下記式(A)で表される繰り返し単位と末端ヒドロキシル基とを有するポリカーボネートジオールを含み、下記式(A)で表される繰り返し単位が、下記式(B)の繰り返し単位を含み、下記式(A)で表される繰り返し単位全体における下記式(B)で表される繰り返し単位の割合が、84.0質量%以上99.4質量%以下であり、前記ポリカーボネートジオールの数平均分子量が300以上20,000以下であり、前記ポリカーボネートジオールの1級末端OH基比率が95%以上である、ポリカーボネートジオール組成物。
下記式(A)で表される繰り返し単位と末端ヒドロキシル基とを有するポリカーボネートジオールを含み、下記式(A)で表される繰り返し単位が、下記式(B)の繰り返し単位を含み、下記式(A)で表される繰り返し単位全体における下記式(B)で表される繰り返し単位の割合が、84.0質量%以上99.4質量%以下であり、前記ポリカーボネートジオールの数平均分子量が300以上20,000以下であり、下記式(A)で表される繰り返し単位全体における下記式(C)で表される繰り返し単位の割合が、1.0質量%以下であるポリカーボネートジオール組成物。

(1)~(4)のいずれか1項に記載のポリカーボネートジオール組成物の製造方法であって、ポリカーボネートジオール全体に対する1,3-ジオキサン-2-オンの含有量を調整する工程を含む、ポリカーボネートジオール組成物の製造方法。
本実施形態のポリカーボネートジオール組成物は、下記式(A)で表される繰り返し単位(以下、「繰り返し単位(A)」ともいう。)と末端ヒドロキシル基とを有するポリカーボネートジオールを含む。繰り返し単位(A)は、下記式(B)で表される繰り返し単位(以下、「繰り返し単位(B)」ともいう。)を含む。繰り返し単位(A)全体における繰り返し単位(B)の割合(以下、「単位(B)の割合」ともいう。)は、84.0質量%以上99.4質量%以下である。ポリカーボネートジオールの数平均分子量は、300以上20,000以下である。また、ポリカーボネートジオールは、下記条件(X1)及び/又は(X2)を満たす。
条件(X1):ポリカーボネートジオールの1級末端OH基比率が95%以上である。
条件(X2):下記式(A)で表される繰り返し単位全体における下記式(C)で表される繰り返し単位(「以下、「繰り返し単位(C)」ともいう。)の割合が、1.0質量%以下である。
A:ジオールを含むアルコール類のピーク面積の総和
B:両末端が1級OH基であるジオールのピーク面積の総和
次に本実施形態のポリカーボネートジオール組成物の製造方法について説明する。
(X-1)得られたポリカーボネートジオール組成物に1,3-ジオキサン-2-オンを添加して、1,3-ジオキサン-2-オンの含有量を増加させる方法
(Y-1)得られたポリカーボネートジオール組成物を120~200℃で加熱撹拌することにより、1,3-ジオキサン-2-オンの含有量を減少させる方法
(Y-2)得られるポリカーボネートジオール組成物にジオール成分として用いたジオール化合物を添加して120~200℃で加熱撹拌することにより、1,3-ジオキサン-2-オンの含有量を減少させる方法
(Y-3)得られるポリカーボネートジオール組成物を蒸留し、1,3-ジオキサン-2-オンを抜き出し、1,3-ジオキサン-2-オンの含有量を減少させる方法
無水酢酸12.5gをピリジン50mlでメスアップしアセチル化試薬を調整した。100mlナスフラスコに、サンプルを2.5~5.0g精秤した。アセチル化試薬5mlとトルエン10mlをホールピペットで添加後、冷却管を取り付けて、100℃で1時間撹拌加熱した。蒸留水2.5mLをホールピペットで添加し、更に10分加熱撹拌した。2~3分冷却後、エタノールを12.5mL添加し、指示薬としてフェノールフタレインを2~3滴添加した後に、0.5mol/Lエタノール性水酸化カリウムで滴定した。アセチル化試薬5mL、トルエン10mL、及び蒸留水2.5mLを100mLナスフラスコに入れ、10分間加熱撹拌した後、同様に滴定を行った(空試験)。これらの結果をもとに、下記式(2)で表される式により、OH価を求めた。

