Abstract
Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft eine Dotierungszusammensetzung für Keramiken auf Blei-Zirkon-Titanat-Mischkristall-Basis, ein die Zusammensetzung umfassendes piezoeieKtrisches Material auf Blei-Zirkon-Titanat-Mischkristall-Basis, ein Verfahren zur Herstellung eines piezoelektrischen Mehrschichtbauelements, ein piezoelektrisches Mehrschichtbauelement sowie die Verwendung der Zusammensetzung zur Dotierung von Keramiken auf Blei-Zirkon-Titanat- Mischkristall-Basis.

Beschreibung
Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft eine Dotierungszusammensetzung für Keramiken auf Blei-Zirkon-Titanat-fvlischkristaü-Basis, ein die Zusammensetzung umfassendes piezoelektrisches Material auf Blei-Zirkon-Titanat-Mischkristall-Basis, ein Verfahren zur Herstellung eines piezoelektrischen Mehrschichtbauelements, ein piezoelektrisches Mehrschichtbauelement sowie die Verwendung der Zusammensetzung zur Dotierung von Keramiken auf Biei-Zirkon-Titanat- Mischkristall-Basis.
Stand der Technik
Blei-Zirkon-Titanat-(PZT)-Keramiken finden in der Einspritztechnik Anwendung. Die Keramiken werde;n dabei in Form von Mehrschichtbauelementen eingesetzt. Hierbei werden beispielsweise etwa dreihundert Keramikschichten, welche mit einer leitfähigen Innenelektrodenpaste bedruckt und aufeinander gestapelt angeordnet sind, versintert.
Bisher werden Innenelektrodenpasten verwendet, welche Silber und Palladium in einem 70: 30- Verhältnis umfassen. Die Zugabe von Palladium erhöht den
Schmelzpunkt der Süber-Paliadium-Legieruπg und bildet gleichzeitig eine PaISa- dium-Blei-Oxid-haitigs Sperrschicht, welche eine die piezoelektrischen Eigenschaften beeinflussende Diffusion des Silbers der Snnenelektrode in das Kristallgitter der Keramik verringert. Die Verwendung von Palladium geht jedoch mit ho- hen Materialkosten einher. Ein Verzicht auf Palladium kann hingegen bei her-
kömmüchen Keramiken zu einer Verschlechterung der piezoelektrischen Eigenschaften des Bauteils führen.
Offenbarung der Erfindung
Gegenstand der vor! egenden Erfindung ist eine Dotierungszusammensetzung für Keramiken auf Bieϊ-Zirkon-Titanat-Mischkristall-Basis, welche die allgemeine Formel:
M!(M"(0,25-x)M"O,75)O(3_κ/2){CO2)w
aufweist, wobei:
M' für Magnesium, Calcium, Strontium, Barium oder eine Mischung davon steht, M" für Lithium, Natrium, Kalium oder eine Mischung davon steht,
M'" für Niob, Tantal, Antimon oder eine Mischung davon steht, 0 < w < 2, insbesondere 0 ≤ w < 1 , und 0 < x < 0,25.
Dabei bedeutet ,,(CO2)W 1', dass die erfindungsgernäße Dotierungszusammensetzung als Carbonat gebundenes CO2 enthalten kann.
Eine derartige Zusammensetzung ermöglicht vorteilhafterweise das Versintern von, insbesondere reinen, Silber-Elektroden und Blei-Zirkon-Titanat-Keramiken in Mehrlagenbauelementen. Dabei ist die sonst ungewollte Diffusion von Silber in die Keramik ein Bestandteil der Material-Dotierung, welche die für die Anwendung, insbesondere in der Einspritztechnik, vorausgesetzten piezoelektrischen Eigenschaften realisieren kann. Mit anderen Worten, die sonst ungewollte Diffusion von Silber wird im Rahmen der vorliegenden Erfindung nicht, beispielsweise durch Zusätze in der Innenelektroden-Paste, unterdrückt, sondern als Bestandteil der Keramik ins Gefüge eingebaut.

