Abstract

Die katalytisch aktive Masse eines Katalysatorformkörpers umfasst ein Vanadium und Phosphor enthaltendes Multielementoxid. Das spezifische Porenvolumen PV (in ml/g) des Katalysatorformkörpers, die Schüttdichte p des Katalysatorformkörpers (in kg/l), die geometrische Oberfläche Ageo (in mm2) und das geometrische Volumen Vgeo (in mm3) des Katalysatorformkörpers genügen der Bedingung: 0,275 < PV • p • Ageo/Vgeo. In einem Verfahren zur Herstellung von Maleinsäureanhydrid durch heterogen katalytische Gasphasenoxidation eines Kohlenwasserstoffs erlaubt der Katalysatorformkörper einen geringeren Druckverlust und eine hohe Ausbeute.
