable in the circumferential direction, only a force is exerted on the retaining strap in the axial direction and not in the circumferential direction. Therefore, the Dehnab section is only loaded in its longitudinal extension.
- an inwardly projecting inner cone e.g. in the form of a sealing cylinder or a sealing ring, which is designed to cooperate in a sealing manner with the inner wall of the container neck in the closed position.
- the closure cap can therefore act as a so-called “cone sealer” and reliably seals the bottle neck.
- the retaining strap has a length between mm and mm and preferably a length between 4 mm and 5 mm and a width between 3 mm and 7 mm and preferably a width between 4 mm and 5 mm. This dimensioning of length and width, in addition to the selected modulus of elasticity, ensures that the expansion section does not tear off unintentionally and can expand sufficiently.
- the second plastic is a biaxially stretched polypropylene (PP). This can be stretched well and can be welded with the usual first plastics, which are used to manufacture plastic caps with a guarantee ring.
- PP polypropylene
- the invention is also characterized in that the closure cap is designed to interact with a standardized container neck with an external thread and an annular projection.
- the closure cap can therefore be placed on standardized container necks, in particular on PET beverage bottles.
- Containers which are assembled with the closure cap according to the invention therefore do not have to be specially adapted to the closure cap.
- the closure cap is expediently made of a plastic material, preferably HDPE (high density polyethylene) or PP (polypropylene).
- the closure cap can therefore be made with standard plastic materials, from which known closure caps with a guarantee ring are also made.
- the threaded part, the inner cone, the guarantee band and the retaining band are made in one piece.
- the closure cap can be manufactured in an injection mold into which the retaining strap is inserted, without further processing steps being necessary to connect the retaining strap to the threaded part or the guarantee ring.
- a further aspect of the invention relates to a container having a container body, a container neck adjoining the container body, an external thread formed on the container neck and a closure cap according to the description above.
- the second length of the expansion section essentially corresponds to the height of the container neck between the guarantee ring and the pouring opening.
- the threaded part can be unscrewed without being hindered by the expansion section.
- the second length can also be shorter by the distance between the guarantee ring and the pouring opening, which results from the axial displacement of the guarantee ring when the threaded part is unscrewed.
- Another aspect of the invention relates to an injection molding method for producing a closure cap for closing the pouring opening of a container according to the above description, the melt of a first plastic being injected into an injection mold and the closure cap being removed from the injection mold after cooling.
- the invention is characterized in that the retaining strap previously made of a second plastic is inserted into the empty injection mold at a defined position and that the first end is overmolded by the threaded part and the second end is overmolded by the guarantee ring, the first and weld the second end to the introduced melt of the first plastic.
- An expansion section of the retaining band which is arranged between the first and the second end, is advantageously formed within an intermediate space, the intermediate space being limited by two adjacent guarantee webs, the open edge and the guarantee ring.
- the stretching section is therefore the free area of the retaining strap, which protrudes neither into the threaded part nor into the guarantee ring.
- the expansion section is expediently encapsulated with the first plastic in a certain thickness at least partially, since this represents less effort in shaping the injection mold than if the expansion section were free of the first plastic.
- overmoulding around the expansion section also has an optical advantage, since the closure cap has a uniform appearance.
- FIG. 1 an isometric view of a closure cap with a stretchable retaining strap
- FIG. 2 a sectional view through the closure cap in the axial direction in the area of the retaining strap
- FIG. 3 a side view of the closure cap from FIG. 2 in which the
- Retaining strap is shown stretched.
- FIGS. 1 to 3 a closure cap is shown which is designated as a whole with the reference numeral 11.
- the closure cap 11 is held captive on a container 13, in particular on a bottle 13.
- the closure cap 11 comprises a cylindrical threaded part 15, a guarantee ring 17 and a retaining strap 19.
- the threaded part 15 comprises a base 21 and a first cylindrical jacket 23 with an open edge 25.
- An internal thread 27 is formed on the inside of the jacket 23.
- the container 13 comprises a container body 28 and a container neck 29 adjoining the Benzol terkbody 28.
- the container neck 29 is designed as a second cylindrical jacket.
- An external thread 31 is formed on the container neck 29, which cooperates with the internal thread 27.
- the closing cap 11 closes the pouring opening 33, which is provided within the container neck 29.
- the guarantee strip 17 is held in a form-fitting manner on the container neck 13.