Im Rahmen einer besonders bevorzugten Ausführungsform der vorliegenden Erfindung weist die Zusammensetzung die allgemeine Formel:

auf, wobei
0 ≤ w ≤ 2, insbesondere 0 ≤ w ≤ 1 , 0 < x ≤ 0,25, und 15 0 ≤ y ≤ 1, insbesondere 0,1 < y ≤ 0,9, beispielsweise 0,4 ≤ y ≤ 0,6.
Ein weiterer Gegenstand der vorliegenden Erfindung ist ein piezoelektrisches Material auf Blei-Zirkon-Titanat-Mischkristall-Basis, welches eine erfindungsge-
20 mäße Dotierungszusammensetzung umfasst.
Vorzugsweise umfasst das piezoelektrische Material dabei > 0 Mol-% und ≤ 0,1 Mol-%, insbesondere > 0,01 Mol-% und ≤ 0,05 Moi-%, der erfindungsgernä- ßen Dotierungszusammensetzung.

Insbesondere kann das piezoelektrische Material dabei die aligemeine Formel:

M' für Magnesium, Calcium, Strontium, Barium oder eine Mischung davon steht, M" für Lithium, Natrium, Kalium oder eine Mischung davon steht, M'" für Niob, Tantal, Antimon oder eine Mischung davon steht, 0 < x < 0,25, 35 0 < z < 0,1 , insbesondere 0,01 < z ≤ Q,05, und
0,4 < n < 0,7, insbesondere 0,45 ≤ n < 0,60, beispielsweise n = 0,53.
Vorzugsweise weist das piezoelektrische Materia! dabei die allgemeine Forme!:

auf, wobei 0 < x < 0,25,
0 ≤ y ≤ 1 , insbesondere 0,1 ≤ y ≤ 0,9, beispielsweise 0,4 < y ≤ 0,8, 0 < z ≤ 0,1, insbesondere 0,01 ≤ z < 0,05, und 0,4 < n < 0,7, insbesondere 0,45 < n < 0,60, beispielsweise n = 0,53.
Das piezoelektrische Material kann sowoh! mit der Coiurnbitrnethode, das heißt Kalzinieren einer ZixTii.xO2-Mischung aus den Oxiden ZrO2 und TiO2 und anschließende Zugabe von PbO und Additiven und erneutes Kalzinieren, als auch nach der Mixed-Oxsde-Methode, das heißt Mischen aller Ausgangsstoffe und anschließendes Kalzinieren, hergestellt werden. Vorzugsweise wird bei der Einwaage ein PbO-Überschuss, beispielsweise von 1 ,75 mol-%, zugegeben, um abdampfendes PbO während des Kalzinierens und Sinterns zu kompensieren. Nach dem Kaizinieren kann Lithium, beispielsweise 0,04 Gewichtsprozent in Form von Li2CO3, als Flüssigphasenbildner zum Kalzinat zugegeben werden.
Ein weiterer Gegenstand der vorliegenden Erfindung ist ein Verfahren zur Herstellung eines piezoelektrischen, insbesondere elektrokeramischen, Mehrschicht- bauelements, insbesondere eines Piezoaktors, in dem in Verfahrenschritt a): eine Schicht aus einer metallhaltigen Paste auf eine Keramikschicht, welche die erfindungsgemäße Dotierungszusammensetzung und/oder sin erfindungsgemäßes piezoelektrisches Material umfasst, aufgetragen wird, und - in Verfahrensschritt b): die resultierende Mehrschichtanordnung gesintert wird.
