以下、本発明の好適な実施形態について詳細に説明する。
脱水縮合によるエステル化反応に用いることのできる触媒としては、例えば硫酸、塩酸、リン酸等の無機酸;メタンスルホン酸、p-トルエンスルホン酸、ベンゼンスルホン酸等の有機酸;三フッ化ホウ素、ジメチル錫オキサイド、ジブチル錫オキサイド、ジメチル錫ジクロリド、ジブチル錫ジクロリド、ジメチルジメトキシ錫、ジブチルジメトキシ錫、アルミニウムイソプロポキシド、亜鉛アセチルアセトナート、テトラメトキシチタン、テトライソプロポキシチタン、テトラブトキシチタン等のルイス酸;カチオン型イオン交換樹脂など公知の酸触媒を挙げることができ、これらからなる群から選択される少なくとも1種の触媒が好ましい。触媒は1種単独でも、2種以上を同時に用いてもよい。また、塩基を用いて反応系中でこれらのルイス酸触媒を発生させてもよい。
触媒を用いる場合、触媒の使用量はポリオール化合物1モルに対して0.1モル%以上10モル%以下、好ましくは0.5モル%以上5モル%以下である。

組成物の硬化方法は特に制限されず、組成物に含まれるラジカル重合開始剤等に応じて通常用いられる方法から適宜選択される。組成物は熱処理又は光照射処理することで硬化させることができ、光照射処理した後に更に熱処理してもよい。熱処理の温度は、例えば60℃以上200℃以下とすればよく、熱処理の時間は、例えば10分以上3時間以下とすればよい。光照射処理は、例えば波長210nm以上450nm以下の光を照射することができる。照射量は、例えば80mJ/cm2以上とすることができる。
ポリマーの分子量は特に制限されず、目的等に応じて適宜選択される。ポリマーの重量平均分子量は、例えば1000以上40000以下である。
TMPTA:トリメチロールプロパントリアクリレート(東京化成工業株式会社製)
TMPTM:トリメチロールプロパントリメタクリレート(東京化成工業株式会社製)
上記TMPTAは純度79%のため、カラム精製を行った後に用いた。
ウレタンオリゴマー:日本合成化学工業株式会社製 商品名「紫光 UV-7510B」
重合開始剤:1-ヒドロキシシクロヘキシルフェニルケトン(和光純薬工業株式会社製)
生成物は1H-NMR及び13C-NMRスペクトルによって同定した。また、測定はCDCl3溶媒で、それぞれ500MHz及び125MHzで行った。
測定には日本電子社製JNM-ECA500を用いた。
2-(5-エチル-5-ヒドロキシメチル-[1,3]ジオキサン-2-イル)-2-メチルプロパン-1-オールの合成
2,2-ジメチル-3-ヒドロキシプロピオンアルデヒド(ヒドロキシピバルアルデヒド、三菱瓦斯化学株式会社製、純度99.8%)45.1gと、2-エチル-2―ヒドロキシメチルプロパン-1,3-ジオール(トリメチロールプロパン、東京化成工業社製試薬)59.6g、と、ベンゼン706gと、粒状ナフィオン(商品名「NR-50」、シグマアルドリッチ社製試薬)5.0gとを2リットルの丸底フラスコに収容し、常圧下で生成する水をベンゼンと共沸させながらディーン・スターク・トラップを用いて系外へ抜き出して、水の留出が止まるまで反応させた。これを濾過したのちに濃縮及び冷却することにより再結晶させて、2-(5-エチル-5-ヒドロキシメチル-[1,3]ジオキサン-2-イル)-2-メチルプロパン-1-オールの結晶を得た。
金属成分の担体として用いた酸化ジルコニウムを下記の方法で調製した。
酸化ジルコニウム(ZrO2)換算で25質量%の濃度のオキシ硝酸ジルコニウム水溶液505gに、撹拌しながら28質量%アンモニア水15.5gを滴下することにより白色沈殿物を得た。これを濾過し、イオン交換水で洗浄した後に、110℃、10時間乾燥して含水酸化ジルコニウムを得た。これを磁製坩堝に収容し、電気炉を用いて空気中で400℃、3時間の焼成処理を行った後、メノウ乳鉢で粉砕して粉末状酸化ジルコニウム(以下、「担体A」とも表記する。)を得た。担体AのBET比表面積(窒素吸着法により測定。)は102.7m2/gであった。
