Abstract

 映像の立体映像表示用の画素配置変換をハードウェア上で実現する。本発明の映像変換装置は、映像出力装置より複数視点の映像を映像信号として受信する受信手段と、該受信手段により受信した該複数視点の映像をフレームごとに記憶素子に記憶する記憶手段と、該記憶手段により該記憶素子に記憶された該複数視点の映像の画素配置を、予め設定された変換制御情報に基づいて立体映像表示用の画素配置に変換する指示を制御する変換制御手段と、該変換制御手段からの指示により、該画素配置を即時変換する変換手段と、該変換手段により該画素配置を変換された映像を映像信号として立体映像表示装置に送信する送信手段と、を備えたことにより、複数視点の映像の立体映像表示用の画素配置変換をハードウェア上で実現する。