Die Keramikschicht kann dabei dadurch erhalten werden, dass das erfindungsgemäße piezoelektrische Materials zunächst zu einem gießfähigen Schlicker verarbeitet, und danach mittels Gießens zu einer Schicht vergossen und getrocknet wird. Die Schichtdicke kann beispielweise in einem Bereich von > 30 μm
bis ≤ 400 μm liegen. Die Schicht aus einer metallhaltigen Paste kann auf der Keramikschicht durch ein Druckverfahren aufgetragen werden. Bei der metallhaltigen Paste kann es sich um eine Silber und Palladium umfassende Paste oder vorzugsweise um eine reine Silberpaste handeln. Durch Stanzen, Stapeln und Laminieren kann ein Mehrschichtbauelement, welches mehrere Metallpasten- und Keramikschichten in einer alternierenden Anordnung aufweist erhalten werden. Die Schichtzahl kann beispielsweise in einem Bereich von > 10 bis ≤ 500 liegen. Das Sintern kann beispielsweise unter Luft und atmosphärischem Druck bei Temperaturen von ≤ 9400C durchgeführt werden.
Ein weiterer Gegenstand der vorliegenden Erfindung äst ein piezoelektrisches Mehrschichtbauelement, beispielsweise ein Aktor oder Sensor, insbesondere ein Aktor für Einspritztechnik, wobei das Bauelement mindestens eine Kerarnik- Schicht, weiche die erfindungsgemäße Dotierungszusammensetzung und/oder ein erfindungsgemäßes piezoelektrisches Material umfasst, und eine metallische Schicht aufweist und/oder ein nach dem erfindungsgemäßen Verfahren hergestelltes Bauelement ist, wobei die Keramikschicht zumindest teilweise ein Metall der metallischen Schicht umfasst.
Beispielsweise kann die metallische Schicht Silber umfassen oder daraus bestehen. Insbesondere kann die metallische Schicht reines Silber oder eine Silber- Paliadium-Legierung, insbesondere mit einem 70:30-Verhä!tnis, umfassen oder daraus bestehen. Vorzugsweise umfasst dabei die Keramikschicht zumindest teilweise Silber aus der metallischen Schicht.
Einsatz findet die Erfindung in IVSehrlagenbauelementen, in denen PZT- Keramikschichten mit süber-reichen Snnenelektroden, insbesondere reinen Siiber- inneneiektroden, versintert sind, beispielsweise in Aktoren für Einspritztechnik, Piezo-Sensoren, und Aktoren für andere Anwendungen.
Ein weiterer Gegenstand der vorliegenden Erfindung ist die Verwendung einer erfindungsgemäßen Dotierungszusammensetzung zur Dotierung von Keramiken auf Blei-Zirkon-Titanat-MischkristalJ-Basis.

Die Erfindung wird im Folgenden anhand von Zeichnungen und Beispielen erläutert. Dabei ist zu beachten, dass die Zeichnungen und Beispiele nur beschreibenden Charakter haben und nicht dazu gedacht sind, die Erfindung in irgendeiner Form einzuschränken.

Bϊei-Zirkon-Titanat-{PZT)-Keramiken weisen eine in Figur 1 dargestellte perows- kitische Struktur (ASO3-Typ) auf. In Figur 1 ist Blei mit dem Bezugszeichen 1 , Zirkonium/Titan mit dem Bezugszeichen 2 und Sauerstoff mit dem Bezugszeichen 3 gekennzeichnet.
In der Perowskit-Struktur besetzt Blei den A-Piatz 1 , wobei Zirkonium und Titan statistisch verteilt den B-Platz 2 besetzen. Zudotierte Elemente oder Verunreinigungen nehmen entsprechend ihrer Größe und Ladung den A- 1 oder B-2-Piat∑ ein und substituieren dabei das jeweilige Gitter-Element.
Dabei können Gitter-Elemente sowohl mit gleichwertigen (isovalenten) Ionen, beispielsweise Pb2+-P!atz mit Ca2+, Sr2+, Ba2+ für beziehungsweise Ti/Zr4+-P!atz mit Hf4+, als auch mit anderswertigen Ionen substituiert werden. Der Ladungsunterschied wird durch Leerstellen (Fehlen von Ionen) im Gitter kompensiert. Bei der Substitution durch anderswertige Ionen unterscheidet man in Donatordotierung und Akzeptordotierung.
