There is. Thereby, there exists a possibility that the battery fitting part 14 and the cover part 15 may deform
- Such a temperature suppression layer 16 is formed as follows.
- the temperature suppression layer 16 is, for example, applied to the surface on which the temperature suppression layer 16 is to be formed by applying a temperature suppression layer forming composition containing inorganic compound particles having heat insulation properties and a binder. It is obtained by forming.

- endothermic inorganic compound particles inorganic compound particles having an endothermic peak at a temperature of 80 ° C. or higher are preferable.
- the heat insulation layer containing such endothermic inorganic compound particles when the secondary battery generates heat, the endothermic inorganic compound particles absorb heat by an endothermic reaction. As a result, when the secondary battery generates heat, the surface of the housing 10 can be prevented from locally becoming high temperature.
- Examples of the endothermic inorganic compound particles include inorganic hydrates, metal hydroxides and carbonates having a large endothermic peak at a temperature of 80 ° C. or higher, preferably an endothermic peak at a temperature of 80 ° C. or higher.
- Specific examples include, for example, calcium sulfate dihydrate (CaSO 4 .2H 2 O), sodium hydrogen carbonate (NaHCO 3 ), aluminum hydroxide (Al (OH) 3 ), magnesium hydroxide (Mg (OH) 2 ), Calcium carbonate (CaCO 3 ) and the like. These may be used alone or in combination of two or more. Among these, calcium sulfate dihydrate (CaSO 4 .2H 2 O) is preferable because it is particularly excellent in endothermic properties.
- Calcium sulfate one half hydrate (CaSO 4 ⁇ 0.5H 2 O, plaster of Paris) shows a binding property by water and kneaded, turned dihydrate calcium sulphate by drying by coating Harden. Abstract
