Abstract
Description
特許文献1に記載の従来構成においては、液晶パネルの周囲に複数のパネルスイッチが配置され、その液晶パネルとパネルスイッチとの間に導光レンズが配置されている。そして、液晶パネルの光が導光レンズを介してパネルスイッチに導かれて、そのパネルスイッチが照明される。このため、この特許文献1においては、パネルスイッチを照明するための専用の光源が不要とされている。
特許文献1に記載の構成は、液晶パネルの光によりパネルスイッチ全体が照明されるものであるが、この特許文献1におけるパネルスイッチの照明は、液晶表示画面の光を流用して、スイッチ表示するものである。従って、スイッチの光量は、液晶画面のバックライトの光量に左右され、スイッチの光量を多くしようとすれば、液晶表示画面が明るくなりすぎる。従って、加飾照明のためにこの構成を利用した場合、液晶表示画面の輝度等による制約を受け、所望の加飾デザインを得ることは困難である。しかも、この特許文献1の構成においては、液晶画面にスイッチ光確保用のエリアが必要となり、液晶表示装置全体の大型化を招くことになる。さらに、この構成を利用して、液晶画面から離れた位置において加飾照明を行う場合、導光レンズとして長いものが必要となり、表示装置の限られたスペース内にこのような構成の導光レンズを組み込むことは困難である。
前記表示装置において、前記カラーフィルタの端部を粗面加工することにより前記放光面を形成するとよい。
前記メータ装置において、前記反射面を表示装置または車両部品の一部に設けるとよい。
前記メータ装置において、前記カラーフィルタ及び前板にスモーク加工を施すとよい。
図1及び図2に示すように、この実施形態のメータ装置10は、車両のインストルメントパネル11の開口11a内に設置され、その内部に表示装置12が組み込まれている。インストルメントパネル11のフード部11bの下部の開口11aに位置するように、メータ装置10の後述する前面枠16には透明板よりなる前板13が表示装置12の後述のカラーフィルタ19を覆うように配置されている。この前板13には、発光元輝度に対して所定(例えば33パーセント)の透光率を設定するためのスモーク加工が施されている。
車両の運転時には、発光表示ユニット18の表示部18a~18dの発光及び表示用発光素子21による表示マーク20a~20dの発光により、運転状況が表示される。この場合、発光表示ユニット18の表示光がカラーフィルタ19を介して視覚刺激が少なく、しかも目立つ色の光に変換される。また、この運転状況の表示に際しては、加飾用発光素子22が発光され、その光が反射面24aを介してカラーフィルタ19の下部の放光面23aに導かれて、その放光面23aから前方に向かって加飾光が放たれる。よって、表示装置12としての優れた加飾効果を発揮させることができる。
(1) この実施形態においては、発光表示ユニット18の前面に配置されたカラーフィルタ19の下端部に、加飾用発光素子22の光を反射面24aを介して受けて前方に向かって放光する放光面23aが形成されている。このため、発光表示ユニット18用のカラーフィルタ19を利用して、表示装置12としての加飾効果を得ることができる。そして、加飾用発光素子22を表示用として利用することなく、加飾照明専用にできるため、高い加飾効果を得ることができる。
なお、前記実施形態には、以下のように構成することも可能である。
・ 図4に示すように、放光面28aをカラーフィルタ19の下端面に設け、壁部25を省略すること。
・ メータ装置10の前板13としてスモーク加工が施されていないものを用いること。
Claims (7)
- 発光表示ユニットと、その発光表示ユニットの前面に配置されたカラーフィルタとを備えた表示装置において、
前記発光表示ユニットの外側に発光素子を設けるとともに、前記カラーフィルタの端部には前記発光素子の光を受けて前方に向かって放光する放光面を形成したことを特徴とする表示装置。 - 前記発光素子の光路内に反射面を設け、発光素子の光が前記反射面を介して前記放光面に到達するようにしたことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の表示装置。
- 前記カラーフィルタの端部を粗面加工することにより前記放光面を形成したことを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載の表示装置。
- 請求項1~3のうちのいずれか一項に記載の表示装置を車両のインストルメントパネルの開口内に組み込み、前記発光表示ユニットが車両の走行状況を表示するようにするとともに、前記カラーフィルタを覆うように前記開口に透明な前板を設けたことを特徴とするメータ装置。
- 前記反射面を表示装置または車両部品の一部に設けたことを特徴とする請求項4に記載のメータ装置。
- 前記カラーフィルタには前記反射面からの光がカラーフィルタの裏面側に漏洩することを防止するための壁部を設けたことを特徴とする請求項4または5に記載のメータ装置。
- 前記カラーフィルタ及び前板にスモーク加工を施したことを特徴とする請求項4~6のうちのいずれか一項に記載のメータ装置。