パラジウムを特定金属成分とする触媒を下記の方法で調製した。
50gの担体Aに0.66質量%塩化パラジウム-0.44質量%塩化ナトリウム水溶液を添加し、担体上に金属成分を吸着させた。そこにホルムアルデヒド-水酸化ナトリウム水溶液を注加して吸着した金属成分を瞬時に還元した。その後、イオン交換水により触媒を洗浄し、乾燥することにより1.0質量%パラジウム担持酸化ジルコニウム触媒(以下、「触媒A」と表記する。)を調製した。
2-エチル-2-(3-ヒドロキシ-2,2-ジメチル-プロポキシメチル)-プロパン-1,3-ジオールの合成
500mLのSUS製反応器内に、触媒A7.5g、2-(5-エチル-5-ヒドロキシメチル-[1,3]ジオキサン-2-イル)-2-メチルプロパン-1-オール 75g、及びジオキサン225gを収容し、反応器内を窒素ガスで置換した。その後、反応器内に水素ガスを8.5MPa充填し、反応温度である230℃へ昇温して8時間反応させた。その後に冷却して反応器の内容物を回収し、再結晶することにより目的物を得た。
2-((3-(アクリロイロキシ)-2,2-ジメチルプロポキシ)メチル)-2-エチルプロパン-1,3-ジイル ジアクリレート(NTTA)の合成
2-エチル-2-(3-ヒドロキシ-2,2-ジメチル-プロポキシメチル)-プロパン-1,3-ジオール(30.0g、136mmol)、アクリル酸メチル(59.3g、680mmol)、ジメチル錫ジクロリド(900mg、4.1mmol)、ナトリウムメトキシド(216mg、4.1mmol)、p-メトキシフェノール(297mg、2.4mmol)、ハイドロキノン(120mg、1.1mmol)を撹拌子、温度計、ビグリューカラムを備えたガラス製反応器中で混合した。内温82℃以上94℃以下で加温し、アクリル酸メチルとの共沸でメタノールを系内から留去しながら30時間加熱撹拌した。また、反応中は塔頂より1質量%p-メトキシフェノールのアクリル酸メチル溶液を滴下し、ビグリューカラム内での重合を防ぐとともにメタノールとの共沸留去により不足するアクリル酸メチルを補った。塩基洗浄で触媒と重合禁止剤を除いたのち、減圧下で未反応のアクリル酸メチルを留去して目的物であるトリアクリレートモノマーを得た(49.4g、純度93.5%、121mmol、収率89%)。
実施例1で得られた物を1H-NMR及び13C-NMRスペクトルで同定したところ、以下化学構造式で示される新規化合物であった。なお、該化合物を本明細書中でNTTAと称することがある。
1H-NMR δ 0.88 (t, -CH2CH 3 , 3H), 0.93 (s, -C(CH 3 ) 2 , 6H), 1.50(q, -CH 2 CH3, 2H), 3.16 (s, -CH 2 O-, 2H), 3.30 (s, -CH 2 O-, 2H), 3.95 (s, -COOCH 2 -, 2H), 4.13-4.14 (m, -COOCH 2 ×2, 4H), 5.81-5.84 (m, H a & H a ’, 3H), 6.08-6.15 (m, H b & H b ’, 3H), 6.37-6.40 (m, H c & H c ’, 3H).
13C-NMR δ 7.46, 21.87, 23.17, 35.69, 41.77, 64.64, 69.67, 70.94, 77.21, 128.22, 128.23, 128.50, 130.42, 130.83, 165.89, 166.05.
