- MAMEF main body consist of two parts which are interlocked with screw system (threaded system); lenghtening-shorthening (compression-distraction) functions are performed here by the help of the system preventing rotation, without the need for any additional part; it has a total of twelve pin insertion holes (14), as being six pieces each (6+6) on the front and the back; two pins inserted sequentially in the front and the back grooves are positioned at an angle of 15 degrees between themselves.
- MAMEF pin clamps have monoblock cylindirical structures, and they are fixed to MAMEF body with a special connection system consisting of a sphere (1) and pins (2).
- Pin clamps on both ends of MAMEF have fourteen different pin inserting holes as being six horizontal (9), four proximal oblique (16) and four distal oblique holes (16).
- Six pins can be placed in each pin clamp at the same time. Pins can be placed on them at different angles on the same plane at the same time. They allow pin inserting on more than one plane.
- Each pin is fixed with a setscrew (10).
- MAMEF pin clamps are moved at angles according to their main body axes, by a special connection system consisting of spheres (1) and pins (2).
- Both ends of MAMEF have 360 degree rotations, a total of 60 degree flexion-extension as being 30 degree each (30+30), a total of 60 degree varus- valgus as being 30 degree each (30+30).
- Functions can be performed separately or together, at the same or different time, at one time or gradually in a controlled way.
- Adjustable free pin clamps (12) can be placed in all pin holes and grooves in the system. They can be placed on three plans, at 360 degrees, at any desired angle, and at any quantity.
- Pins can be made of titanium or stainless steel. Their tips are designed as tapered and threaded. They have different diameters, lengths and thread lengths for femur, tibia and humerus. They can be placed in one or two cortex. Pins for translation are the ones having threaded parts starting after 2cm from the smooth tip, and continuing 4 cm.

Abstract
La présente invention concerne un « élément de fixation externe, multifonctionnel, ajustable, modulaire (MAMEF) » qui comprend de nombreux modules, qui est ajustable et multifonctionnel, et qui est fixé aux os de manière externe de façon à stabiliser des fractures ouvertes ou fermées du fémur, du tibia et de l'humérus ; à corriger des malformations structurales d'os, telles que des malformations du plan frontal, sagittal et oblique ; à traiter une pseudo-arthrose et un cal vicieux de courte durée et de longue durée, à ouvrir des contractures d'articulation, et à traiter des malformations congénitales d'extrémité telles qu'un pied bot varus équin congénital. Et il comprend une ou plusieurs sphères d'angulation de MAMEF (1), des broches de fixation (2) pour une sphère d'angulation de MAMEF, une vis de pression (3) pour une angulation sphérique de MAMEF, un corps (4) de pince de broche d'angulation de MAMEF, un corps d'allongement de MAMEF (5), un corps fileté d'allongement de MAMEF (6), une ou plusieurs pinces de broche d'angulation de MAMEF (7), une surface dentelée (8) pour fixer une pince de broche d'angulation de MAMEF, des trous de broche transversaux de MAMEF (9), des vis de pression de fixation de broche de MAMEF (10), une vis d'allongement-raccourcissement (11) de pince de broche d'angulation de MAMEF, un boulon de MAMEF (12) pour introduire une seule broche (inclinée ou transversale), un écrou de transfert d'allongement-raccourcissement de MAMEF (13), des trous de broche de corps de MAMEF (les deux côtés) (14), des vis de fixation (15) pour des broches de corps de MAMEF, des trous de broche inclinés de MAMEF (16), un boulon fileté anti-rotation et son écrou de fixation (17) de pince de broche d'angulation de MAMEF, un trou de vis de pression (18) pour une flexion-extension de MAMEF, un trou de vis de pression (19) pour une angulation du varus-valgus de MAMEF, une partie de translation d'angulation de MAMEF (20), une partie de rotation d'angulation de MAMEF (21), une partie de verrouillage réciproque (22) pour une rotation-translation de MAMEF, une vis de translation de MAMEF (23), une vis de fixation de compression-distraction (24) de pince de broche de MAMEF, une vis de fixation (25) pour un corps d'allongement de MAMEF, une vis anti-rotation de MAMEF (26) et une partie de verrouillage réciproque de pince de MAMEF (27) pour une translation.
