Definitions
- the present invention relates to an improved technique for a garnish with a mall.
- a garnish main body is fitted into a part of a door sash, and a molding is fitted into a groove formed on the outer surface of the garnish main body.
- the molding is a press-molded product of a metal plate, and flanges are bent at both ends.
- the garnish main body is a resin molded product molded by a molding die, and a groove for fitting the flange is formed.
- the draft of the mold is provided on the side wall of the groove. That is, at least one of the side walls on both sides of the groove is formed on an inclined surface that is inclined in a direction in which the groove width increases from the groove bottom toward the groove opening.
- the molding can be attached to the garnish main body by press-fitting the flange into the groove portion having the inclined side wall. In this case, the flange is elastically deformed along the side wall of the groove.
- the flange in contact with the side wall tries to return to its original shape by its own restoring force.
- this restoring force acts on the side wall, a component force is generated in the molding in the direction of lifting from the garnish body. If the molding is slightly lifted from the garnish body, a slight gap visible from the outside may be generated between the end of the molding and the groove opening of the groove. Such a gap is disadvantageous in improving the appearance of the door.
- This invention makes it a subject to provide the garnish with a mall with high external appearance property.
- the outer surface of the garnish body includes: A groove extending in the longitudinal direction of the garnish body is formed, and at least one of the side walls on both sides of the groove is formed in an inclined surface that is inclined in a direction in which the groove width widens from the groove bottom toward the groove opening. A surface portion extending in the longitudinal direction of the garnish body along the outer surface of the garnish body, and rising from one edge in the width direction of the surface portion toward the groove portion, and is fitted into the groove portion to form the inclined surface.
- the first angle formed by the surface portion and the flange is more than the second angle formed by the extension line of the groove bottom and the inclined surface.
- a through hole penetrating from the groove bottom to the back surface of the garnish body is formed in the groove bottom of the groove portion, and the through hole is formed in at least a part of the flange.
- a protrusion is formed that protrudes to the back surface of the garnish body, and the protrusion is caulked and fixed to the back surface of the garnish body.
- the caulking and fixing of the protruding portion with respect to the back surface of the garnish main body is configured such that a tip end portion of the protruding portion is bent toward the inclined surface side along the back surface of the garnish main body.
- a caulking protrusion extending from the other edge in the width direction toward the edge in the width direction of the garnish main body is formed on the surface portion of the molding.
- the front end portion of the projecting portion extends from the edge in the width direction of the garnish body to the back surface, and is crimped and fixed by being bent in the same direction as the caulking direction of the projecting portion along the back surface.
- a vehicle door comprising the garnish with a molding according to any one of claims 2 to 4, wherein the vehicle door includes a door main body, and the door main body.
- a door sash attached to the upper side, and a panel support frame that is attached to an upper portion of the door body and supports a window panel is attached to the door sash, and the garnish body is provided on a surface of the panel support frame,
- the panel support frame includes a panel support frame lower side extending along the upper edge of the door body, a panel support frame side side extending upward from an end of the panel support frame lower side, and the panel support frame.
- a panel support frame upper side extending from the upper end of the side side in substantially the same direction as the panel support frame lower side, and the groove includes the panel support frame lower side, the panel support frame side, and the panel support.
- a portion of the groove portion corresponding to the lower side portion of the panel support frame is defined as a lower portion of the groove portion, a portion corresponding to the upper side portion of the panel support frame is defined as an upper side portion of the groove portion, and the flange portion.
- the distance from the flange upper portion to the flange lower portion is the upper portion of the groove
- a vehicle door is formed that is longer than the distance from the lower part of the groove to the upper part of the flange and is in contact with the upper part of the groove.
- a belt line molding is provided along the upper edge of the door main body, an outer panel is attached to the vehicle outer side of the door main body, and the tip of the flange lower side portion is A belt line lip member that abuts against the front end of the belt line molding and is in contact with the outer panel is provided at the lower edge of the belt line molding, and a garnish lip portion that contacts the outer panel is provided at the lower end of the garnish body.
- the garnish lip portion is formed integrally with the garnish main body, and the garnish lip portion is formed of a resin harder than the belt line lip member, and includes a curved portion that is largely curved toward the vehicle inner side than the belt line lip member.
- the first corner formed by the surface portion and the flange is set smaller than the second corner formed by the extension line of the groove bottom and the inclined surface. Since the first corner is small, the molding contacts the groove at a portion near the boundary between the flange and the surface portion. That is, the flange is in contact with the inclined surface at a portion close to the root. Since it is in contact with the inclined surface at a portion close to the root, it is difficult to lift the molding by the restoring force of the flange. In other words, the molding is prevented from rising and a gap is prevented from being generated between the molding and the groove. By preventing the generation of the gap, it is possible to obtain a garnish with a molding having high appearance.
- the protrusion part currently formed in a part of flange protrudes to the back surface of a garnish main body through the through-hole formed in the garnish main body, and is crimped and fixed to the back surface of a garnish main body.
- the flange can be prevented from floating, the flange can be stably fixed in the groove, and the generation of a gap can be prevented more reliably. Further, the flange can be caulked and fixed at a place other than the end of the garnish body.
- the caulking is a configuration in which the tip of the protruding portion is bent toward the inclined surface side along the back surface of the garnish body.
- the protrusion part for crimping is formed in the surface part of a molding, and the front-end
- the structure is fixed by caulking. That is, the protrusion and the caulking protrusion are bent in the same direction. Since the protruding portion and the protruding portion for caulking are simultaneously crimped, productivity can be improved.
- the distance from the upper edge of the flange to the lower edge of the flange is formed longer than the distance from the upper edge of the groove to the lower edge of the groove. That is, the flange is formed slightly larger than the groove.
- the flange is an elastic member and can be fitted into the groove even when the flange is formed longer than the groove. By forming the flange longer than the groove, it is possible to absorb inevitable dimensional errors between products.
- the upper side of the flange is in contact with the upper side of the groove. That is, when the entire flange cannot be brought into contact with the entire groove due to inevitably dimensional error, the upper side of the flange is brought into contact with the upper side of the groove. It is possible to prevent a gap from being generated on the upper side that is easy to visually recognize, and to absorb a dimensional error between products on the lower side that is difficult to visually recognize.
- the garnish lip portion that contacts the outer panel is formed integrally with the garnish body.

- the angle ⁇ 0 before being pushed in may be larger than the angle ⁇ 2. That is, any angle that is smaller than ⁇ 2 after being pushed in may be used.
- the molding 80 comes into contact with the groove portion 90 at a portion near the boundary between the flange 82 and the surface portion 81. That is, the flange 82 is in contact with the inclined surface 92 at a portion close to the root. Since the portion close to the base is in contact with the inclined surface 92, it is difficult to lift the molding 80 by the restoring force of the flange 82. That is, the molding 80 is prevented from being lifted, and a gap is prevented from being generated between the molding 80 and the groove 90. By preventing the generation of the gap, the garnish 60 with a molding having high appearance can be obtained.
- the vehicle door equipped with the garnish with a molding according to the present invention has been described by taking the right door on the rear side of the vehicle as an example, but it can also be applied to other vehicle doors such as the left door on the rear side of the vehicle. It is not limited to those.
- vehicle door equipped with the garnish with a molding according to the present invention has been described by taking a swing type door as an example, but it can also be applied to other vehicle doors such as a slide type door, and those types are also available. It is not limited to.
- the garnish with a molding of the present invention is suitable for being mounted on a door employed at the side part of the rear part of the vehicle body.