2-エチル-2-((3-(メタクリロイロキシ)-2,2-ジメチルプロポキシ)メチル)プロパン-1,3-ジイル ジメタクリレート(NTTM)の合成
2-エチル-2-(3-ヒドロキシ-2,2-ジメチル-プロポキシメチル)-プロパン-1,3-ジオール(30.0g、136mmol)、メタクリル酸メチル(109g、1.09mol)ジメチル錫ジクロリド(902mg、4.1mmol)、ナトリウムメトキシド(220mg、4.1mmol)、p-メトキシフェノール(125mg、1.0mmol)を撹拌子、温度計、ビグリューカラムを備えたガラス製反応器中で混合した。内温93℃以上115℃以下で加温し、メタクリル酸メチルとの共沸でメタノールを系内から留去しながら42時間加熱撹拌した。塩基洗浄で触媒と重合禁止剤を除いたのち、減圧下で未反応のアクリル酸メチルを留去して目的物であるトリメタクリレートモノマーを得た(58.7g、純度92.2%、127mmol、収率94%)。
実施例2で得られた物を1H-NMR及び13C-NMRスペクトルで同定したところ以下化学構造式で示される新規化合物であった。なお、該化合物を本明細書中でNTTMと称することがある。
1H-NMR δ 0.89 (t, -CH2CH 3 , 3H), 0.93 (s, -C(CH 3 ) 2 , 6H), 1.51 (q, -CH 2 CH3, 2H), 1.93 (s, CH2=C(CH 3 )CO-×3, 9H), 3.17(s, -CH 2 O-, 2H), 3.33 (s, -CH 2 O-, 2H), 3.93 (s, -COOCH 2 -, 2H), 4.11-4.12 (m, -COOCH 2 ×2, 4H), 5.54-5.55 (m, H a & H a ’×2, 3H), 6.08 (s, H b & H b ’×2, 3H).
13C-NMR δ 7.53, 18.29, 21.92, 23.36, 35.78, 41.96, 64.79, 69.83, 71.11, 77.32, 125.14, 125.57, 136.17, 136.44, 167.05, 167.19.
以下では、実施例1及び2で合成したトリアクリレートモノマー及びトリメタクリレートモノマーをそれぞれ単体でUV硬化し、硬化物の物性を以下のようにして評価した。また、一般に使用されるトリメチロールプロパントリアクリレート(TMPTA)及びトリメチロールプロパントリメタクリレート(TMPTM)の硬化物についても同様にして物性を評価した。
ピクノメーターを使用して硬化前モノマー比重を測定し、電子比重計(ALFA MIRAGE株式会社製、EW-300SG)を使用して0.5mm厚硬化板の比重を測定した。以下の式を用いて硬化収縮率(%)を算出した。
硬化収縮率(%)=
[{(硬化物比重)-(硬化前比重)}/(硬化物比重)]×100
0.5mm厚ポリカーボネート基板上に膜厚50μmで硬化させた塗膜について、JIS K 5600-5-4に準拠し、コーテック株式会社製の鉛筆硬度計を用いて測定した。
125μm厚表面処理PETフィルム(東洋紡製 商品名「コスモシャイン A2330」)上で硬化させた膜厚50μmの塗膜について、コーテック株式会社製クロスカットガイドを使用し、JIS K 5400-8-5-2に準拠した碁盤目テープ法にて評価した。碁盤目100マス中の剥離度合いを以下の式で評価した。
(剥離せず残ったマス目数)/100
100μm厚ポリカーボネートフィルム(三菱瓦斯化学株式会社製 商品名「ユーピロンフィルム FE-2000」)上に、膜厚23μm又は50μmの硬化膜を形成し、硬化後にポリカーボネートフィルムごと100mm×100mmにカットして試験片とし、水平板上に置いて試験片の四つ角の板面からの浮き上がりを測定した。四つ角の浮き上がりの平均値をカール性の測定値として記載した。