各実施例及び比較例で得られたポリカーボネートジオール組成物におけるポリカーボネートジオールの末端は、13C-NMR(270MHz)の測定により、実質的に全てがヒドロキシル基であった。更に各ポリマー中の酸価をKOHによる滴定により測定したところ、酸化は、0.01以下であった。次に、下記式(3)で表される式により各ポリマーの数平均分子量を求めた。
数平均分子量=2/(OH価×10-3/56.11) (3)
各実施例及び比較例で得られたポリカーボネートジオール組成物におけるポリカーボネートジオールの共重合モル比を以下のようにして求めた。100mlのナスフラスコに各実施例及び比較例で得られたポリカーボネートジオール(サンプル)1g、エタノール30g、水酸化カリウム4gを添加して、100℃で1時間反応した。室温まで冷却後、指示薬にフェノールフタレインを2~3滴添加し、塩酸で中和した。冷蔵庫で1時間冷却後、沈殿した塩を濾過で除去し、ガスクロマトグラフィーにより分析を行った。この分析は、カラムとしてDB-WAX(J&W会社製品)をつけたガスクロマトグラフィーGC-14B(島津製作所株式会社製品)を用いて、ジエチレングリコールジエチルエステルを内標とし、検出器をFIDとして行った。なお、カラムの昇温プロファイルは、60℃で5分保持した後、10℃/minで250℃まで昇温した。得られた面積値から、1,3-プロパンジオール及び式(D):HO-R1-OH(式中、R1は、炭素数4~20の二価の炭化水素基を表す。)で表されるジオール化合物(以下、「ジオール化合物(D)」ともいう。)の合計に対する1,3-プロパンジオールのモル比Aと、1,3-プロパンジオール及びジオール化合物(D)の合計に対するジオール化合物のモル比Bを求めた。モル比Aを、繰り返し単位(A)に対する繰り返し単位(B)の共重合モル比とし、モル比Bを、繰り返し単位(A)に対する下記式(E)で表される繰り返し単位(以下、「繰り返し単位(E)」ともいう。)の共重合モル比とした。
上記の方法により得られた繰り返し単位(B)の共重合モル比及び繰り返し単位(E)の共重合モル比を用いて、下記式(4)で表される式により、繰り返し単位(B)の含有量(割合)を求めた。

X:繰り返し単位(B)の共重合モル比×繰り返し単位(B)の分子量
Y:繰り返し単位(E)の共重合モル比×繰り返し単位(E)の分子量の合計
BrukerBiospin社製 Avance600(商品名)を用いて、1H-NMRの測定により、繰り返し単位(A)に対する1,3-ジオキサン-2-オンの含有量(モル比)を求めた。具体的な測定条件は以下の通りである。
観測核(周波数):1H(600MHz)
濃度:3%CDCl3
シフト基準:TMS(0ppm)
積算回数:512回
1,3-ジオキサン-2-オン:4.45ppm付近の積分値÷4
(式(I)中、R2は、メチレン基、メチルメチレン基を除く炭素数2~18の二価の炭化水素を表す)
IV:末端ジオール:3.60~3.75ppm付近(OHに隣接するメチレン基のピーク)の積分値÷2
各実施例及び比較例で得られたポリカーボネートジオール組成物におけるポリカーボネートジオールの1級末端OH比率は、各実施例及び比較例で得られたポリカーボネートジオール(10g~40g)を0.4kPa以下の圧力下、攪拌しながら160℃~200℃の温度で加熱することにより、ポリカーボネートジオールの0.5~2質量%に相当する量の留分を得て、これを10~40gのアセトンを溶剤として用いて回収し、回収した溶液をガスクロマトグラフィー(GC)分析にかけて得られるクロマトグラムのピーク面積の値から、下記式(1)により計算した。
A:ジオールを含むアルコール類のピーク面積の総和
