Description
前記像を表す光を入射し、視認者側に設けられ光の一部を反射し一部を透過する半透過ミラーと、光を前記半透過ミラーへ反射するミラーとが互いに対向するように配置される一対のミラーと、
前記一対のミラーを収納するケース体と、
前記ピラーを構成するピラー本体を前記車両の内側から覆い、また、前記ケース体が配置される開口部を有するカバー部材と、を備え、
前記カバー部材は、基部と、前記基部から前記視認者側に***し、前記基部から前記ケース体の前面のうち前記基部よりも前記視認者側に突出する部分に至る曲面を有する***部と、を有してなることを特徴とする。
死角補助装置100は、図1及び図2に示すように、座席に着座した視認者から見て右側(運転席側)のフロントピラー50に配置され、フロントピラー50及び黒セラ部21によって遮られる死角領域の像を映すものである。なお、死角補助装置100は、視認者から見てフロントピラー50及び黒セラ部21と対向するように配置される。
死角補助装置100が配置されるフロントピラー50は、概ね板状(略角柱状、略直方体状)である。そこで、各部材の機能の理解を容易にするため、フロントピラー50が延びる方向に沿う軸をY軸とし、フロントピラー50の車両1内に向く面(概ね視認者に向く面)の法線方向に沿う軸をZ軸とし、Y軸及びZ軸に直行する軸をX軸としたXYZ平面を適宜用いて、説明を行う。また、XYZの各軸を示す矢印が向く方向を、各軸の+(プラス)方向とする。このようにした場合、図1及び図2からわかるように、+Y方向は車両1の底側から概ね天井に向かう方向を示し、+Z方向はフロントピラー50から概ね視認者に向かう方向を示し、+X方向はフロントピラー50から概ね車両1の後方に向かう方向を示すこととなる。なお、このXYZ平面は厳密なものではなく、あくまで、各部材の位置関係等の構成の理解を容易にするために導入したものである。
一方、物体Mからの光MLは、一対の平行平面ミラー110に入射し、まず半透過平面ミラー111で一部が透過され一部が反射され、その後一対の平行平面ミラー110の間で反射を繰り返しつつ概ね+X方向を進み、一部の光MLは一対の平行平面ミラー110から概ね+Z方向に出射する(半透過平面ミラー111を透過する、あるいは半透過平面ミラー111と平面ミラー112との隙間から直接出射する)。なお、一対の平行平面ミラー110に入射し、一対の平行平面ミラー110の間で反射を繰り返すのは一対の平行平面ミラー110の平行な平面に対して傾きを有する光である。一対の平行平面ミラー110から出射する光MLの一部は、視点Oに達する。したがって、視点Oからは直接視認できる風景と連続して平面ミラー112に映る物体Mの像を半透過平面ミラー111越しに視認することができ、フロントピラー50を透過したような見え方となる。なお、死角領域Dのうちフロントピラー50の背面側の僅かな領域(ハッチングで示す部分)は、この領域からの光が一対の平行平面ミラー110に入射できず、その像を一対の平行平面ミラー110によって映すことができないが、それ以外の殆どの領域において死角領域Dの像を一対の平行平面ミラー110によって映すことができる。
なお、死角領域Dの像を一対の平行平面ミラー110によって映すに当たって、視認者は、死角補助装置100をフロントピラー50の任意の高さ(視点Oに合った高さ)に、一対の平行平面ミラー110に死角領域Dの像が映るように、すなわち、死角領域Dからの光MLが視点Oに達するように一対の平行平面ミラー110の角度を調整して配置する。半透過平面ミラー111と平面ミラー112とは互いの位置関係が平行に固定されるため、一度の配置作業で一対の平行平面ミラー110を同時に配置することができ、また、一度の調整作業で一対の平行平面ミラー110の角度を同時に調整することができる。
前記像を表す光MLを入射し、視認者側に設けられ光MLの一部を反射し一部を透過する半透過平面ミラー111と、光MLを半透過平面ミラー111へ反射する平面ミラー112とが互いに対向するように配置される一対の平行平面ミラー110と、
一対の平行平面ミラー110を収納するケース体120と、
フロントピラー50を構成するピラー本体51を車両1の内側から覆い、また、ケース体120が配置される開口部130aを有するカバー部材130と、を備え、
カバー部材130は、基部131と、基部131から前記視認者側に***し、基部131からケース体120の前面のうち基部131よりも前記視認者側に突出する部分に至る曲面132a,132bを有する***部132と、を有してなる。
これによれば、ケース体120が視認者側に突出している印象を和らげ、フロントピラー50に設置した際の視認者の違和感を軽減し、また、外観の見栄えの低下を抑制することが可能となる。
これによれば、基部131とケース体120の前面とを滑らかな曲面で繋ぐことができ、より視認者の違和感を軽減し、また、外観の見栄えの低下を抑制することが可能となる。
これによれば、ケース体120が入射側に突出している印象を和らげ、フロントピラー50に設置した際の視認者の違和感を軽減し、また、外観の見栄えの低下を抑制することが可能となる。
これによれば、基部131とケース体120の入射側側面とを滑らかな曲線で繋ぐことができ、より視認者の違和感を軽減し、また、外観の見栄えの低下を抑制することが可能となる。

Claims (4)
- 車両のピラーによって遮られる死角領域の像を映す死角補助装置であって、
前記像を表す光を入射し、視認者側に設けられ光の一部を反射し一部を透過する半透過ミラーと、光を前記半透過ミラーへ反射するミラーとが互いに対向するように配置される一対のミラーと、
前記一対のミラーを収納するケース体と、
前記ピラーを構成するピラー本体を前記車両の内側から覆い、また、前記ケース体が配置される開口部を有するカバー部材と、を備え、
前記カバー部材は、基部と、前記基部から前記視認者側に***し、前記基部から前記ケース体の前面のうち前記基部よりも前記視認者側に突出する部分に至る曲面を有する***部と、を有してなることを特徴とする死角補助装置。 - 前記曲面は、前記基部の面方向から前記視認者側に向かって曲がる凹曲面と前記視認者側から前記ケース体の前面の面方向に向かって曲がる凸曲面とが連続した曲面からなることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の死角補助装置。
- 前記ケース体は、その入射側側面が前記基部から入射側に迫り出すように配置され、
前記***部は、前記基部から入射側に突出する部分を有し、この突出する部分の外形は、前記視認者の視点から見たときに前記基部から前記ケース体の入射側側面に至る曲線を有することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の死角補助装置。 - 前記曲線は、前記基部の面方向から入射側に向かって曲がる凹曲線と入射側から前記ケース体の入射側側面の面方向に向かって曲がる凸曲線とが連続した曲線からなることを特徴とする請求項3に記載の死角補助装置。