実施例1にて製造されたNTTA(12.0g)に対して、重合開始剤1-ヒドロキシシクロヘキシルフェニルケトン5質量%(600mg)を添加し、均一に溶解させ、モノマー組成物(重合性組成物)とした。なお、使用したNTTAは反応後カラムクロマトグラフィーによって精製し、純度>99%としたものを用いた。
硬化方法(1):1mm厚ガラス板、100μmPETフィルム、50mm×50mmをくりぬいた0.5mm厚シリコン型の順に重ね、シリコン型の中にモノマー組成物を流し込んだ。さらにPETフィルム、ガラス板を重ね、固定した後に波長360nmの紫外線照射により硬化させた。
硬化方法(2):バーコーターを用いて各基板上に膜厚23μm又は50μmで塗布し、PETフィルムでラミネートして波長360nmの紫外線照射によって硬化させた。
上記硬化方法(1)の方法で硬化した硬化板で硬化物比重を測定し、硬化方法(2)の方法で硬化した硬化膜について鉛筆硬度、カール性、接着性を測定したところ、硬化収縮率10.5%、膜厚23μmにおけるカール性20.1mm、接着性100/100、鉛筆硬度3Hであった。評価結果を表1にまとめて示す。
実施例2にて製造されたNTTM、トリメチロールプロパントリアクリレート(TMPTA)及びトリメチロールプロパントリメタクリレート(TMPTM)について、それぞれ5質量%の重合開始剤1-ヒドロキシシクロヘキシルフェニルケトンを添加して、実施例3と同様にモノマー組成物を調製した。さらにその硬化物を同様にして作製し、各種物性の測定を行った。評価結果を表1にまとめて示す。
基板素材0.5mm厚ポリカーボネート上で硬化させた膜厚50μm薄膜硬化板について、JIS K 5600-5-1に準拠し、コーテック株式会社製円柱型マンドレル屈曲試験機を用いて硬化膜を180度折り曲げ、目視にて割れや剥がれの有無を確認した。割れや剥がれを生じたマンドレルの最大直径を評価結果として記す。
実施例1にて製造したNTTA4.5g、ウレタンアクリレートオリゴマー4.5gを45℃水浴上にて撹拌し、均一な溶液とした。1-ヒドロキシシクロヘキシルフェニルケトン450mgを添加し、溶解させて重合性組成物を調製した。
実施例2にて製造されたNTTM、TMPTA及びTMPTMをそれぞれ同質量のウレタンアクリレートオリゴマーと混合し、均一な溶液とした。全樹脂量の5質量%の重合開始剤1-ヒドロキシシクロヘキシルフェニルケトンを添加し、実施例5と同様にして重合性組成物を調製した。ついで同様にして硬化物を作製し、各種物性の測定を行った。評価結果を表2にまとめて示す。
また式(1)で示されるトリアクリレート化合物は、種々の硬化性樹脂組成物としても利用することができ、低硬化収縮、高耐屈曲性、接着性及び低カール性等の諸物性で良好なバランスを示す硬化物を与える。
上記の特徴を有する本発明の式(1)で示されるトリアクリレート化合物及びそれを含む組成物は、例えば架橋剤やインク、塗料、コーティング剤、ハードコート、フィルム、接着剤、粘着剤、表面加工剤、レンズ、レジスト、偏光板、封止剤、液晶、歯科用途、爪用化粧用途等の種々の用途に使用することができる。
Claims (13)
- 請求項1に記載のトリアクリレート化合物と、ラジカル重合開始剤とを含む組成物。
- ラジカル重合開始剤が光ラジカル重合開始剤である請求項2に記載の組成物。
- トリアクリレート化合物以外の他の重合性モノマー及び重合性オリゴマーからなる群から選ばれる少なくとも1種を更に含む請求項2又3に記載の組成物。
- 重合性オリゴマーが、ウレタンアクリレートオリゴマー及びウレタンメタクリレートオリゴマーからなる群から選ばれる少なくとも1種である請求項4に記載の組成物。
- 請求項2から5のいずれか1項に記載の組成物の硬化物。
- 請求項2から5のいずれか1項に記載の組成物を含むインキ。
- 請求項2から5のいずれか1項に記載の組成物を含むコート剤。
- 請求項2から5のいずれか1項に記載の組成物の硬化物を含むフィルム。
- 請求項2から5のいずれか1項に記載の組成物を含む接着剤。
