例えば、特許文献1に、組成としてCaOおよび/またはCa(OH)2を含む固体粒子の集合体に、CO2を含む排ガスを接触させて、排ガス中のCO2を固体粒子にCaCO3として固定することにより、排ガス中のCO2濃度を低減させることを特徴とする排出炭酸ガスの削減方法が、記載されている。該方法によれば、工業プロセス等で発生した排ガス中のCO2を効率的に吸収・除去して、CO2の大気中への排出量を削減することができる。
[1] セメント質硬化体に、350℃以上の温度を有する二酸化炭素含有ガスを接触させて、上記二酸化炭素含有ガスに含まれている二酸化炭素を、上記セメント質硬化体に固定化する接触工程を含むことを特徴とする二酸化炭素の固定化方法。
[2] 上記接触工程の前、及び、上記接触工程において、上記二酸化炭素含有ガスに水分を供給しない、上記[1]に記載の二酸化炭素の固定化方法。
[3] 上記二酸化炭素含有ガスは、炭酸ガスの割合が、体積分率の値として、5%以上のものである、上記[1]または[2]に記載の二酸化炭素の固定化方法。
[4] 上記二酸化炭素含有ガスが、工場の排ガスである、上記[1]~[3]のいずれかに記載の二酸化炭素の固定化処理方法。
[5] 上記セメント質硬化体が、再生骨材、コンクリートもしくはモルタルからなる建材の廃材、セメントペースト硬化体の廃材、または、レディーミクストコンクリートで発生するスラッジである、上記[1]~[4]のいずれかに記載の二酸化炭素の固定化方法。
また、本発明の方法によれば、セメント質硬化体との接触前または接触中に、二酸化炭素含有ガスに水分を供給して、二酸化炭素含有ガス中の水分量を増大させ、二酸化炭素の固定化を促進させるという操作を行わなくても、セメント質硬化体に二酸化炭素を効率的に十分な量で固定化することができるので、二酸化炭素含有ガスに水分を供給するための手段を設ける必要がなく、低コストで本発明の方法を実施することができる。
本明細書中、セメント質硬化体は、セメント及び水を含む組成物が硬化してなるものを意味し、具体的には、コンクリートからなる硬化体、モルタルからなる硬化体、及び、セメントペーストからなる硬化体のいずれかを意味する。
また、本明細書中、「セメント質硬化体」の語は、完全に硬化した硬化体の他、半硬化の硬化体(換言すると、硬化が進行中のもの)を包含するものとする。
セメント質硬化体としては、廃棄物の利用促進の観点から、再生使用されるセメント硬化体が好ましく用いられる。
再生使用されるセメント質硬化体の例としては、再生骨材や、コンクリートもしくはモルタルからなる建材の廃材や、セメントペースト硬化体の廃材や、レディーミクストコンクリートで発生するスラッジ(完全に硬化したもの、または、脱水処理後の半硬化状態のスラッジ)等が挙げられる。
セメント質硬化体は、二酸化炭素含有ガスとの接触面積を大きくして、固定化される二酸化炭素の量を増大させるために、好ましくは、粒状物の形態を有するものである。
該粒状物の寸法は、好ましくは50mm以下、より好ましくは40mm以下、さらに好ましくは30mm以下、さらに好ましくは20mm以下、特に好ましくは10mm以下である。ここで、粒状物の寸法とは、その粒状物の最大寸法(例えば、断面が楕円の形状である場合、長軸の寸法)をいう。
二酸化炭素含有ガスの例としては、工場の排ガス等が挙げられる。
工場の排ガスとしては、セメント工場の排ガスや、石炭火力発電所の排ガスや、塗装工場における排気処理で発生する排ガス等が挙げられる。
また、工場の排ガスとしては、工場の排ガスから分離及び回収してなる高純度化したガスを用いることもできる。
二酸化炭素含有ガス中の炭酸ガスの割合は、体積分率の値として、好ましくは5%以上、より好ましくは6%以上、特に好ましくは7%以上である。該割合が5%以上であると、固定化される二酸化炭素の量が大きくなり、大気中への二酸化炭素の排出量の削減の効果が大きくなることから、好ましい。
該水分量は、二酸化炭素含有ガス中の水蒸気の割合であり、体積分率(単位:%)を意味する。
上記温度は、二酸化炭素の固定化の促進の観点からは、好ましくは400℃以上、より好ましくは450℃以上、特に好ましくは500℃以上である。
上記温度は、非常に高温の二酸化炭素含有ガスの入手の困難性の観点からは、好ましくは1,500℃以下、より好ましくは1,200℃以下、特に好ましくは900℃以下である。
不活性ガスの例としては、窒素ガス、アルゴンガス等が挙げられる。
二酸化炭素含有ガス中の不活性ガスの割合は、体積分率の値として、好ましくは5%以上、より好ましくは10%以上、さらに好ましくは15%以上、特に好ましくは20%以上である。該割合が5%以上であると、このような二酸化炭素含有ガスの入手が容易であることなどから、好ましい。
