Abstract
ヒューズユニット(1)は、バッテリ(3)の上面に突設されたバッテリポスト(5)に固定されたバッテリ端子(7)に突設されたスタッドボルト(9)が挿通される挿通孔(11)を有するヒューズエレメント(13)と、インサート成形によってヒューズエレメント(13)と一体化されて形成され、バッテリ(3)の側面に当接される当接部(15)を有する樹脂ボディ(17)とを備える。ヒューズエレメント(13)の挿通孔(11)は、バッテリポスト(5)の配置位置が異なる複数のバッテリ(3)に対して、バッテリ(3)の側面と樹脂ボディ(17)の当接部(15)とが当接した状態で、スタッドボルト(9)を挿通可能な形状に形成されている。
Description
本発明は、バッテリに固定されたバッテリ端子に取り付けられるヒューズユニットに関する。
従来のヒューズユニットとして、バッテリの上面に突設されたバッテリポストに固定されたバッテリ端子に突設されたスタッドボルトが挿通される挿通孔を有するヒューズエレメントと、インサート成形によってこのヒューズエレメントが一体化されて形成された樹脂ボディとを備えたものが知られている(特許文献1参照)。
このヒューズユニットでは、樹脂ボディがバッテリの側面側に向けてL字状に形成されている。
このような樹脂ボディを有するヒューズユニットは、樹脂ボディのバッテリの側面と対向する部分に、バッテリの側面と当接する当接部を有する。当接部は、バッテリに対してヒューズユニットが回動しないように規制している。
ところで、バッテリには、バッテリの上面に突設されたバッテリポストの位置が異なる様々なタイプが存在する。従って、バッテリの上面におけるバッテリ端子のスタッドボルトの位置は異なることがある。
しかしながら、上記特許文献1のようなヒューズユニットでは、ヒューズエレメントの挿通孔が真円形状であるので、バッテリのタイプの違いにより、バッテリ端子のスタッドボルトをヒューズエレメントの挿通孔に挿通させたとしても、樹脂ボディをバッテリに組付けることができない、或いは樹脂ボディの当接部がバッテリの側面に当接しないことがあった。
そこで、この発明は、様々なタイプのバッテリに組付けることができるヒューズユニットの提供を目的としている。
本発明の一態様はヒューズユニットであって、バッテリの上面に突設されたバッテリポストに固定されたバッテリ端子に突設されたスタッドボルトが挿通される挿通孔を有するヒューズエレメントと、インサート成形によって前記ヒューズエレメントと一体化されて形成され、前記バッテリの側面に当接される当接部を有する樹脂ボディとを備え、前記ヒューズエレメントの前記挿通孔は、前記バッテリポストの配置位置が異なる複数の前記バッテリに対して、前記バッテリの側面と前記樹脂ボディの当接部とが当接した状態で、前記スタッドボルトを挿通可能な形状に形成されていることを要旨とする。
前記ヒューズエレメントの前記挿通孔は、前記バッテリの前記側面と前記樹脂ボディの前記当接部との当接方向に長穴状に形成されていてもよい。
前記樹脂ボディの当接部の端部には、前記樹脂ボディを前記バッテリに組付けるときに、前記バッテリの上面端部と摺動するテーパ面が形成されていてもよい。
本発明によれば、様々なタイプのバッテリに組付けることができるヒューズユニットを提供することができるという効果を奏する。
図1~図10を用いて本発明の実施の形態に係るヒューズユニットについて説明する。
本実施の形態に係るヒューズユニット1は、バッテリ3の上面に突設されたバッテリポスト5に固定されたバッテリ端子7に突設されたスタッドボルト9が挿通される挿通孔11を有するヒューズエレメント13と、インサート成形によってヒューズエレメント13と一体化されて形成され、バッテリ3の側面に当接される当接部15を有する樹脂ボディ17とを備えている。
そして、ヒューズエレメント13の挿通孔11は、バッテリポスト5の配置位置が異なる複数のバッテリ3に対して、バッテリ3の側面と樹脂ボディ17の当接部15とが当接した状態で、スタッドボルト9を挿通可能な形状に形成されている。
また、ヒューズエレメント13の挿通孔11は、バッテリ3の側面と樹脂ボディ17の当接部15との当接方向に長穴状に形成されている。
さらに、樹脂ボディ17の当接部15の端部には、樹脂ボディ17をバッテリ3に組付けるときに、バッテリ3の上面端部と摺動するテーパ面19が形成されている。
ここで、ヒューズユニット1は、車両に搭載されたバッテリ3と、車両に搭載された各種機器などとの間に配置され、バッテリ3からの電源を各種機器などに供給するものである。
図1~図10に示すように、バッテリ3は、直方体状に形成され、上面にバッテリポスト5が突設されている。バッテリポスト5は、バッテリ3のタイプによって上面における配置位置が異なる。バッテリポスト5には、バッテリ端子7が固定されている。