B:両末端が1級OH基であるジオールのピーク面積の総和
20gのサンプル瓶に3gの各実施例及び比較例で得られたポリカーボネートジオールと7gの酢酸ブチルとを添加し、固形分30%の溶液とした際の外観を観察し、下記の評価基準に従い、相溶性の評価を行った。
○:加熱撹拌することで速やかに相溶した
×:相溶性が悪く溶液が白濁または分離した
後述する方法により得られた0.04~0.06mmの厚さを有するポリウレタンフィルムを形成し、このフィルムに日焼け止め(Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 30)を4平方センチメートルあたり2g乗せて80℃にて4時間加熱した。その後、中性石鹸で日焼け止めを洗い流した時の外観変化を観察し、下記の評価基準に従い、耐日焼け止め性の評価を行った。
○:塗膜外観に少し変化が見られた
△:塗膜外観が変化するが実用性に問題なかった
×:塗膜が破壊され実用性に堪えなかった
後述する方法により得られた0.04~0.06mmの厚さを有するポリウレタンフィルムに、750gの荷重をかけたまま真鍮ブラシで200回こすった際の外観変化を観察し、下記評価基準に従い、耐擦り傷性を評価した。
○:塗膜に目を凝らせば擦り傷が見られた
△:塗膜外観が変化するが実用性に問題なかった
×:塗膜が傷つき実用性に堪えなかった
ガラス板上に厚さ0.04~0.06mmのポリウレタンフィルムを形成し光沢度を測定した。750gの荷重をかけたまま真鍮ブラシで500回こすった後、1週間23℃湿度50%で静置した後に光沢度を測定し、下記の評価基準に従い、傷回復性の評価を行った。
○:評価前の光沢度の80%以上まで回復
△:評価前の光沢度の70%以上まで回復
×:評価前の光沢度の70%に満たない
攪拌機、温度計、頭頂に還流ヘッドを有する真空ジャケット付きオルダーショウを備えた1Lセパラブルフラスコに、1,3-プロパンジオール371g、1,6-ヘキサンジオール1g、及びエチレンカーボネート430gを仕込み、触媒としてテトラブドキシチタンを0.08g入れた。190℃に設定したオイルバスで加熱し、フラスコの内温160~170℃、真空度13~5kPaで、還流ヘッドから留分の一部を抜きながら、12hr反応した。その後、180℃に設定したオイルバスで加熱し、フラスコの内温を155~175℃とし、真空度を0.5kPaまで低くして、セパラブルフラスコ内に残留した1,3-プロパンジオール、1,6-ヘキサンジオール、及びエチレンカーボネートを除去した。この反応により、常温で粘稠な液体の形態を有するポリカーボネートジオール組成物が得られた。
表1に記載の原料の種類及び仕込み量を変更したこと以外は、実施例1と同様にして、常温で粘稠な液体の形態を有するポリカーボネートジオール組成物が得られた。
攪拌機と、温度計と、頭頂に還流ヘッドを有する真空ジャケット付きオルダーショウとを備えた1Lセパラブルフラスコ(フラスコ)に、1,3-プロパンジオール346g、1,6-ヘキサンジオール40g、及びジメチルカーボネート507gを仕込んだ。窒素雰囲気化において、フラスコの内温を180℃まで昇温してメタノールを流出させ、メタノールの流出がほぼなくなるまで反応させた。この後、徐々に100mmHgまで減圧し、攪拌下、メタノール及びジメチルカーボネートの混合物を留去しながら、200℃でエステル交換反応を行った。この反応により、常温で粘稠な液体の形態を有するポリカーボネートジオール組成物が得られた。
攪拌機と、温度計と、頭頂に還流ヘッドを有する真空ジャッケト付きオルダーショウとを備えた1Lセパラブルフラスコ(フラスコ)に、1,3-プロパンジオール371g、及びエチレンカーボネート430gを仕込み、触媒としてテトラブドキシチタンを0.08g仕込んだ。190℃に設定したオイルバスで加熱し、フラスコの内温160~170℃、真空度13~5kPaで、還流ヘッドから留分の一部を抜きながら、12時間反応した。その後、180℃に設定したオイルバスで加熱し、フラスコの内温を155~175℃とし、真空度を0.5kPaまで低くして、セパラブルフラスコ内に残留した1,3-プロパンジオール及びエチレンカーボネートを除去した。この反応により、常温で粘稠な液体の形態を有するポリカーボネートジオール組成物が得られた。
