前記外部装置におけるサービスのリアルタイム性を判定し、当該リアルタイム性に基づいて、前記無線基地局との間のベアラの設定方法を決定する決定手段と
を備えるゲートウェイ装置が提供される。
前記ゲートウェイ装置は、前記端末装置から順次受信するデータを一時的にデータ格納手段に格納した後に、当該データ格納手段に格納されたデータを、前記移動通信網に接続される外部装置に送信する格納制御手段を備えており、
前記外部装置におけるサービスのリアルタイム性を判定するステップと、
前記リアルタイム性に基づいて、前記無線基地局との間のベアラの設定方法を決定する決定ステップと
を備えるベアラ設定制御方法が提供される。
図2に、本発明の実施の形態(第1、第2の実施の形態に共通)における通信システムの構成例を示す。図2に示す構成は、無線アクセスネットワーク及びコアネットワークの部分については図1に示す構成と同じであるが、図2では、接続構成をより分かり易く示すために、無線アクセスネットワークの部分を無線基地局35として示している。無線基地局35は、例えばLTEの無線通信機能を持つeNBであるが、これに限定されるわけではない。
図3に示すシーケンス図を参照して、MTC-GW100のキャッシング/バッファリングに係る動作例を説明する。
次に、図4に示すシーケンス図を参照して、MTC-GW100のPSM処理(PSM-handling)に係る動作例を説明する。
次に、図5に示すシーケンス図を参照して、MTC-GW100とNWプロキシ装置200との間の連携(Interworking)に係る動作例を説明する。
図6は、第1の実施の形態におけるMTC-GW100の構成例を示す図である。図6に示すように、MTC-GW100は、端末側通信部101、NW側通信部102、連携制御部103、バッファリング制御部104、データ格納部105、PSM制御部106を含む。図6に示す機能構成は一例に過ぎない。本実施の形態に係る動作を実行できるのであれば、機能区分や機能部の名称はどのようなものでもよい。
以上、説明したとおり、第1の実施の形態により、移動通信網における無線基地局と、端末装置との間に備えられるゲートウェイ装置であって、前記移動通信網に外部装置として接続されるプロキシ装置に対して、前記ゲートウェイ装置がアクティブ化したことを示す情報を通知する通知手段と、前記端末装置から順次受信するデータを一時的にデータ格納手段に格納した後に、当該データ格納手段に格納されたデータを前記プロキシ装置に送信する格納制御手段とを備えるゲートウェイ装置が提供される。
次に、第2の実施の形態を説明する。第2の実施の形態では、(4)ベアラ設定方法決定機能、(5)生データ処理機能を詳細に説明する。なお、以下で説明する各装置は、第1の実施の形態で説明した機能に加えて第2の実施の形態の機能を備えることとしてもよいし、第2の実施の形態のみを実施可能な機能を備えることとしてもよい。
以下、MTC-GW100により実行されるベアラ設定方法の決定について説明する。なお、「ベアラ」は、より具体的には、RAB(無線アクセスベアラ)であり、MTC-GW100と無線基地局35との間の論理的なパケット通信路である。ベアラは、双方向の通信帯域と考えてよい。また、本実施の形態において、MTC-GW100と無線基地局35間のベアラにおける、上りと下りのそれぞれの伝送可能最大ビットレート(パイプの太さ)は、無線基地局35の能力と帯域割当のポリシに応じて予め決まった値である。MTC-GW100が移動通信網を介して間でデータ通信を行うためにはベアラが設定されている必要がある。
ベアラの設定方法決定例1において、MTC-GW100は、リアルタイム性指標として、リアルタイム性が高いことを検知すると、いずれのMTC端末40からもデータを受信しない期間(時間長)が、所定の閾値(第1の閾値)以上継続しない限り、ベアラの設定を継続する、というベアラ設定を行うと決定する。ベアラを切断した後、いずれかのMTC端末40からデータを受信した場合に、再びベアラを設定する。
ベアラの設定方法決定例2では、MTC-GW100は、リアルタイム性指標として、リアルタイム性が(a)のケースより低いことを検知する。この場合、いずれのMTC端末40からもデータを受信しない期間(時間長)が、所定の閾値(第2の閾値(<第1の閾値))以上継続しない限り、ベアラの設定を継続する、というベアラ設定を行うと決定する。(b)のケースでは、閾値が(b)のケースよりも小さいため、(b)のケースよりは頻繁にベアラの設定/削除が行われる。(b)のケースでは、(a)のケースよりもリアルタイム性が低いため、仮に、ベアラの設定処理のために、データ送信が遅れ、バッファされた後にデータ送信が行われるケースが増加しても、許容される。ここでは、データの即時送信を行わないため、計測した時刻(例:計測データを端末から受信した時刻、端末からデータに付加されて通知される計測時刻等)を送信データに付加して無線基地局側に送信することとしてもよい。これにより送信時刻と計測時刻のずれの解消も可能である。計測した時刻を送信データに付加して無線基地局側に送信することは、下記の(c)の場合にも適用できる。