バッテリ端子7は、導電性材料からなり、一端側にバッテリポスト5が挿通されて電気的に接続される孔からなる接続部21が設けられ、他端側にバッテリ3の上面から上方に向けた方向にスタッドボルト9が突設されている。
バッテリ端子7は、接続部21をバッテリポスト5に挿通した状態で、ボルト23を締め込むことによりバッテリ3に固定される。バッテリ3に固定されたバッテリ端子7のスタッドボルト9には、ヒューズユニット1のヒューズエレメント13の挿通孔11が挿通される。
ヒューズユニット1は、ヒューズエレメント13と、樹脂ボディ17とを備えている。ヒューズエレメント13は、薄板状の導電性材料からなり、打ち抜き加工などによって、複数の可溶体固定部25と、複数のタブ端子27と、機器接続孔29と、挿通孔11などが形成されている。
複数の可溶体固定部25は、挿通孔11が設けられた電源接続部31と、複数のタブ端子27や機器接続孔29が設けられた複数の機器接続部33との間を連結し、過電流によって溶断する可溶体(不図示)が固定される。
複数のタブ端子27は、複数の機器接続部33にそれぞれ設けられ、複数の機器接続部33に設けられた屈曲部35を屈曲させることにより、バッテリ3の側面に対して平行に配置される。
複数のタブ端子27は、樹脂ボディ17を形成すると共にヒューズエレメント13を樹脂ボディ17に一体化させるインサート成形により、樹脂ボディ17のコネクタ部37内に配置される。複数のタブ端子27は、電装品などの機器に接続されたコネクタ(不図示)が嵌合することによって機器などに電気的に接続される。
機器接続孔29は、2つのタブ端子27が設けられた機器接続部33に設けられ、バッテリ3の上面に配置される。機器接続孔29には、機器スタッドボルト39が挿通されて電気的に接続される。
機器接続孔29に挿通された機器スタッドボルト39は、ヒューズエレメント13と共に、インサート成形によって樹脂ボディ17と一体化される。機器スタッドボルト39は、オルタネータなどの機器に接続された端子(不図示)が固定されることによって機器などに電気的に接続される。
挿通孔11は、電源接続部31に設けられ、バッテリ3の上面に配置される。挿通孔11には、バッテリ端子7のスタッドボルト9が挿通されてバッテリ端子7に電気的に接続される。なお、挿通孔11とスタッドボルト9とは、スタッドボルト9にナット41を締め付けることによって固定される。
ヒューズエレメント13は、電源接続部31と複数の機器接続部33とを連結する連結部分の所定箇所が切断される。その後、ヒューズエレメント13は、屈曲部35を屈曲させて全体形状をL字状にされ、インサート成形によって樹脂ボディ17と一体化される。
樹脂ボディ17は、合成樹脂などの絶縁性材料からなり、ヒューズエレメント13と一体化するインサート成形によって形成される。ヒューズエレメント13の挿通孔11や機器接続孔29などの所定箇所は樹脂ボディ17の外部(外側)に露出する。
樹脂ボディ17は、ヒューズエレメント13の挿通孔11や機器接続孔29をバッテリ3の上面に位置させ、ヒューズエレメント13の複数のタブ端子27が配置されるコネクタ部37をバッテリ3の側面に位置させるようにL字状に成形される。
なお、樹脂ボディ17のヒューズエレメント13の可溶体固定部25が位置する部分には、可溶体カバー43が取り付けられ、可溶体の状況確認や交換などを容易に行えるようにされている。
樹脂ボディ17のバッテリ3の側面と対向する対向面には、バッテリ3の側面と当接する当接部15が設けられている。当接部15は、バッテリ3の側面と当接することにより、ヒューズユニット1をバッテリ3に組付けた状態で、スタッドボルト9を中心とするヒューズユニット1の回動を規制する。
一方、当接部15の下端部には、下側に向けて下り傾斜となるテーパ面19が形成されている。テーパ面19は、ヒューズユニット1をバッテリ3の上面側から組付けるときに、バッテリ3の上面端部と摺動し、当接部15がバッテリ3の側面に位置することを案内する。
ヒューズユニット1において、ヒューズエレメント13の挿通孔11は、バッテリポスト5の配置位置が異なる複数のバッテリ3に対して、バッテリ3の側面と樹脂ボディ17の当接部15とが当接した状態で、スタッドボルト9を挿通可能な形状に形成されている。
詳細には、挿通孔11は、バッテリ3の側面と樹脂ボディ17の当接部15との当接方向に楕円状に形成されている。この楕円の長さは、バッテリポスト5からバッテリ3の側面までの距離が最も短いバッテリ3と、バッテリポスト5からバッテリ3の側面までの距離が最も長いバッテリ3とにおいて、バッテリ3の側面と樹脂ボディ17の当接部15とが当接した状態で、バッテリ端子7のスタッドボルト9を挿通可能な長さに設定されている。
このように挿通孔11の長穴形状を設定することにより、バッテリポスト5からバッテリ3の側面までの距離が異なる様々なタイプのバッテリ3に対して、ヒューズユニット1を組付けることができる。