- annular first projection 35 is formed on the outside of the container neck 29, which second projections 37, formed on the inside of the tamper-evident band 17, can engage under, as shown in FIG.
- the guarantee strip 17 can be rotated relative to the container neck 29.
- the threaded part 15, the guarantee ring 17 and the guarantee tiestege 39 are preferably made in one piece from a first plastic, for example PP or HDPE.
- the retaining strap 19 has a first end 41 and a second end 43.
- the first end 41 is firmly connected to the threaded part 15.
- the second end 43 is firmly connected to the guarantee tiering 17.
- the closure cap 11 is held captive on the container 13.
- the retaining strap 19 is arranged in the axial direction of the closure cap 11 on the threaded part 15 and the guarantee ring 17.
- the first end 41 protrudes into the threaded part 15 and the second end 43 protrudes into the guarantee ring 17.
- the first end 41 is encapsulated with the first plastic of the threaded part 15 and the second end 43 is encapsulated with the first plastic of the guarantee ring 17.
- the first and second ends 41, 43 can be welded to the first plastic of the threaded part 15 or the guarantee ring 17.
- a stretching section 45 is provided on the retaining strap 19. At least the stretching section 45 and preferably the stretching section 45, the first end 41 and the second end 43 are made of a stretchable material.
- the stretchable material is preferably a second plastic from which the first and second ends 41, 43 and the stretching section 45 are made in one piece.
- the second plastic can be an elastic plastic, for example a biaxially stretched polypropylene.
- the retaining band 19 preferably has the shape of a film strip.
- the retaining strap 19 is arranged between two adjacent Ga rantiestegen 39.
- the expansion section 45, which between the first and the second end 41, 43 is arranged, is gebil det within a space 46, the space 46 being limited by two adjacent guarantee webs 39, the open edge 25 and the guarantee ring 17.
- the expansion portion 45 can be expanded from a first length, which it has when the closure cap 11 is originally closed, to a second length.
- the second length enables the threaded part 15 to be unscrewed from the container neck 29.
- the length of the expansion section 45 preferably corresponds to the height of the guarantee webs 39. In Ligures 1 and 2, the first length of the expansion section 45 is shown when the closure cap 11 is originally closed. In Ligur 2, the second extended length of the expansion section 45 is shown after the threaded part 15 has been unscrewed from the container neck 29.
- the expansion section 45 takes up the first length again after the threaded part 15 has been unscrewed. It is also conceivable that the expansion section is stretched beyond its yield point when unscrewing and does not return to its original length after unscrewing. Due to the expandability of the expansion section 45, the open edge 25 can be pulled over a support ring 47 which is formed at the transition from the container neck 29 and the container body 28. As a result, the user of the container 13 can move the threaded part 15 into a position in which the threaded part does not get in the way of the container contents when pouring out.
- the Dehnab section preferably has a length between 2 mm and 4 mm.
- the width of the retaining strap is between 2 mm and 5 mm and preferably between 3 mm and 4 mm.
- the expansion section 45 can be at least partially encapsulated with the first plastic. This makes the production of the closure cap 11 easier. It is sensible to measure the thickness of the first plastic which surrounds the expansion section in such a way that the plastic separates from the expansion section when the expansion section is expanded. As a result, the first plastic does not prevent the stretching section 45 from stretching.
- the position of the guarantee ring 17 is relative to the annular projection 35 of the Benzol terhalses 29 in the axial direction and in the circumferential direction changeable. As a result, when the threaded part is unscrewed, the expansion section only experiences a force in the axial direction.
- the second length of the expansion section 45 can be less than the height of the container neck 29.
- the effective height of the container neck is the distance between the guarantee ring 17 and the pouring opening 33.
- an inwardly projecting inner cone 49 e.g. in the form of a sealing cylinder or a sealing ring.
- the inner cone 49 cooperates in a sealing manner with the inner wall 51 of the container neck 29 in the closed position.
- the closure cap 11 is produced by inserting the retaining strap 19, previously made from a second plastic, into the empty injection mold at a defined position. Then the first end 41 is overmolded by the threaded part 15 and the second end 43 is overmolded by the guarantee ring 17. The first and second ends 41, 43 are welded to the introduced melt of the first plastic. This process is known as "in-mold labeling", in which a label inserted into the injection mold is welded to the injection-molded container. The welding of the first and second ends 41, 43 enables a firm connection that can only be detached by destroying it .