Figur 2a veranschaulicht eine Perowskit-Struktur mit Donafordotierung. Bei der Donatordotierung (weiche Keramik) sind die Dotierelemente höherwertiger als der Gitterplatz. Beispiele für eine Donatordotierung sind eine La3+/Bi3+-Dotierung auf dem A-Piatz (Pb2+-P!atz) 5 (siehe Figur 2a) beziehungsweise eine Nb5+-
Dotierung auf dem B-Platz (Ti/Zr4+-P!atz) (nicht dargestellt). Damit ist das Dotierelement 5 relativ zum Gitterplatz positiv geladen. Um dies auszugleichen wird positives Blei aus dem Gitter entfernt und negative Bieüeersteüen V"Pb 6 gebildet.
Figur 2b veranschaulicht eine Perowskit-Struktur mit Akzeptordotierung. Bei der
Akzeptordotierung (harte Keramik) sind die Dotierelemente geringwertiger als der Gitterplatz, Beispiele für eine Akzeptordotierung sind eine Na4ZK+ZAg+ -Dotierung auf dem A-Platz (Pb2+-Platz) (nicht dargestellt) beziehungsweise eine Cu2+ZMg2+ZAI3+/Cr3+/Fe3+ZNi2+ZY3+/Yb3+-Dotierung auf dem B-Platz (TiZZr4+-PIaIz) 7 (siehe Figur 2b). Damit ist das Dotierelement relativ zum Gitterplatz negativ geladen. Um dies auszugleichen wird negativer Sauerstoff aus dem Gitter entfernt und positive Sauerstoffleerstellen V"o 8 gebildet.
Der Gedanke, welcher der vorliegenden Erfindung zu Grunde liegt, wird durch Figur 3 näher erläutert.
In herkömmlichen Blei-Zirkon-Titanat-(PZT)— Keramiken, weiche beispielsweise eine Dotierungszusammensetzung der allgemeinen Formel: Sr(Ko,25Nb0i75)03 umfassen, finden folgende Substitutionen statt:
isovalente Substitution von Pb2+ durch Sr2+ auf A-Platz (keine Ladungsänderung), niedervalente Substitution von Pb2+ durch K+ auf A-Platz, und höhervalente Substitution von TiZZr4+ durch Nb5+ B-Platz.
Eine derartige Dotierungszusammensetzung ermöglicht die gewünschten Eigenschaften für den Einsatz in der Einspritztechnik (siehe Ia, wobei Strontium 9 und Kalium 10). Kommt es jedoch zusätzlich zu einer ungewollten Dotierung 8b durch eindiffundierendes Ag+ 11 aus der Innenelektrode erhöht sich der Anteil der nie- dervalenten Dotierung (Akzeptor-Anteil) auf dem A-Platz und verändert den Charakter und die elektrαmechanischen Eigenschaften der Keramik.
Der erfjndungsgemäßen Dotierungszusammensetzung liegt hingegen der Gedanke zu Grunde, durch eine Verringerung Ha einzelner Elemente, insbesondere von Kalium 10, in 6er Dotierungszusammensetzung, beispielsweise Sr(Ko,ioNbo,75)0(2,92&), das eindiffundierende Ag+ 11 als Bestandteil der Dotierungszusammensetzung aufzunehmen (siehe IIb). Einer möglichen Theorie zur Foige, könnte auf diese Weise der Gesamt-Akzeptor-Gehalt konstant gehalten werden.
Die nachfolgend erläuterten Beispiele zeigen, dass, durch eine erfindungsgemäße Dotierungszusammensetzung, die eiektromechanischen Eigenschaften der Keramik vorteilhafterweise trotz Silberdiffusion auf hohem Niveau gehalten werden können.
Beispiele
In der folgenden Tabelle werden die Ergebnisse von Dehnungsuntersuchungen nach 1x10s Dehnungszykien bei einer Feldstärke von 2,3 kV/mm wiedergegeben, welche an Mehrschichtbaueiementen mit keramischen Schichten der allgemeinen Formel (1-z) Pb(Zr0,53Tio,47)03 - z Sr0i5oCaoi5o(Ko,25-χNbo,75)0(3.x/2) durchgeführt wurden.