ベアラの設定方法決定例3では、MTC-GW100は、リアルタイム性指標として、リアルタイム性が無いことを検知する。リアルタイム性が無いとは、例えば、許容できる遅延時間が、1日以上である等、非常に長い場合である。
次に、MTC-GW100により実行される生データ(Raw Data)の処理について説明する。
図12は、第2の実施の形態におけるMTC-GW100の構成例を示す図である。図12に示すように、MTC-GW100は、端末側通信部101、NW側通信部102、連携制御部103、バッファリング制御部104、データ格納部105、PSM制御部106、ベアラ設定方法決定部107、生データ処理部108を含む。図12に示す機能構成は一例に過ぎない。本実施の形態に係る動作を実行できるのであれば、機能区分や機能部の名称はどのようなものでもよい。また、図12は、第1の実施の形態に係る機能と第2の実施の形態に係る機能の両方の機能を持つ例を示しているが、第1の実施の形態で説明した機能(第2の実施の形態で必要な機能を除く)を持たず、第2の実施の形態での処理を実行可能な機能を持つこととしてもよい。
以上、説明したとおり、第2の実施の形態により、移動通信網における無線基地局と、端末装置との間に備えられるゲートウェイ装置であって、前記端末装置から順次受信するデータを一時的にデータ格納手段に格納した後に、当該データ格納手段に格納されたデータを、前記移動通信網に接続される外部装置に送信する格納制御手段と前記外部装置におけるサービスのリアルタイム性を判定し、当該リアルタイム性に基づいて、前記無線基地局との間のベアラの設定方法を決定する決定手段とを備えるゲートウェイ装置が提供される。

Claims (9)
- 移動通信網における無線基地局と、端末装置との間に備えられるゲートウェイ装置であって、
前記端末装置から順次受信するデータを一時的にデータ格納手段に格納した後に、当該データ格納手段に格納されたデータを、前記移動通信網に接続される外部装置に送信する格納制御手段と
前記外部装置におけるサービスのリアルタイム性を判定し、当該リアルタイム性に基づいて、前記無線基地局との間のベアラの設定方法を決定する決定手段と
を備えるゲートウェイ装置。 - 前記決定手段により決定されるベアラの設定方法は、当該ベアラを設定する時間間隔、又は、当該ベアラを設定するトリガとなる前記データ格納手段に一時的に格納されるデータ量である
請求項1に記載のゲートウェイ装置。 - 前記決定手段は、前記サービスのリアルタイム性が有ると判断した場合に、前記端末装置からデータを受信する限り、ベアラを継続的に設定しておくことを前記ベアラの設定方法として決定する
請求項1又は2に記載のゲートウェイ装置。 - 前記決定手段は、前記サービスのリアルタイム性が無いと判断した場合に、前記ベアラの設定方法を、ベアラを設定及び削除するためにかかるコスト及びべアラを継続的に設定しておくためにかかるコストを最小化するように決定する
請求項1ないし3のうちいずれか1項に記載のゲートウェイ装置。 - 前記決定手段は、前記サービスのリアルタイム性が無いと判断した場合に、前記ベアラの設定方法を、前記端末装置から送信されるデータのデータレート、前記端末装置からのデータ送信頻度、前記ベアラの最大データレート、及び前記データ格納手段に一時的に格納できる最大のデータ量のうちのいずれか1つ又は複数に基づいて決定する
請求項3又は4に記載のゲートウェイ装置。 - 前記決定手段は、前記外部装置から受信する情報に基づいて前記サービスのリアルタイム性を判定する、前記端末装置から受信する情報に基づいて前記サービスのリアルタイム性を判定する、又は、前記外部装置へ接続する際に用いる接続先情報に基づいて前記サービスのリアルタイム性を判定する
請求項1ないし5のうちいずれか1項に記載のゲートウェイ装置。 - 前記端末装置から受信した生のデータに対して所定の処理を施し、処理後のデータを前記外部装置に送信する生データ処理手段
を備える請求項1ないし6のうちいずれか1項に記載のゲートウェイ装置。 - 前記生データ処理手段は、前記外部装置から受信した制御情報に基づいて、前記所定の処理を決定する
請求項7に記載のゲートウェイ装置。 - 移動通信網における無線基地局と、端末装置との間に備えられるゲートウェイ装置が実行するベアラ設定制御方法であって、
前記ゲートウェイ装置は、前記端末装置から順次受信するデータを一時的にデータ格納手段に格納した後に、当該データ格納手段に格納されたデータを、前記移動通信網に接続される外部装置に送信する格納制御手段を備えており、
前記外部装置におけるサービスのリアルタイム性を判定するステップと、
前記リアルタイム性に基づいて、前記無線基地局との間のベアラの設定方法を決定する決定ステップと
を備えるベアラ設定制御方法。