二酸化炭素含有ガス中の他の成分の割合は、体積分率の値として、好ましくは30%以下、より好ましくは20%以下、さらに好ましくは10%以下、特に好ましくは5%以下である。該割合が30%以下であると、このような二酸化炭素含有ガスの入手が容易であることなどから、好ましい。
(1)セメント質硬化体からなる供試体の作製
早強ポルトランドセメント100質量部と、水70質量部を混合して、セメントペーストを得た後、このセメントペーストを型枠内に充填して、50日間、水で満たした密封容器内で養生して、供試体であるセメントペースト硬化体(寸法:10mm×10mm×2mm)を作製した。
作製した供試体(セメントペースト硬化体)を、管状電気炉(品番:KTF433、製造元:光洋サーモシステム社)内のアルミナボート上に載置した。次いで、表1に記載された組成を有する二酸化炭素含有ガスを、管状電気炉内に供給し、500℃の温度雰囲気下で60分間、供試体を二酸化炭素含有ガスと接触させて加熱処理した。
なお、実施例1~2及び比較例1における二酸化炭素含有ガスとしては、水分を供給していないものを用いた。管状電気炉にも、水分を供給するための手段は、設けなかった。
また、表1中、「二酸化炭素含有ガスの組成(%)」の欄中の値は、体積分率(%)を表す。「水蒸気」の値は、「JIS Z 8808:2013 排ガス中のダスト濃度の測定方法」の「7 排ガス中の水分量の測定」に記載された方法で測定した水分量(%)を表す。
前記(2)の加熱処理後の供試体(セメントペースト硬化体)について、示差熱・熱重量同時測定装置(TG-DTA)を用いて、480℃から800℃までの質量の減少から、炭酸カルシウムの割合(単位:質量%)を求めた。
ここで、炭酸カルシウムの割合(単位:質量%)は、TG-DTAによる測定後(1000℃に達するまで加熱して測定)の供試体の質量に対する炭酸カルシウムの質量比(換言すると、[炭酸カルシウムの質量]×100/[供試体の質量」;単位:%)を意味する。
なお、TG-DTAにおける480℃から800℃までの質量の減少は、供試体(セメントペースト硬化体)に含まれている炭酸カルシウムが脱炭酸したこと(換言すると、CaCO3がCaOに変化したこと)を示す。つまり、該質量の減少の程度(CO2量)に基いて、脱炭酸前の炭酸カルシウム(CaCO3)の量を算出することができる。
ここで、炭酸カルシウムの理論質量比は、以下の式で表される。
炭酸カルシウムの理論質量比(%)=「未水和セメント中の主要鉱物(エーライト、ビーライト、C3A、C4AF)が完全に炭酸化された場合における炭酸カルシウムの質量」×100÷「未水和セメントの質量」
なお、C3Aは、アルミネート相(3CaO・Al2O3)を意味し、C4AFは、フェライト相(4CaO・Al2O3・Fe2O3)を意味する。
したがって、炭酸化率(%)は、以下の式によって算出することができる。
炭酸化率(%)=「TG-DTAによる測定後(1000℃に達するまで加熱して測定)の供試体の質量に対する炭酸カルシウムの質量比(%)」×100÷「炭酸カルシウムの理論質量比(113%)」
この式を用いて算出した炭酸化率を、表1に示す。
管状電気炉内の温度、及び、二酸化炭素含有ガスの組成を、表1に記載されているとおりに変更した以外は実施例1と同様にして、実験を行った。
なお、実施例3~4において、二酸化炭素含有ガスとしては、水分を供給して、表1に記載のとおりに水分量(表1中の「水蒸気」参照)を増大させたものを用いた。
以上の結果を表1に示す。
特に、実施例1~2では、二酸化炭素含有ガスとして、水分を供給しないもの(換言すると、水分供給手段を用いて水分量を増大させるという操作を行わなかったもの)を用いているにもかかわらず、実施例3~4(水分を供給して水分量を増大させた二酸化炭素含有ガスを用いた実験例)に比べて同程度の炭酸化率を得ていることがわかる。
Claims (5)
- セメント質硬化体に、350℃以上の温度を有する二酸化炭素含有ガスを接触させて、上記二酸化炭素含有ガスに含まれている二酸化炭素を、上記セメント質硬化体に固定化する接触工程を含むことを特徴とする二酸化炭素の固定化方法。
- 上記接触工程の前、及び、上記接触工程中に、上記二酸化炭素含有ガスに水分を供給しない請求項1に記載の二酸化炭素の固定化方法。
- 上記二酸化炭素含有ガスは、炭酸ガスの割合が、体積分率の値として、5%以上のものである請求項1又は2に記載の二酸化炭素の固定化方法。
- 上記二酸化炭素含有ガスが、工場の排ガスである請求項1~3のいずれか1項に記載の二酸化炭素の固定化方法。
- 上記セメント質硬化体が、再生骨材、コンクリートもしくはモルタルからなる建材の廃材、セメントペースト硬化体の廃材、または、レディーミクストコンクリートで発生するスラッジである請求項1~4のいずれか1項に記載の二酸化炭素の固定化方法。