Die Tabelle zeigt, dass sich die Dehnung des Mehrschichtbauelementes mit abnehmendem Kalium-Gehalt erhöht. Durch ICP-Eiement-Analyse und Mikroson- denanalyse konnte ermittelt werden, dass die keramischen Schichten Silber umfassen.
Claims
1. Dotierungszusammensetzung für Keramiken auf B!ei-Zirkon-Ϊitanat- Mischkristall-Basis, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Zusammensetzung die allgemeine Formel:
M'(M"(o.26-x)M"O,75)0(3.Xß)(C02)w aufweist, wobei
M' für Magnesium, Calcium, Strontium, Barium oder eine Mischung davon steht,
M" für Lithium, Natrium, Kalium oder eine Mischung davon steht,
M'" für Niob, Tantal, Antimon oder eine Mischung davon steht, 0 < w < 2, und
0 < x < 0,25.
2. Dotieruπgszusammensetzung nach Anspruch 1 , dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass M' für Calcium, Strontium, oder eine Mischung davon steht.
3. Dotierungszusammensetzung nach Anspruch 1 oder 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass M" für Kaiium steht.
4. Dotierzusammensetzung nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 3, dadurch ge- kennzeichnet, dass M'" für Niob steht.
5. Dotierzusammensetzung nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 4, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Zusammensetzung die allgemeine Formel:
SryCa(1.y)(K(oi25-x)Nbo,75)0(3-x/2){C02)w
aufweist, wobei 0 < w < 2, 0 < x < 0,25, und 0 ≤ y ≤ 1.
6. Piezoelektrisches Material auf Blei-Zirkon-Titanat-Mischkristall-Basis, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das Material eine Dotierungszusammensetzung nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 5 υmfasst.
7. Piezoelektrisches Material nach Anspruch 5, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das Material > 0 Mol-% und < 0,1 Mol-% der Dotierungszusammensetzung nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 5 umfasst.
8. Piezoelektrisches Material nach Anspruch 5 oder 7, dadurch gekennzeich- net, dass das Material die allgemeine Formel:
(1-z) Pb(ZrnTi(Ln))O3 - z M1CM-(O125-X)M11Oj5)O(S-XZ2)
aufweist, wobei M' für Magnesium, Calcium, Strontium, Barium oder eine Mischung davon steht,
M" für Lithium, Natrium, Kalium oder eine Mischung davon steht,
M'" für Niob, Tantal, Antimon oder eine Mischung davon steht
0 < x < 0,25, 0 < z ≤ 0,1 , unc
0,4 < n < 0,7.
9. Verfahren zur Herstellung eines piezoelektrischen Mehrschichtbauelements, in dem - in Verfahrenschritt a): eine Schicht aus einer metallhaltigen Paste auf eine Keramikschicht, welche die Dotierungszusammensetzung nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 5 und/oder ein piezoelektrisches Material nach einem der Ansprüche 6 bis 8 umfasst, aufgetragen wird, und in Verfahrensschritt b): die resultierende Mehrschichtanordnung gesin- tert wird.
10. Piezoelektrisches Mehrschichtbauelements dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das Bauelement mindestens eine Keramikschicht, welche die Dotierungszu- sammensetzung nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 5 und/oder ein pie∑oelekt- risches Material nach einem der Ansprüche 6 bis 8 umfasst, und eine metallische Schicht aufweist und/oder ein nach dem Verfahren von Anspruch 9 hergestelltes Bauelement ist, wobei die Keramikschicht zumindest teilweise ein Metali der metallischen Schicht umfasst.
11. Bauelement nach Anspruch 10, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die metaiii- sehe Schicht Silber umfasst, wobei die Keramikschicht zumindest teilweise
Silber aus der metallischen Schicht umfasst.
12. Verwendung einer Dotierungszusammensetzung nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 5 zur Dotierung von Keramiken auf Biei-Zirkon-Titanat-MischkristaS!- Basis.