攪拌機、分溜管、温度計、窒素吹込み管及びマンホールを備えた反応容器を窒素ガスで置換した後、植物由来の1,3-プロパンジオール425部、1,4-ブタンジオール25部、1,5-ペンタンジオール25部、1,6-ヘキサンジオール25部、ジメチルカーボネート569部、及びテトラブトキシチタン0.1部を仕込み、窒素雰囲気化において、180℃まで昇温してメタノールを流出させ、メタノールの流出がほぼなくなるまで反応させた。この後、発生したメタノール及び過剰のジメチルカーボネートを減圧して除去した。この反応により、常温で粘稠な液体の形態を有するポリカーボネートジオール組成物が得られた。
表1に記載の原料の種類及び仕込み量を変更したこと以外は、比較例1と同様にして、常温で粘稠な液体の形態を有するポリカーボネートジオール組成物を得た。
規則充填物を充填した精留塔と攪拌装置とを備えた2Lのガラス製フラスコに1,3-プロパンジオール(1,3-PDO)760.9g(10mol)、1,4-シクロヘキサンジオール10.5g(0.09mol)、ジメチルカーボネート1053.9g(11.7mol)を仕込み、70℃で撹拌溶解したあと、触媒としてチタンテトラブトキシド0.10gを仕込んだ。常圧下140~150℃の温度で加熱・撹拌し、生成するメタノールとジメチルカーボネートの混合物を留去しながら、7時間反応させた。その後、反応温度を150℃~190℃、圧力を10~15kPaとして、生成するメタノールとジメチルカーボネートとの混合物を留去しながら3時間反応を行った。その後、0.5kPaまで徐々に減圧しながら、190℃で3時間反応させた。この反応により常温で粘調な液体の形態を有するポリカーボネートジオール組成物が得られた。
撹拌機、温度計、還流冷却管、窒素吹き込み管、滴下ロートを取り付けた4ツ口フラスコ内を窒素雰囲気にし、ヘキサメチレンジイソシアネート600gを仕込み、撹拌下反応器内温度を70℃に保持した。イソシアヌレート化触媒テトラメチルアンモニウムカプリエートを加え、収率が24質量%になった時点でリン酸を添加し反応を停止した。反応液をろ過した後、薄膜蒸発缶を用いて未反応のヘキサメチレンジイソシアネートを除去して製造例のポリイソシアネートを得た。得られたポリイソシアネートの25℃における粘度は1,600mPa・s、イソシアネート基濃度は23.0質量%、数平均分子量は660、残留HDI濃度は0.2質量%であった。
ガラス製のサンプル瓶に、各実施例及び比較例で得たポリカーボネートジオール15g、上記の方法により製造したポリイソシアネート3g、酢酸ブチル18gを加えシェイカーにてよく振り混ぜた。溶液が均一になったのを確認し、1質量%のジブチルスズジラウレートを0.2g添加し良く振り混ぜた。得られた溶液をガラス板上またはABS板上に流延し、室温で5分間放置して溶剤をとばした後、80℃の乾燥機に1時間入れて乾燥させてポリウレタンフィルムを得た。得られたポリウレタンフィルムを気温23℃湿度50%の環境で一週間養生し評価に使用した。

- 1,3-ジオキサン-2-オンを含む、請求項1又は2に記載のポリカーボネートジオール組成物。
- 前記式(A)で表される繰り返し単位に対する1,3-ジオキサン-2-オンの含有量は、モル比で0.001~0.050である、請求項3記載のポリカーボネートジオール組成物。
- 請求項1~4のいずれか1項に記載のポリカーボネートジオール組成物の製造方法であって、ポリカーボネートジオール全体に対する1,3-ジオキサン-2-オンの含有量を調整する工程を含む、ポリカーボネートジオール組成物の製造方法。