例えば、バッテリポスト5からバッテリ3の側面までの距離が最も短いバッテリ3にヒューズユニット1を組付ける場合には、図6,図7に示すように、まず、ヒューズユニット1をバッテリ3の上面に配置させ、バッテリ端子7のスタッドボルト9をヒューズユニット1の挿通孔11に挿通させる。
次に、ヒューズユニット1の挿通孔11にバッテリ端子7のスタッドボルト9を完全に挿通させ、ヒューズユニット1をバッテリ3の側面に向けて移動させ、ヒューズユニット1の当接部15をバッテリ3の側面に当接させる。
そして、バッテリ端子7のスタッドボルト9にナット41を締め付け、スタッドボルト9に挿通孔11を固定させ、バッテリ端子7を介してヒューズユニット1とバッテリ3とを電気的に接続する。
一方、バッテリポスト5からバッテリ3の側面までの距離が最も長いバッテリ3にヒューズユニット1を組付ける場合には、図8~図10に示すように、まず、ヒューズユニット1をバッテリ3の上面に配置させ、バッテリ端子7のスタッドボルト9をヒューズユニット1の挿通孔11に挿通させる。
次に、ヒューズユニット1の挿通孔11にバッテリ端子7のスタッドボルト9を完全に挿通させる。このとき、当接部15の端部に形成されたテーパ面19がバッテリ3の上面端部と摺動し、当接部15がバッテリ3の側面に位置されて当接された状態となる。
そして、バッテリ端子7のスタッドボルト9にナット41を締め付け、スタッドボルト9に挿通孔11を固定させ、バッテリ端子7を介してヒューズユニット1とバッテリ3とを電気的に接続する。
ヒューズユニット1では、ヒューズエレメント13の挿通孔11がバッテリポスト5の配置位置が異なる複数のバッテリ3に対して、バッテリ3の側面と樹脂ボディ17の当接部15とが当接した状態で、スタッドボルト9を挿通可能な形状に形成されているので、バッテリポスト5の位置が異なる様々なタイプのバッテリ3に対して、バッテリ3の側面と樹脂ボディ17の当接部15とを当接させ、ヒューズエレメント13の挿通孔11にバッテリ端子7のスタッドボルト9を挿通させて組付けることができる。
従って、ヒューズユニット1では、ヒューズエレメント13の挿通孔11の形状により、バッテリポスト5の位置の違いを吸収することができ、様々なタイプのバッテリ3に組付けることができる。
また、ヒューズエレメント13の挿通孔11は、バッテリ3の側面と樹脂ボディ17の当接部15との当接方向に長穴状に形成されているので、ヒューズエレメント13の挿通孔11にバッテリ端子7のスタッドボルト9が挿通された状態で、樹脂ボディ17をバッテリ3の側面に対して挿通孔11に沿って移動させることができ、バッテリ3の側面と樹脂ボディ17の当接部15との当接を案内することができる。
さらに、樹脂ボディ17の当接部15の端部には、樹脂ボディ17をバッテリ3に組付けるときに、バッテリ3の上面端部と摺動するテーパ面19が形成されているので、テーパ面19とバッテリ3の上面端部との摺動により、バッテリ3の側面と樹脂ボディ17の当接部15との当接を案内することができる。
なお、本実施の形態に係るヒューズユニットでは、ヒューズエレメントの挿通孔が長穴状に形成されているが、これに限らず、例えば、多角形状に形成させてもよい。
この場合には、バッテリポストからバッテリの側面までの距離が異なるタイプのバッテリだけでなく、バッテリの上面において、バッテリポストとバッテリの側面とを結ぶ直線と交差する方向の距離が異なるタイプのバッテリ、すなわちバッテリの上面に自由にバッテリポストが設けられた様々なタイプのバッテリに対してヒューズユニットを組付けることができる。
Claims (3)
- ヒューズユニットであって、
バッテリの上面に突設されたバッテリポストに固定されたバッテリ端子に突設されたスタッドボルトが挿通される挿通孔を有するヒューズエレメントと、
インサート成形によって前記ヒューズエレメントと一体化されて形成され、前記バッテリの側面に当接される当接部を有する樹脂ボディとを備え、
前記ヒューズエレメントの前記挿通孔は、前記バッテリポストの配置位置が異なる複数のバッテリに対して、前記バッテリの側面と前記樹脂ボディの当接部とが当接した状態で、前記スタッドボルトを挿通可能な形状に形成されていることを特徴とするヒューズユニット。 - 請求項1記載のヒューズユニットであって、
前記ヒューズエレメントの前記挿通孔は、前記バッテリの前記側面と前記樹脂ボディの前記当接部との当接方向に長穴状に形成されていることを特徴とするヒューズユニット。 - 請求項1又は2記載のヒューズユニットであって、
前記樹脂ボディの前記当接部の端部には、前記樹脂ボディを前記バッテリに組付けるときに、前記バッテリの上面端部と摺動するテーパ面が形成されていることを特徴とするヒューズユニット。
